Sheraf says "A new home, not isolated from everyone else. Other races to interact with and humans who don't know what elves are. Sounds like a lot of fun, how could I say no?"

"That's settled then. How long do you need to settle your affairs here?"

Brightfire says "You are going to spare her?"

"Of course. How could I not after seeing how much having another relative means to you? Besides, I promised to retrieve as many elves as I possibly could, so killing one would break that promise."

Sheraf says "Thank you and I am sorry for jumping to the wrong conclusion. I can hand over the inn and be ready to go in an hour or so. The only problem is I have saved up more gold than I can carry."

Stillwater says "Give any that you don't need to Ash. Not only has he bought the freedom of some of our people, but he also has been buying us supplies and materials."

"That isn't necessary, Stillwater."

Lin says "Ash, honey, hush. We are heading to a city where we will need gold and if she can't carry it then we may as well take it."

Sheraf gives Lin a smile and then she leaves the room to prepare to leave. As an elf living among humans she has probably long been prepared to leave quickly if needed. That is part of why I was willing to forgive her so easily, I can understand her caution.

Lin says "Brightfire, can you do me a favor?"

Brightfire says "Sure, what is it?"

Lin says "Can you record Stillwater introducing Sheraf to Silverstream for me? Or at least tell me about it afterwards?"

Brightfire laughs while Stillwater's face turns bright red making Lin laugh as well. Stillwater starts trying to deny that anything is going on, but his face and stuttering give him away.

Brightfire says "Sure, I can tell you about it. I don't know what you mean by record it?"

Lin says "Ash, can you make something that will record images? A magical version of a camera?"

"I don't know any enchantments that work that way, so it would take a while and some experimenting."

Lin says "Well, that won't work for this time then. But you should work on it when you can. I'm sure it will come in handy eventually."

"Okay, I will add it to my list of projects."

The girls continue teasing Stillwater, trying to admit to his feelings for Silverstream. Unfortunately for him, his face is bright red when Sheraf returns to the room. She is followed by a number of men carrying chests which they put on the floor.

After putting down the chests the men leave, only to return a few minutes later with more chests. They leave again and return one last time, in total there are twenty chests on the floor. Sheraf closes the door behind them after they leave the third time, then turns to Stillwater.

Sheraf says "Nephew, why are you blushing so hard?"

Brightfire laughs and says "We have been teasing him."

Sheraf says "If it has him as red as a dragar fruit, I can't wait to hear about it, but that can wait for later. These chests are the gold I can't carry, this inn has been very profitable and I don't have expensive tastes."

"Thank you, but are you sure? It probably took you a long time to amass this much gold, right?"

Sheraf says "It did, but gold has no value if you don't spend it. It has become more of a way of keeping score than anything else."

Lin says "Thank you, we will use it well."

Lin stops me from trying to refuse the gold with a look, so I keep my mouth shut. She takes the gold from the first four chests and then leaves the rest for me. So, I open the remaining sixteen chests and move all of the gold coins into my ring.

Each chest contained thousands of coins, so I shouldn't have to worry about money. That is unless I find another auction to attend or something similar. If I don't make any outrageous purchases, the gold should be enough for everything I want to buy and then some.

That means that I shouldn't have to waste time making magic items to sell. Which means, for the most part, I can relax and just enjoy this as a shopping trip. Going shopping with Lin should be quite fun, assuming no gods show up trying to take her as a mistress.

Sheraf says "Alright, I am set to go."

I open another gate to the ship, wait for the three of them to go through, and then close it. When Lin and I walk out of the room we are instantly the focus of every gaze. Be it employees or patrons, they are all staring at us and continue to as we walk out of the room.

Since our arrival triggered Sheraf leaving, everyone in town is probably curious about us. In a small town like this, her leaving is big news and everyone has probably heard about it by now. When we exit the inn, everyone on the street stops to look at us as well.

Instead of turning to leave the town, I take Lin and head towards the shops. I send my mana sense to scan through the shops until I find what I am looking for. Then I take Lin and head for a shop that deals in decorative housewares.

"I want to buy two rugs, but if you see anything you like we will get it as well. Just please, no more pink."

Lin says "Why don't you like pink? Wait, is that why none of the underwear you made me is pink?"

"Yes, it is my least favorite color. Although, if you want pink underwear, that I am okay with."

Lin laughs at me as we walk into the store, but she quickly becomes distracted. The store is on the higher end, with a lot of interesting or beautiful things. From the way Lin's eyes light up, I already know I am not getting out of here with just the two rugs.

I have already picked out the two rugs I want, both made of beast fur with extra cushioning sewn into the bottom. So, I follow Lin around to look at everything else first and keep my mouth shut. Lin picks out a dozen or so things that she wants for our rooms on the ship and in the castle.

The shop owner's eyes light up as she starts pointing out things that she wants. Most of them are purely decorative with no practical use whatsoever, but I am smart enough not to say that. Finally I point out the two rugs and after she feels how soft the fur is she agrees with my choices.

The total for everything comes to over two thousand gold, but I pay it without haggling. If it makes Lin happy, then I couldn't care less about how much it costs. To my relief, nothing she chose is pink, although she did look at some pink stuff just to tease me.
