Ep. 1238 Chaos in the Empire Part 13

"Okay, so an item is out. What would happen if I stopped being your champion for a while?"

Krenocia says "You would lose all the levels you have gained as a Sacred Crusader as well as your divine power. Even if you become our champion again later, you would have to start over."

"Ugh! No, that's not worth it. I will have to think of something else. What about followers? Can you be found out through your followers?"

Krenocia says "No. There is not enough of our energy in a follower to be found easily. For us to be discovered, a follower of ours would have to have their soul searched by a god."

"So, if I had someone else deliver a message, that would be safe?"

Krenocia says "Yes, it should be. What kind of message are you thinking of sending? And to whom?"

"Well, I was thinking that if we let his pantheon know some of what Holos has been up to, it would cause him problems. Especially since the empire his church is in is overrun with demons. It shouldn't be hard to convince them that he has made deals with the demons. Or something along those lines. I am still working on it."

Krenocia says "If you could pull it off, that has a high chance of working."

Seronia says "Two problems, getting the message to them and convincing them to believe it."

"I know. Like I said, it is a work in progress. If I could talk to them directly it would be much easier. The emperor of the southern empire and I could be called friends, I am wondering if he could deliver the message."

Krenocia says "If you could convince him, they would at least listen to a message from him."

"What if I went to him to ask why his pantheon is causing problems in my territory? After all, the empire attacked us first. If I then tell him about the demons and convince him to pass the message up, would that work?"

Krenocia says "It might. I can't say for sure since I don't know the goddess in charge very well, but it has a chance at least."

Seronia says "As much as I hate to admit it, even if it doesn't work one hundred percent, it is likely to make them suspicious of Holos."

"So, it's worth a try?"

Krenocia says "Yeah, I think so. As long as you don't meet the goddess directly, there should be no down side even if you fail."

"Alright. I will go visit Emperor Amn once things settle down a bit."

If you come across this story on Amazon, it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.

Krenocia says "Just try to be careful!"

"I will. I also hope to discredit Holos enough that even if he tells the pantheon about the two of you, they won't believe him."

Krenocia says "That isn't very likely, but we can hope."

Seronia says "Are we done here?"

"Yes, that should be it."

Seronia leaves immediately, but Krenocia sticks around a little longer just to chat. She also tells me what she remembers about the southern pantheon, but it isn't much. Before she leaves, she kisses me thoroughly and then I end the soulscape.

With that taken care of, I head to my workshop to take a look at the armor and sword. Disenchanting them turns out to be really simple, it is just like with mana. Redoing the divine enchantments that I want to use is also fairly simple.

Now comes the hard part, figuring out how to keep the divine enchantments separate. Since this will be the real experiment, I use the sword to test out some theories. Out of the two, I want the armor more, so if anything is going to be ruined I would prefer it if it is the sword.

Surprisingly, my first idea ends up working perfectly, I just create a barrier between the two. I got the idea from the isolation enchantment that I used to keep spacial enchantments from interacting. Honestly, I was expecting it to be much harder to figure out, but I am not about to complain.

Besides, I came up with an idea for the sword, but I am not sure if I can pull it off. In numerous anime, manga, and even movies, there have been swords that could split into two. Although impractical, I have always thought that it was an awesome idea.

While it is impractical to do through forging, doing it with magic is another story. I got the idea from the shapeshifting enchantment that was on the sword originally. I want to see if I can give the sword forms to cover any situation that might come up.

I want it to have a two-handed, single handed, twin swords, and polearm forms. That should cover all the situations that I can think of, now the trick is figuring out the enchantment. Shapeshifting will cover everything but the twin swords form.

Making the sword able to separate into two parts is going to require a new enchantment. Luckily, it is far easier to create new enchantments with mana than it is with divine power. In the end, it takes me over two hours before I manage to get the enchantment to do what I want.

I came fairly close to destroying the sword a couple of times, but it worked out in the end. Once that is sorted out, the rest of the enchantments are easy. As soon as the sword is finished, I move straight to working on the armor.

The armor ends up being much easier since I don't need to come up with any new enchantments. Or at least that was how it was supposed to go, but as I am working on it I have another idea. Thinking back to the armor that the ancient fire god used, I want to do something similar.

In order to do so, I work on turning my Storm Armor spell into an enchantment. Since it is a mana based spell, it isn't too hard, it just takes a bit of time. Of course, I don't want to be surrounded by lightning all the time, I might hurt someone on my side.

So, I make the enchantment to be activated at will, which actually makes the enchantment easier to make. However, it does end up using quite a bit of capacity, which limits what else I can add. Luckily, I already did the divine enchantments so the armor doesn't need much else.

The best part is that when I activate the enchantment, the lightning will heal me. Between that, my normal regen, and my healing spells, I will be pretty much unkillable. Unless I run into something strong enough to kill me in a couple of hits that is.

However, I don't think that even the demon lords are that strong, at least I hope not. Then again, if they are that strong, then nothing that I have done will matter. I really wish that there was a way for me to get one of the demon lords alone so I can test their strength.
