"That would be perfect! But do you have the resources for that?"
Yui says "I just have to build the room. I still have plenty of teleporters and the training materials can just be moved."
"Alright, let's do that then!"
Yui says "The construction will take some time."
"No problem. It will be a while before we train more mage knights. At least until Kitara can pass the captain trial, then she will be the trainer for the next group."
Kitara says "Me? Really? Shouldn't it be Myria?"
"No, Myria will be leaving with me. She has other things to take care of, you will be in charge of the mage knights."
Myria says "You are really going to take me with you?"
"Once you finish your training, yes. I promised, didn't I?"
Myria yells "Yay!!"
Then Myria gets up and dances around the table making everyone laugh. It is obvious that she is extremely happy, but after one lap around the table she resumes eating. Her new body requires a lot more nutrients so her skipping a meal is not likely to happen.
Luckily, since I have the food pouch, her traveling with us won't cause any problems. In fact, other than the tower, the inn, or with me, she would have problems getting enough food. It is something to keep in mind in the future if I need to send her out on her own.
After dinner I chase the kids around for a while to wear them out and then we head to bed. Passing the dining room I notice that Myria and Kitara are still there, practicing. Their dedication is impressive, but I may need to tell them to calm down a little.
After all, rushing through the training will keep them from properly learning the basics. Without the proper foundation they won't be able to become real mage knights. Although I will give them a bit of time, the excitement of something new should fade quickly.
Instead of sleeping, like the four kids surrounding me, I stay awake to plot out my next moves. After spending a few days training Myria and the guards in the basics I will work on the tribes. By then Pol should have information for me and Muyaun might even send news.
I am also waiting on Knarra to send word about the rat tribe and how they feel about me. Hopefully, if I can get enough tribes to follow me without bloodshed then the other tribes will feel pressured. Ideally, I would like all the tribes to submit without bloodshed, well except the bunny tribe.
Hopefully that bloodshed will be limited to Myria's mother, but that isn't guaranteed. Her mother has been in power for a long time and she probably has plenty of people who are loyal to her. Whether they will fight with her or submit to her daughter is going to be a big factor.
This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.
Of course, I hope that they will transfer their loyalty to Myria, but I doubt things will be that simple. Anyway, that is a worry about the future, I will just have to wait and see what happens. I end up spending the entire night working on plans and contingencies.
In the morning, about an hour before breakfast, I decide to get my revenge. With the kids all sleeping peacefully I suddenly jump to my feet and start jumping up and down. After bouncing them awake I turn to tickling while I have the upper hand.
Once they wake up fully and start trying to fight back I jump off the bed. Before they can gang up on me I flee the room and head to the dining room. They chase after me but they don't manage to catch up before the dining room.
"No playing in the dining room, or no breakfast!"
That makes them freeze, none of them are willing to miss a meal just to get revenge. They have no choice but to wait for another time to try and get back at me. As I sit down at the head of the table I stick my tongue out at them.
Yui says "That is really mature of you, Ash. Is this the example you want to set for your kids?"
"They are kids, let them enjoy it! They can worry about being mature when they grow up."
Yui says "In that case, when are you going to grow up?"
"When I have to! And not a moment before!"
Luckily, Myria, Kitara, and Windy come in and put an end to Yui teasing me. Nived is not far behind them and behind him come the sprites carrying breakfast. As usual the food takes everyone's attention and no conversation happens until the food is gone.
The kids finish eating first and hurry off to play, the four of them are getting along really well. Thanks to their sisters both Ekard and Haku have become much less dependent on me. I count it as a good thing considering how much time I am having to spend away from them recently.
Once everyone else is done eating Nived heads to Illium and I go with Myria and Kitara. I spend the entire day making sure the guards all get the basics down. The guards and Kitara don't have a problem with me bossing them around, but Myria is a different story.
Myria says "How long are you going to be training us? I don't like you when you are training us!"
"Until everyone has the basics down."
Kitara says "Myria, if you didn't try to argue so much it wouldn't be so bad!"
Myria says "I can't help it! None of this meditation stuff makes sense!"
"That is because you can't calm your mind!"
Myria says "How can I calm my mind? I can't even sit still!"
"Oh? Hold on a second."
Walking over I put a hand on Myria's shoulder and scan her with my sacred power. What I find is a little disturbing, her heart is beating faster than it should be. Or at least, faster than her old heart did, I am not sure if it would be normal for the rabbit beast.
The problem is, I am not sure if I can adjust the heart without causing other problems. Especially since her beast core has tied itself to her heart, another thing I didn't expect. Taking a look at the rest of her body I find several other things that have changed on their own.
I can't be sure if the changes are caused by the beast core or by the heart. Either way, messing with things when I don't understand them is a dangerous idea. Myria's body has already gone through a lot of changes, me messing around could kill her.
"Okay, Myria, it looks like it isn't your fault after all."
Myria says "What does that mean?"
"Your new heart is beating faster than your old one. That is probably why you can't stand to sit still."
Myria says "Is there something wrong with my heart?"
