It is beautiful, but when I look even closer I realize all the stars I am looking at are actually spells. The orb is the size of a basketball and easily contains tens of thousands of spells within it. The sheer amount of power I can feel contained within the orb is amazing.
If this thing were to explode there wouldn't be a mountain here, there might not even be a peninsula. The fact that I am about to mess with the orb makes me very nervous. Even with that I still find myself getting lost in the beauty of the thing.
"Yui, please tell me I don't have to feed my power to each individual spell!"
Yui says "No, I will handle that. You just need to feed the power to me."
"What do you mean to you?"
Yui says "The orb, it is me. For all intents and purposes the orb is my physical body."
"Cool! Okay, so you just want me to feed my power to the orb?"
Yui says "Yes, but not all at once. If you can, give me a steady stream."
"Okay, tell me when to stop."
I gently reach out and touch the orb, half afraid I will break it somehow. When nothing happens I start to slowly feed my sacred power to the orb through my hand. As my power flows into it, lines I hadn't noticed light up on the orb.
It is soon covered in magical designs and writings all glowing gold as my power fills them. Then once the orb is full the stars within it start to brighten one by one. It is a beautiful sight and it has me so distracted that it takes Yui several tries to get my attention.
"I'm sorry, what did you say?"
Yui says "I said that should be enough."
"Oh, okay."
Even after I stop the flow of power into the orb I am mesmerized by the process happening within it. Some of the dimmest stars change color as they brighten, while others hardly change at all. I can't help but stand there and watch until the process is completed.
"So, did it work?"
Yui says "Yes! It worked perfectly!"
"I still have some more sacred power if you need it."

Yui says "No, I have enough. I am going to be able to rejuvenate and enhance all the spells for the tower."
"Oh, alright. Is there anything else I can do?"
Yui says "No, thank you. With this the tower will be better than new. It should be able to last another five thousand years now."
"That's great!"
Yui says "Lunch is about to be served if you want to head upstairs."
"Alright."
It is with some disappointment that I leave the room, I could stare at the orb all day. However, if I am going to leave tomorrow I need to get things ready. So I head up and join the others for lunch, once we are done eating I tell the others the plan.
Nived says "So I am going to be here on my own?"
"Only temporarily, Kechara and Asuna will return once I leave the mountain. Once I reach Illium and get the teleporters up there will be people coming here."
Nived says "Alright, is there anything I need to do?"
"Just learn as much as you can. Yui will need help teaching once students start arriving."
Nived says "So, I am to be a teacher as well?"
"Yes, if you don't mind. We desperately need to increase our magical power before the war starts. So teaching more mages is very important."
Nived says "Alright, just don't forget about me."
"Don't worry. One of the main reasons for the teleporters is so I can come visit easily. Besides, they work both ways, when Yui doesn't need you, you can visit Illium."
Nived says "Will that be okay?"
"Yeah, just be prepared for the humans to react to your appearance."
Nived says "Won't I cause problems for you then?"
"No, I own the entire street that the inn is on. That's where our teleporter will be. No one can cause me problems there."
Nived says "Okay! I would like to see a city in this world."
"At some point you will."
Yui says "Is there anything else you need for your trip, Ash?"
"Nothing important. I had planned to ask about the spices and recipes, oh and a set of sheets and stuff for my bed in Illium."
Yui says "Alright, I will have all that ready to go in the morning."
"Thank you. Once we leave it shouldn't be more than a month or so before the teleporters activate."
Nived says "Okay, a month isn't too bad."
Yui says "Can't you just fly down the mountain?"
"I would if I had any idea how to fly! I need to figure it out and get some practice before I try flying down a mountain."
Yui says "Oh, I thought that would be instinctual."
"It is for say Kechara, but I wasn't born like this. I will have to learn the hard way."
Yui says "You could use the basement if you want to get some practice before you leave."
"Thanks, that's a good idea."
Since there isn't anything else to discuss I head down to the basement. Everyone but Nived follows me, probably so they can laugh at me. In Kechara's case she has every right to, after all I laughed at her when she was learning.
The first thing I try is gliding from the top of the stairs, which doesn't go too bad. The main problem is figuring out how to turn so I can avoid running into a column. Needless to say my first few attempts don't go so well, and the others get a lot of entertainment.
Only once I can manage not to run into anything do I try flapping my wings. It turns out that my wings have the same strength as the rest of my body. I find this out when the first time I try flapping I end up hitting my head on the ceiling.
By the time dinner is ready I can kind of fly a little, but that is inside where there is no wind. When Yui announces dinner I am more than ready for a break, my shoulders hurt something fierce. If it wasn't for my regen my entire body would be black and blue from all the crashes.
