As time progressed, Heian Ciemnosc and Elena came to witness the growing sight of the Academy's territory. It went from so far in the distance, peeking from the ground and some flora, to monumental, gargantuan buildings everywhere, eclipsing even Heian Ciemnosc's understanding of reality.
There were ‘normal’, short and tall buildings. But quite a few buildings that were several kilometers tall shooting into the sky as if wanting to turn into a gigantic spaceship. They weren’t even thin but had a broader perimeter which made them all the more stupidly big, to the point it was impossible to go through from one extreme to another on the same floor without taking perhaps half a day walking.
They also had their own design. They weren’t just tall and broad like crazy, especially the former. One particular building. Which Heian Ciemnosc seemingly understood was situated at the center of the Academy’s buildings and territory was the tallest and broadest of them all. It had a gray outer appearance without windows, and each floor was like a separate step, similar to a brick wall from the outside. Each ‘step’ was relatively small but hugged the building entirely.
There was an unknown, untold, and too many number of floors between the ground and the topmost of the building. Then there were others. A building with blue outer color and to the east of the Academy’s territory. This one was a bit more broad and fatty but much less tall. Even then, it was still several thousand meters high into the sky. Heian Ciemnosc could only see some of its highest floors before it was hidden by clouds that his nature eyes could not see through.
Another one to the west, and this one was also gray but much lighter and even with a certain brightness leaving Heian Ciemnosc curious. This was regular at being tall and fat. But it had many types of garages below and even some installed platforms and seemed connected to the underground. It was to the west of the Academy’s territory, and along with the blue one, they made the tallest building all the more majestic.
At the north of the academy’s territory, a yellow building with slightly more stoutness made a great contrast in color. But it seemed somewhat linked to the other tallest buildings, and had excellent, seamless pathways interconnecting to go anywhere. And to the south of the Academy’s territory, an obscure green building with blackish corners stood tall and broad. It had no garages below or installations all around it like the light gray one. But it somehow gave Heian Ciemnosc the notion that they were also connected to the underground. And to space, perhaps. And that it was much different from the other building.
Outside of those 5 buildings, a few more tall and slightly broad buildings formed places of their own, with large buildings below which seemed like storage. One of those would be surrounded by another 2, and they would be there and exist for the same purpose. Heian Ciemnosc was itching to know more, especially as he hoped they were for Craftsmaking professions. And since he knew nothing about the world, then having these also ‘impossible’ buildings be their ‘holder’ made Heian Ciemnosc feel more excited.
But before all that could happen, Heian Ciemnosc was brought to the western gates to enter the Wrath Nihility Academy first. Elena told Heian Ciemnosc there was a process in which one would finally be accepted at the gates of the Academy. And then they would have all the time and chances they want to explore around. Of course, she and the teachers advised the new Sub Students to only focus on cultivating and attending classes accordingly.
That was so for the first few years, at least. No big brain was needed to know how stupid it would be for anyone to walk around here thinking they would be able to come to learn every place after a couple weeks of touring. That would be impossible. And especially for the ones without a cultivation base. They hadn’t evens started cultivating yet. There had to be means of direct and instantaneous transportation so the Academy’s territory could at least function.
And as it is known, even amongst the Fift Step organizations, those things are too damn costly even for an organization’s specific organization’s territory. Let alone for those who have to travel between Regions in short amount of times or briefly. Those organizations and their members would crumble if they thought having semi teleportations around their Kingdom or Region was easily said and done.
… Whoosh, whoosh, crei crei, screech, tak takk tukk…
… In any case, Heian Ciemnosc’s ride and the rest of the Sub Students descended upon the entrance, the western gates of the Wrath Nihility Academy’s territory. All the Fauna, and the teachers whose tools were used to fly all the way to here, were respectful and silently descended before the gates and a few large buildings and tall towers, several tens of meters wide for the latter.
All except for Elena’s Taeo. Her birdy tool made noises and even wantonly screeched as it descended along the others, like a spoiled brat and an unruly motherfucker who many would want to roast if it wasn’t all metal and created by Elena’s fearsome master.
“Very well,” as everyone came down their rides, the Teacher spoke slowly, his voice entered every Sub Teacher, Assistant Teacher, and Sub Student that accompanied him today and for the last few days. Addressing everyone, the Teacher began as the Academy’s staff began to come out the building around them and with their hands behind their backs, with a discipline Heian Ciemnosc approved of a lot.
“My time with you is finally over,” the Teacher said. “Now, I will wait here until my fellow Teacher arrives with few several thousand new Sub Students, and I have here several, haha. As for you all, you are now the Wrath Nihility Academy’s Sub Students! Heed my words!”
The Teacher became damn serious out of nowhere with his final yell, the Sub Students breathed in smoothly but sharply still, and the new Sub Students became stern and disciplined all at once. Heian Ciemnosc watched casually and innocently as he came down Elena’s birdy tool, and she came down by snaking her way to the ground, sliding and exposing her boyish butt to the air.
“Listed to your teachers! Sub, Assistant, or like me, they are all the same!” The Teacher paused before continuing, “I know there is a saying: ‘a day as a teacher, a lifetime as a father’. But here it is not the same! A teacher may be like your family, but only your Master is your closest kin! Teachers in this Academy aren’t your protectors nor your maids! They are your source of inspiration, knowledge and future!”
“Every time any student offends a teacher without utmost necessity is every time we fail to honor the Wrath Nihility Academy with a worthy student!” The Teacher continued to say in his serious tone, “So! Listen to your teachers, make friends, memories, and even lovers if you will it. A teacher here is but the Academy’s best and your very beginning. Even a Sub Teacher can remain in another organization. But only a Teacher has the worthiness to belong to the Academy only. We may not even want more than half our current foreign Sub Teachers to become Teachers if they want to. The Wrath Nihility Academy is not a place for talent, but knowledge!”
“I hope, only hope and selfishly wish, that you remember those things the moment you step into my home’s floor and grounds until the day you perish from this world.” The Teacher finished saying. Following this, the Wrath Nihility Academy’s staff broke formation in front of their buildings before closing in to the new Sub Students. The latter were glad, contented, and pensive, all at the same time.
“What’s going on?” However, there was a commotion happening, the Sub Students weren’t going into the buildings directly, and after the Teacher frowned, a girl from the Academy’s staff hopped towards the Teacher as he asked. The staff member girl nodded after bowing briefly in respect, “Teacher, they are refusing to come to register and be admitted… before the acclaimed ‘monstrous’ teenager. Some called him Heian Ciemnosc. Does it ring a bell?”
“Ah…” The Teacher immediately lowered his head and facepalmed his forehead and the corner of his eyes with his left hand’s fingertips. Then shook his head and lifted it to order her, “Bring that pale teenager first. Make it known to everyone else. Aish, these students nowadays, getting like this…”
“Oooh~, the cutest one among all?” The staff member girl said, becoming excited. The Teacher gave her a side eye, and she closed her mouth like a fish before hurrying towards Heian Ciemnosc, afraid she would be told to have someone else do it instead. Once again, the poor, amicable and easygoing Teacher shook his head. Sigh, youth.

“Hello, are you Heian Ciemnosc? I’d like you to help us get this little situation over with? They seem to admire you a lot,” as the staff member girl stepped in front of Heian Ciemnosc, the latter saw her and nodded. But of course, he noticed the things going on and could easily hear every spoken word, including her interest in him.
“You take care. I’m on my way for tomorrow to receive lots of resources!” Looking at Elena, Heian Ciemnosc saw her already stepping backwards with impatience, her left hand storing her huge birdy tool into her Covert Space bag and adding before turning around and walking in another direction than the few hundred meters wide western gates. “Don’t forget to give me all credit, everything!”
“...” Heian Ciemnosc said nothing in return, bidding farewell to her until next met in this way before turning to look at the waiting and smiley staff member girl. Without pleasantries, Heian Ciemnosc was walked to the center of everyone and towards one of the buildings. With the staff member girl leaned on his left arm and shoulder, the back of her head against the top of his shoulder, whenever she spoke to Heian Ciemnosc, or he did.
“Were you the best from your encampment?... Woow! Everyone?! Even the other batch? Cool… That strong? I can’t really believe it. Oh well… Hehe, were you almost bare-chested then? Aiyoo~... Mhm? So amazing, you’ll be a renowned allrounder in the future. Sigh, if I could only do something to encourage you in your future~...”
‘I could get uuuuused to this.’ Heian Ciemnosc, the big times for hormones-Teenager thought, feeling the comfort from the girl’s attached body to his and her boldness to keep eye contact whenever either spoke. It felt nice, ah. But he wasn’t married yet, Alyona hadn’t given him permission, and it wasn’t the same to be told it was okay ‘rule’ and ‘conquer’ the world around than to be given permission. His lower body was better than a warrior's and soldier’s discipline when on duty.
“Ooh, he’s there! Come on, let’s watch.” - “You go first, Heian Ciemnosc!” - “Do the honors!!”
It seemed like another one of those little customs for the new Sub Students, unknown to Heian Ciemnosc, was happening now. Heian Ciemnosc was let go of by the smiley, quite a nice person, and wooer staff member girl in front of one of the building’s entrance. Looking back, he saw many thumbs up and grinning faces nodding towards him. It felt strange… but fitting.
After looking at them, Heian Ciemnosc turned around and entered the building. From the outside, it looked decent but ordinary still with pillars at the far extreme sides and a few stairs that were more decoration than necessary. But inside, it looked like a golden palace with a very high distance between the floor and the ceiling, more than 15 meters high. When Heian Ciemnosc entered, nobody seemed to care about his tattered back and humble-styled clothing showing his pale skin.
“Welcome to the registration desk, where you will form part of the Academy as soon as you sign with your blood essence. Let us look into your being, and your lifeforce. Your name… Heian Ciemnosc? I see, so you’re the best new Sub Student this year? Commendable. Now, please put your hand here and let yourself be prickled on your left-handed ring fingertip by this oldie.” A beautiful young woman of extraordinary cultivation, which Heian Ciemnosc couldn’t read through, smiled at him and spoke.
When she wanted to speak his name, she looked down under her reception desk and frowned before widening her eyes. But they showed disbelief and uncomfortable with what she read. Then, she pointed at an old, stick-like man to her left out of her desk’s perimeter.
Heian Ciemnosc saw a device on the center of her desk, with a handprint on it, where his right hand had to press against, and his blood essence should be signing his admittance. After he stepped close to the desk. She took out a document from under her desk. The document was a single paper sheet with silvery embroidery at the corners and black-glowing lettering.
“This will be your information when entering the Wrath Nihility Academy. Later on, more will be added depending on your accomplishments. Don’t think it’s a spying method. Teachers will b the ones to record such information or even Supervisors. You’re also first on the list, which is a rare thing, and the public information of those events, as it is employed here, will also be shown in that list. Congratulations; again.”
Heian Ciemnosc looked at the document, the information he gave was there, but there were also a few things he didn’t note there that were yet written down by the Teacher. It wasn’t like he knew who did it, but when he looked into the ‘observation’ section of the paper sheet, the name and image of the Teacher who wrote it appeared before his eyes and in his mind.
It read as follows: bodily strength around 30,000, Spirit Sense 1,600 meters range, Fire element protection and innate Art with Soul fluctuations at the Obsidiafying realm 5th stage; possibly lower.
The observations were private, and only people within a building like this and Teachers or higher positions in the Academy could read besides him. But his information about how he defeated 2 Sub Stundets, one half a realm higher than him and the other more than an entire realm above his own, as well as his victory over Elena, was described exactly and detailedly as how it happened.
And that was in the ‘public’ section. Which it, of course, wasn’t wrong. After all, some tens of thousands of participants saw him do just that, including some ordinary people. They all saw him beat all 3 of them.
“Ehem, please. Your hand?” The young beautiful woman spoke, taking Heian Ciemnosc’s attention away from the document and transmitted to her face. Her annoyed expression quickly turned into a forced smile, and her left hand gestured to the handprint device. “It will hurt a bit, but it will take a brief period before it is all over. You just have to tap it with your palm.”
Heian Ciemnosc did as instructed and placed his right hand on the handprint device. It actually sunk and rose to fit his shape, and once it was done moving up and down, his hand remained motionless as a few needles tried poking into his skin. Only for them to break apart as they pushed up and into his skin. Tiny shards fell deeper into the device, with the young woman not noticing.
“Urgh,” with the old person sitting to the left, closed eyes, long white hair tied to a ponytail, and damn seriously old wrinkles grunting, the young woman noticed what was happening. “Ah! This? Um… well… Let me see… Err, can you… open up your skin, please? You already broke 4 sets of testing needles.”
“Urgh.” Once again, the old man grunted, and the young woman said no more. Heian Ciemnosc looked with his eyes almost fully open at the young woman before directing with his All-Devouring Force Chronicles his right palm to fully reveal what lay beneath his skin and even made tiny tunnels to match the needles and where they were trying to prickle him earlier several times.
The young woman tried again, and this time, awkwardly as her eyes fidgety avoided his and activated the device again. This time, it was successful. And Heian Ciemnosc felt the needles reach just 1 nanometer before touching his bones and start ‘linking’ with his blood, flesh, veins and bones despite not touching most of them.
Trrrrriii-uuu~... trrrrr…
Once again, something appeared to happen to the device. Heian Ciemnosc, like something deep within him, was being called upon, friendly. And as that something was called, his blood seemed t slowly converge at his right eyebrow from everywhere, even his pens, to form a kind of ‘different’ blood. Meanwhile, the device continued to work, leaving not only the young man breathless and confused but the old man too.
“Err… ah! It’s done, let me seee-waa… It’s so… rich… wow… This potent? Mm… waah, so bountiful. And your fertility rate should be even enough to have a long-decadent Dragon Beast with several dozen babies with only your pre-ejaculatory liquid… But you are infertile, why? Hmm… Incredible…” The young woman widened her eyes, sunk her eyebrows, and looked at Heian Ciemnosc as if she knew all his secrets. Meanwhile, the oldie at the side seemed dead, but was just dumbstruck.
“Now, please, your left ring finger,” the young woman said, placing the panel she was reading through before down and gesturing towards the oldie. The oldie was already grasping a tiny needle, not even the size of a strand of hair, with his right index, ring finger and thumb.
“Hover your finger over and don’t move. It will be more painful. But this time, it will last less. It all relies on me, not on a device. Hold still.” The old man spoke but didn’t move. He let Heian Ciemnosc come closer and present his left ring finger 3 heads away from the oldie’s face. Without being brusque, the oldie tremblingly lifted his right hand. But when the needle’s tiniest, sharp tip was just 1 cm away from Heian Ciemnosc’s skin. The oldie became stable and swift.
“!” Heian Ciemnosc frowned directly, the needle went through his finger, and pain overcame him. But he relaxed right after and maintained his footing, as stiff as a tree, and felt as the needle dissolved. But also felt how he was increasingly feeling ‘naked’ the more he sensed it dissolving on its own.
Plop, drip drip.
“It’s done,” the oldie said after taking the needle out Heian Ciemnosc’s finger. It was still there and as complete as before, even with how small and thin it was. Heian Ciemnosc felt the pain gone, and his body felt like it had recovered its cover but had already been fully exposed. It was a strange sensation, possibly the most peculiar so far after the ‘that something’ from the times he didn’t know what a Soul truthfully was.
“You’re indeed infertile, is like your… Race was made for not reproducing. A new Race? The headmaster and the- they have to know… it’s so strange.” The oldie commented like he knew everything about Heian Ciemnosc’s secrets too. He passed the needle to the young woman, who respectfully took it and introduced it into the device. Right then, the oldie faced Heian Ciemnosc upwards and spoke.
“It seems like you’ve already formed a Soul, it’s true. And your innate Art is… unique? I have never seen anything similar. Well, that’s it for now. The Teacher told me to let you know. Someone’s waiting for you inside the Academy who wishes to talk to you face-to-face for a little. And your reward as the best participant and new Sub Student is half a year of free time in the library. Now go. There are more new Sub Students waiting to be admitted. Girl!”
When oldie addressed her, the young woman nodded and silently gestured to Heian Ciemnosc to stand in front of his document.
