Chapter 556 — The Battle Of The Soaring Dragon (3)

The Battle Of The Soaring Dragon (3)

"Generals, Admirals," the voice was a young one's, but his following words made the former clench their hearts. "These are the words from the First Admiral. The Empire has detected 3 Fleets heading our way since... 13 minutes ago. Their potency is priority. They are fully equipped and are fully prepared for an all-out war. This is one of the nearby Region's full navy forces. We have been targeted by this enemy, and it's not a possibility. It's a fact. The fortified islands are prepared to deal with the enemy incursion, but we won't last forever. The fortified islands will face the imminent threat of destruction 10 hours after engaging in battle. The estimated time for the enemy to arrive is 2 hours."

"!!" - "!!!" The Generals and Admirals, already in battle, were shocked out of their minds! Is there someone from another Region targeting them? And at this point of the war?! This was no coincidence! One of the Generals held his medallion vigorously and shouted, "Who is it? Which Region is targeting us?! We must act quickly. What is the information?!!"

“Th- the enemy is confirmed. They come from the northernmost Region in the ocean to the Far East Region, the Undermudmusk Region!” The young voice shouted, nearly trembling from the situation. The Generals and Admirals went quiet. After a few seconds, the Second Admiral spoke. Her voice was clear and light despite the strenuously loud bombing and explosive sounds around her. “We will deal with it accordingly. The others are coming, it won’t take long… But we must act better… Do you understand, Third?”

“... We’re doing it?” The Third Admiral asked in return, feeling both excited and heavily burdened. But the Second Admiral lashed out with a stern tone. “Stop babbling! Get your fleet in position. The enemy has been moving towards inland more than necessary. We should act before they do anything improper to our ground forces!”

“Ahh, yes…” The Third Admiral spoke again, this time a bit more stressed. The Generals, who had kept silent this long, said before directly going silent. “We will take our leave! We recognize this situation. Our troops will achieve victory in the enemy’s territory. Admirals, keep your people at hard work, protect our troops from the sea. We will join as soon as we can! Ready the Fighters! We’re turning this land upside down! Not if we have to— we will topple this place!!”

The Generals could be heard speaking to their team of experts right before cutting off from their side. They sounded wrathful, no longer considering being as ‘gentle’ as before. They were ignited to know the enemy had contacted other Regions for sure, but the Admirals could understand, and so did the person talking to them, who then spoke. “Admirals, wish you the best of luck! The Small City will inform you of any inconvenience.”

The Admirals stayed silent for some time before starting to make arrangements. They weren’t planning to just charge ahead and enter into a full-destructive battle out of nowhere, at least not mindlessly. However, before they could order more around their warships, a noise that perked their heads up and attracted their eyes was followed by a few streaking missiles flying from one Destroyer nearest the shore… launching them inland. It was from the enemy’s side.

“Destroy those warships!!” The Admirals commanded, and their Cruisers moved to port to utilize their rocket launchers against a line of enemies trying to form behind the Destroyer. Rocket launchers flew and started destroying enemy Destroyers and a few Cruisers. Both Empire fleets focused their Cruisers’ rocket launchers on the enemy warships near the shore. It was a catastrophic result for the enemy but also left the Empire’s Cruisers vulnerable!

… Meanwhile, as the Carrier and Battleships used their anti-missile systems to protect their Cruisers, and after the enemy warships near the shore began exploding at the incessant rain of rockets, the Empire’s ground forces were just in the middle of finishing the enemy off in their last defensive line, about to turn the energy wall off and let the rest of their armored vehicles in, the sound of flying missiles shrouded their heart and their eyes widened.

“Incoming!!” - “Take cover! Behind the tanks! Rush towards a helicopter, run!!” - “Behind us! Get behind us!” - “Get in! Agh!” - “Approximately 30 missiles from the sea. They’re targeting our unique forces! Protect them! Protect them!!”

‘Ugh, shit…’ Blauw Ishikyy looked up as she rushed towards another enemy group, who looked just as shocked as she was feeling hopeless. She looked back and barked a command before speeding forwards, swinging her trident around. “Return and get some cover!!”

“!...” Her troops and the vassal soldier units behind her were astonished, but the former only hesitated a second before abiding by her commands and rushed to the nearest mobile fortress. On the other hand, the vassal army did the same after seeing the royal princess’s troops dash into a relatively safe place beside a tank or a circle of armored cars and motorbikes. From a sure victory, the battlefield became a place of weak defense against missiles, forcing the Empire’s soldier units to stop, catch their breath, and prepare to defend themselves.

“Incooomiiiing!!” - “What’s the royal princess doing?!” - “Don’t be stupid. She has her royal guards. Do you think she doesn’t know that?! She’s doing this to protect us! Half those fucking missiles are changing direction!!” - “...Dammit!!” Some nearby officials looked at Blauw Ishikyy massacring the clueless, confused enemy as they only reacted when the missiles were 3 seconds from smashing into them.

Over 12 missiles moved down towards Blauw Ishikyy when she wagged her tail, slamming it against the ground, and kicked the dirt and snow with her soles and her legs half-spread. Her trident was projected from her right limb as her left Colorful Claw aimed at the side of her left foot, semi-opened. Snowflakes rushed to fly in her direction as her trident cut through the air like a fast-speeding fish in the water, but her intention wasn’t to whoosh to safety. It was to dance among the incoming crash of destruction and explosions.

Futomp~! Whoosh, pshift- STOMP- stomp, stomp, stomp!

Blauw Ishikyy stopped her flight and stored her trident while keeping her Colorful Claw. Her feet were like magnets as she dropped to the ground, and her tail slammed it once again at the same time. Her body exploded outwards, away from any Blauw Empire unit, and dashed between many remaining small enemy groups holding their ground in the snow. Each time Blauw Ishikyy dropped to the ground after leaping, but keeping her body half a meter above the snow level, her tail did the same and impulsed her body even faster and with a quicker start.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!... Blauw Ishikyy had barely impulsed her body off the ground for the first time when she heard an explosion 3 meters behind her previous position. It rang in her ears as she could see, from her side eyes, how the armored vehicles fired off against the incoming missiles, detonating most in the sky but failing to deal with 2 of those as they exploded on the ground and lifted a hundred meters of snow outwards into the air.

The following explosions, nearer and nearer to her, but each still not reacting fast enough to follow her sudden bolts to random directions, which had been, not coincidentally, their weak spot from their trajectory. Blauw Ishikyy felt some shockwave remnants from those missiles, but all she was affected by them was the snow piling p on her sides, back, and feet as she kept striding without thinking of anything else.

Blauw Ishikyy wasn’t immortal or a young girl who could always rely on others for protection. Because not even a Dantreulity realm royal guard could save her from a missile if met head-on. She had to learn self-protection before more died for her, even if they were meant to. Because she only wanted others to die for her if there was no other solution!

‘Rrraaaugghhrr!’ Blauw Ishikyy felt her momentum drift with a missile exploding 200 meters before her, sending waves of snow towards her, with shockwaves behind it as it slapped her front body and nearly stopped her. She didn’t need to look up or use her Spirit Sense as her ears distinguished 3 missiles still crashing down towards her after arching a long way instead of directly landing on the ground and explode.

Her mind raged as she sprinted in the snow, her tail activated in speeds her body could barely tolerate as her trident appeared, and her Spirit Image forged its appearance behind her. She suddenly jumped 3 meters into the air, turned her torso around, and threw her Earth trident towards the nearest missile. Water element rapidly exited the trident and wrapped it as its structure was pried open! The trident stabbed and dug through its body as it became surrounded by Water.

Puh… When the missile self-destructed, its explosion was halted, with the Water element around it rapidly being consumed and thinning out as the destruction within expanded and spread everywhere. But the trident continued stabbing, and as its pikes came out of the Water layer, it continued to fly upwards into the sky. At that moment, Water particles from the surroundings seemed to be called upon and created a tail of this Element from the snow on the ground and the air everywhere around it.

“... haaa…” All this happened in under 1.2 seconds, in which Blauw Ishikyy was barely returning her torso to face ahead. Her body was scarcely seen from any angle, and many thought she was already being reached by one of the missiles. They could only see the trident flying from within a missile as a last-moment attempt. And it wasn’t far from the truth. Probably not even Heian Ciemnosc should be capable of dealing with these without using everything he had.

‘Ah, how would he deal with something like this?’ Blauw Ishikyy had a last-moment sensation as she faced the ground that she was about to face-front the shit out of her body on and asked herself. Then, still, on the road to the 2nd second, her eyes widened as her azure claws trembled and Neutral Energy exploded everywhere from her body. ‘I see… There’s only one answer… when it comes to him… … … Bite!’

“ROAAAAAAAARRRRR~~~!!” Blauw Ishikyy suddenly landed her knees, feet’s claws, and hand claws on the snow as if grabbing onto a bunch of petty snakes, and turned to look at the incoming missile as scales appeared in every part of her cinnamon skin, granting her another layer of protection that looked as if she had fur, and it was trembling from her instincts of danger… and excitement.

PSHIIIIIIIIIIIFFFFTTTT- sshhhliiing~!

Her Spirit Image suddenly gained form, turning into energy as it sucked it from her shoulders and eyes. It gained life, and its eyes appeared to take a more realistic natural law. When it happened, a jaw manifested, riddled with fangs that could inflict mental pain, fear, and chills on anyone’s skin. Its jaw immediately opened, and as Blauw Ishikyy faced the remaining missile, she opened hers in fury…

“!!!!” The Empire ground forces became astounded as a huge Azure Dragon head appeared and ate the missile! But it still exploded, threatening to pry open the Azure Dragon’s jaws! Its eyes gained more brightness again, and a pair of claws appeared, forcing its jaws to shut tightly, not letting the explosive shockwave even move inside them!!

PSHIIIIIIFT- ssshhhllllliiiiiiiiiinnnnngggg~~!!

Just as the explosion threatened to crack and break open the Azure Dragon’s head, not just its jaws, a tail formed from the center. Its tip was sharp and thin, and its structure seemed delicate and lithe. However, it immediately lunged and stabbed towards its nose as soon as it appeared. When the tail’s tip penetrated its own face and landed on the missile’s explosive shockwaves, like a poison entering veins, it corrupted the destructiveness and turned it all into starry, pristine azure smoke… slowly consolidating into the Water element.

BANG!! PAAAAHH…

The next moment, the Azure Dragon¡s head rapidly dissipated, turning transparent and occasioning an explosion of energy, Water, and shrapnel. It lifted over 3,000 meters of snow, pushing it outwards from the epicenter, where the royal princess was last seen. Several soldier units were blasted backwards from the explosive shockwave. Unharmed, but flew several tens of meters with the snow.

“!!” - “The royal princess!” - “What happened to the princess?!” - “Princess!” - “... Aaagh, shut it! Cough- keh- cough…”

“...” A minute later, the ground forces stood up from the snow, cleaned the armored vehicles, and started shouting at the air to look for answers. However, suddenly, the royal princess’s voice sounded as a figure far in the distance was struggling to climb up from a bunch of smoothed dirt where the explosion originated. Her uniform was dirtied, and her limbs, neck, and helmet were long gone. She looked strangely feral yet civilized and more after she tore her uniform pants off from the knee below.

While the soldier units became relieved, they were astounded at the royal princess being completely fine after such a demonstration of… gracefulness and glory!

“...” Blauw Ishikyy finally stepped out of the hole she herself had made. Looking around, she noticed that only dirt was around her, with the grass she barely caught a glimpse of before the explosion went off downright gone. As for the snow, it was basically 3 km without it, but she didn’t mind. She felt more powerful now as if her body was evolving as she breathed, but there was something more important than her well-being.

“General! What the hell was that? Why is the navy so clumsy? Can we move on? Or not?! Will we get blasted to pieces again? What’s going on?!” Blauw Ishikyy held her medallion close to her right ear as if it was a secondary communications device for the citizen soldier units, feeling her hearing was affected, but it was just a misconception. Instead, it had grown stronger… evolved…

“Ah…! Princess! You are still capable of fighting?” The General in charge of her force was astounded and asked her. Blauw Ishikyy became annoyed and showed her right canines- no, fangs, before answering. “I am fine, General. Now. Can we get comfortable, or do we maybe just need to leave our home defenseless for more time?!”

“Go ahead, permission granted. Destroy the enemy’s base. You are allowed to go critical. Do not hold your hand!” The General became stern and said. Not only to the royal princess, but every other soldier unit under his banner. The same was for the other Generals’ troops and the vassal armies, whose expressions hardened after seeing their royal princess nearly suffer a deathly blow. It didn’t matter how she did it. All that was vital was her safety, life, and death, and to return the favor!

“Ah, phew~. Thanks,” Blauw Ishikyy wiped her forehead, but she smeared more dirt onto her cinnamon skin instead of cleaning her sweat. The General didn’t respond anymore, but everyone could hear her words, and now look at her, alone in the snowless land and facing the enemy’s direction with her lonely back. However, the more eyes locked onto her body from the back and lingered on it, the more theft seemed to see the back of that starry azure, pristine aquamarine tail from before.

Blauw Ishikyy felt her body slowly gaining coldness, and she liked it. Suddenly, she raised her head. When she did, she noticed her head was a little low. Then, she lifted her right arm, and with her Colorful Claw half broken from her wrist and backhand, her body called upon something as an item traveled from afar, buried in the thick snow caused by her actions, towards her.

Whiiiiiiiiiiiistleeee~-! Futomp! The Earth trident’s shaft landed on her right palm, whose azure claws were now more beautiful and enigmatic than before, at least in others’ eyes. For Blauw Ishikyy, they were the same, only cuter and more likable. She casually swung her trident and looked backwards at her troops in the middle of the vassal armies in the north. Her voice was calm, soft even… but it chilled them more than the snowfalls.

“On the move. It’s time to end this fight!”

… While the Empire’s ground forces neared the enemy’s base, the Blue Emirate Grotto's individual territory, its navy had entered the most intense stage of their naval battle. More than 50% into the enemy sea territory, the First and Second fleets had surrounded the enemy, and their Carrier and Battleships were protected from the sides by their respective warships. However, since a few minutes ago, these started mixing with the others, forming a hive to safeguard their more significant warships where their Admirals and Rear Admirals commanded their every move.

“... Hahaha! Do you know it now? Do you?! HAHAHAH!” A thunderous shout emerged from the enemy’s Carriers. One of their commanders faced the Empire’s Carriers in the middle as if looking and pointing at children protected by their mommies. The Second and Third Admiral remained impassive, with her arms crossed and his stone-like face gazing back at the provoking fella. Seeing this, the enemy shouted again, this time pleased. “Don’t worry, haha. After your islands are reduced to debris under the sea, they will come directly here. Your Cities are too juicy, so much to grab and create many slaves and offspring! The perfect farming plot! Hahahahahaha!!”

“...” - “..” The Second and Third Admiral looked on when, suddenly, they were alerted by a gesture from one of their experts and turned to look at their hologram. Then, they looked at the enemy’s commanders one last time before standing in their ‘Admiral position’ to speak at every warship on the battlefield. “Attention, Imperial Guards and citizens… commence maneuvers!”

Step, step, step, step, step, step, step, step, step, step, step! Clang clang clang…

Every warship became hectic out of nowhere. Every warship’s cultivator and citizen soldier units walked, flew, and became engrossed in their respective role, moving about or heavily focusing on directing others, working together to engage in what they’ve had enough time to plan for. Now that they were effectuating such a tactic in actual combat, and after their Admirals ordered them to.

They were excited because this was the first time, but they also knew what it meant. Although the situation was damn scary… it boiled their blood like never before. Then, the Second and Third Admirals’ voices spoke to their individual fleets.

“We move together, cooperate with the other fleet… Good luck.” - “Let’s make this Empire show why its First and Second fleets are their historic soldier units. It’s our moment.”

“HUAAAAA!!!” - “HUAAAAA!!!”
