I thank Lin and give her a kiss, before I start enchanting the suit while she watches. The mana rich silver has added a lot of room, enough that I am able to stack up a bunch of enchantments. The main enchantment that I put in is the new shapeshifting spell.
This way, even if I revert to my natural form, the suit will shift as well and won't be ruined. It also means that I will be able to change the suit to look however I want. If I want it to, it will even be able to change into jeans and a t-shirt.
The best part is that no matter what it looks like it will still provide all the other enchantments. With that in mind I add the enchantments for comfort and protection against heat and cold. There is still room left so I add some additional defensive enchantments just to use up the room.
Lin says "Ash, can you enchant my dress the same way?"
"Sure. You will just need to add some of the silver to it to increase the amount of mana available."
Lin says "Okay. Make me some more threads, please."
"Yes, ma'am."
With a smile I take out some more silver and start turning it into thread. Lin takes out a beautiful, pale blue dress and lays it out on the table. As soon as the thread is done she starts sewing it into the borders of the dress.
While she is working on the dress I go back to reading the book about meditation. When she is done with the dress, I take it and enchant it exactly like I did my suit. After I finish the enchantments I hand the dress back to Lin and watch her try it on.
She has fun changing it into different styles, colors, and types of materials. Considering some of those materials are transparent, I keep watching with a smile on my face. When Lin stops playing with the dress she finally notices me watching.
Lin says "Enjoying yourself?"
"Oh, absolutely!"
Lin smiles and says "That's good. After the ball we can play with the dress a bit and see what else it can do. Wait, doesn't this mean all that time I spent working on outfits was wasted?!"
"No, not entirely. There are things that the dress can't do. Besides, I can't exactly rip the dress off of you."
Lin says "Hm, I guess you have a point."
"Now that our outfits are done, do you want to stay here or go to the library?"
Lin says "It is already almost time for dinner, we may as well take the day off. We wouldn't get much accomplished anyway."
The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
"Fine by me. Since we have our new outfits, why don't we go out for dinner? This city must have some nice restaurants."
Lin says "That sounds nice! Let's do it."
So, we head out and on the way I ask an employee for a recommendation for a place to eat. He tells me about the best restaurant in the city, which is also on the main square. Since it is nearby, we decide to walk over to it, but the employee says we need a reservation.
However, I ignore his warning and head over to the restaurant with Lin. As we walk across the square, a lot of people stop and stare at the two of us. Lin isn't wearing her disguise, so the men staring is to be expected, but women are staring too.
We both ignore the stares and soon arrive at the entrance to the restaurant. It is obviously a high class place based on how opulent the entrance is. The hostess, instead of asking if we have a reservation, immediately welcomes us.
We are led to a private room on the second floor with a view of the square. We can also see the association building on the other side of the square. Our waiter arrives as we are sitting down, he already has a bottle of wine in his hands.
The waiter is very polite and he pours us each a glass of wine, but he doesn't ask for our order. Once the wine is poured he leaves, but he is back a few minutes later pushing a cart. On the cart are dozens of plates of delicious smelling food, which he moves to the table.
Both the wine and the food are absolutely amazing, although the serving sizes are small. Lin is probably fine, but there is no way that I am going to get full from this. However, it is still an enjoyable meal and from her smile I can tell Lin is enjoying it.
Soon the waiter returns with another cart full of food, it looks like they know I am not human. Soon enough Lin is only taking a bite or two of each dish and leaving the rest for me. She is already full, but she still wants to taste everything and I can't blame her.
The waiter returns with a third cart full of dishes and so far not a single dish has been repeated. It looks like they are serving us the entire menu, which is fine by me. By the time we have finished the third set of dishes the waiter is back.
He asks if there are any dishes we would like more of before he serves dessert. Lin and I name the dishes we liked the most and the waiter leaves to fetch them. When he returns with the dishes, they go straight into the food pouch.
When I see Lin's eyes light up I know that the waiter has returned with the desserts. It is another cart full of desserts, from pies and cakes to things I don't have a name for. Lin, who is supposed to be full, starts trying the desserts as soon as they hit the table.
Luckily, there is more than enough for both of us to have a taste of everything. It is fun listening to Lin moan after putting a bite of something sweet into her mouth. I can't blame her, when I eat a bite of cake it is like heaven in my mouth.
All of the desserts are delicious, but Lin eats more than she should and ends up with a stomach ache. Of course, the best of the desserts also end up going into the food pouch. However, when I ask for the check the waiter just smiles and shakes his head.
"What?"
Waiter says "Your meal has already been covered."
"By who?"
Waiter says "The owner."
"And who is the owner?"
Waiter says "His name is Nakado and he is a member of the council. We received orders for your special treatment a couple of days ago just in case you chose to eat here."
"A council member? That makes sense I guess. Well, I will have to be sure to thank him, the food was amazing."
The waiter bows in response and escorts us out, but as soon as we are outside Lin asks to be carried. She ate too much and doesn't want to walk across the square, so I pick her up. Then I carry her like a princess across the square and back to our suite.
