Ep. 823 The Magic Kingdom Part 7

A quick scan of the chest verifies that there are exactly one million crystal coins. So I pick one up to take a look at it, only to find that each and every coin is enchanted. It is only a tiny enchant and from what I can tell it is mainly to prevent anyone from counterfeiting them.

Other than that all the enchantment really does is keep the coins clean and shiny. It just goes to show that the mages of the Magic Kingdom are fairly vain. Instead of putting them in my pouch, I store the crystal coins into my ring.

Manager says "Alright, now if you will follow me, your materials are ready!"

Following the manager, we leave the shop through the back door and then cross a courtyard. On the other side of the courtyard is the warehouse and inside is a large stack of crates. First I scan the stack with my mana to verify the amounts, then I load everything into my ring.

Manager says "Amazing! I don't suppose you have more storage items to sell, do you?"

"No, sorry. I have only come across the materials needed once."

Manager says "What materials do you need? Maybe my merchant group can get them?"

Since I don't know what the name of the spatial stone is I have to describe its properties. That is really the only rare material I need to be able to make a storage ring. Of course, there is no way I will make a ring like mine for someone else.

However, a basic storage ring wouldn't be a big deal, it is just like a bag of holding. I want to have plenty of money for the auction, so if they can get the materials I wouldn't mind making some rings. Of course, even if they provide the materials I still plan to charge them a lot for making the rings.

Manager says "We call that stone the Void Stone. While it is extremely rare, we should have a couple in storage. The stone itself isn't that valuable because no one has figured out a use for it! Can you really use it to make a storage item?"

"Yes. Specifically a storage ring. The one main drawback is that it cannot store organic materials."

Manager says "So that's why you took the materials but not the crates themselves!"

"Exactly. The advantage, other than being a ring, is that it can store a lot more than a bag of holding. I can make one ring for each fist sized stone and I will charge you one million crystal coins for each ring."

Manager says "Understood. I will immediately notify the owners and let them make the decision."

"Fair enough. In that case I will return to my inn. You can send me a message there once the owners are ready to meet me."

With an agreeing nod the manager escorts me back through the shop to the street. With nothing else that I really need to do, I head back to the inn to wait. Once I am back in the room I have some lunch with Grimgar and then continue teaching him.

Two hours later there is a knock on the door, when I answer it an employee of the inn informs me there is someone asking for me. When I head downstairs I find the messenger is from the merchant group. He informs me that one of the owners will be meeting me for dinner.

After getting directions to the restaurant I tip the messenger a couple of gold. Then I head back upstairs to continue teaching Grimgar until it is time to leave. Once it is close to time I leave Grimgar to practice and head to the restaurant.

When I arrive a cute waitress asks my name and then escorts me upstairs to a private box. Inside the luxurious box is an old balding man with a full beard that has turned silver. From his body I can tell he was once powerful, but he is no longer in shape.

Giller Says "Welcome! Please have a seat. My name is Giller, one of the owners of the merchant group. My partners have entrusted me with the authority to handle all issues. First, here is your invitation to the auction. Also, this is a map of the capital. The location marked is our manor where you are welcome to stay during your visit."

"Greetings, Giller. My name is Ash, it's a pleasure to meet you!"

Giller says "Would you like to handle the other business first or have dinner first?"

"Let's go ahead and get all the business out of the way first."

Giller says "Alright. In that case can you show me the plants you want to sell?"

In response I take out the remaining twelve plants from my pouch and put them on the table. Giller takes out a magnifying glass and carefully examines each of the plants. He has a pretty good poker face, but he can't control the gleam in his eyes as he studies them.

Giller says "As you can imagine, our merchant group has a lot of funds invested in the auction. Of our remaining available funds, most have been set for use to have you make some storage rings. Unfortunately, that means we can't currently afford to purchase these from you. However, I do have another option for you. You want to sell these to raise funds to spend at the auction correct?"

"Yes, that is correct. What is this option?"

Giller says "First, can I ask what tier of items you are interested in?"

"Middle and high tier."

Giller says "Nine of these are low-tier, the other three are mid-tier. What we can do is put them up in the auction for you. The manager should have explained that different tiers are sold on different days right?"

"Yes, he did mention it."

Giller says "The sales of each day are paid out at the end of that day. Meaning the funds from selling low-tier will be available to spend the next day and so on."

"Alright, I get it. So what percent does your merchant group take for selling them for me?"

Giller smiles and says "Ten percent!"

"Fair enough. Then I will leave it to you to sell these plants."

Giller says "Thank you! Now on to the last matter. We would like to purchase three storage rings from you. Here are the stones and we agree to the price of one million crystal coins each on delivery."

"Alright, it should only take me a day or two. Where should I deliver them?"

Giller says "Bring them here. This is my restaurant, just come and ask for me. Oh, that reminds me! Here, this is our merchant group VIP card. It is good in any business we own."

"Thank you."

Giller says "Now that the business is handled, let's eat!"

Soon a group of waiters arrive pushing carts full of dishes, very quickly the entire table is covered in food. There are all types of dishes and I happily set about trying all of them. The food is top quality and I enjoy most of the dishes immensely.
