As I move back towards the drake I am a lot more cautious, that claw strike hurt. Even though it healed almost instantly I still felt the pain of being ripped open. That is not an experience I want to repeat if I can help it, which I probably can't.
The drake is keeping its focus on me, even though I didn't hurt it much. It probably isn't used to facing opponents that can actually hurt it, it got cocky too. Suddenly, it twists its head around as it lets out a roar of pain, Lizzy attacked it.
As it turns to face Lizzy I dash in and take another swing at its neck, this time watching its claws. As soon as Blitz hits its neck its claws flash towards me but this time I manage to dodge. Having to dodge keeps me from doing any damage, but it does bring the drake's attention back on me.
That is until Lizzy rips a large chunk of its wing membrane off, getting its attention. It quickly turns to face her and I can see it is getting ready to use its breath weapon against her. So I dash over as fast as I can and throw myself in front of Lizzy so the lightning hits me.

After absorbing the lightning I feel amazing, but the drake looks really pissed off. Lizzy took a big enough chunk out of its wing that it might have trouble flying. The drake snaps its head forward, intending to bite me, but Lizzy reacts faster.
With a stomp of one of her feet a rock spike erupts from the ground under the drake's chest. It doesn't manage to penetrate the scales but it does lift the front half of the drake's body into the air. It completely ruins the drake's attack on me and probably leaves behind some bruises.
It seems having Lizzy watch Avatar was totally the right decision, she learned some tricks. This would be the perfect time for me to attack but I am so surprised by her move that I miss my chance. I am not used to fighting with someone, especially someone who reacts faster than I do.
After this is over, assuming we survive, we should really get some practice fighting together. Lizzy starts moving to the left, so as soon as I notice I start moving right. The drake swings its head back and forth trying to keep an eye on both of us.
Then it makes up its mind and turns to go after Lizzy, as it does I cut a long slash in its other wing. However, it ignores me and continues to go after Lizzy, but she is too fast. As she is dodging I notice something, the ground is smooth and firm under her feet.
However, where the drake is the ground is soft and sandy, slowing down its movement just a little bit. It shows just how much control Lizzy has gained, and she can still improve. As the drake is trying to catch her I run up behind its back leg and strike with Blitz.

While it isn't a deep wound, it is enough to slow down the drake a bit more. It is also enough to get the drake's attention, it tries to turn to come after me. However, I stay in the shadow of its leg as it moves and strike at the same spot again.
Since I am next to the base of the tail, it can't hit me with its tail, so it tries to stomp on me. That is easy enough for me to avoid and I even manage to hit the same spot for the third time. That should be enough damage to cripple the leg, at least that is what I hope.
When the drake moves again it does seem to be favoring that leg which makes me happy. The slower the drake is the better our odds of winning this fight become. The drake lifts its wings out of the way and its head comes back towards me with its mouth open.
Lizzy takes the opportunity and bites into the drake's neck, she skids a few feet but manages to stop it. The drake's teeth snap shut less than a foot away from me, its breath is foul. Before it can try to bite me again I quickly move to the other side of the drake's body.
As soon as I am clear Lizzy rips a chunk out of the drake's neck and retreats. She gets out of range just in time to avoid the drake's counterattack. The wound on its neck is bleeding freely and its other wounds show no sign of healing.
Just as I am thinking we are doing well I notice a glint in the clouds above the drake. Without stopping to think I bring my wings out, fly up, and hover directly above the drake. Seconds later a massive lightning bolt comes down from above and hits me.

'I will have to look into cultivating during a lightning storm later!'
The drake cranes its neck back to look at me and stares at me with utter hatred. I'm guessing that the drake summoned the lightning to heal his wounds. That means as long as I stay in the air and intercept the lightning he can't heal his wounds.
It will also help my core, it makes me wonder if it is lightning in general or there is something special about the drake. It is certainly the first beast I have encountered that is able to summon lightning. It is something I will have to test out later when I get the chance.
For now, preventing the drake from healing is the most important thing I can do. That leaves Lizzy doing most of the work, but she has proven to be plenty capable. If I can keep distracting the drake then Lizzy should have a pretty easy time doing the damage.
While the drake is staring up at me with murder in its eyes Lizzy takes another big chunk out of its wing. Now it won't be able to fly for sure, giving me the ability to stay out of reach. When the drake turns to Lizzy I drop down and slash at the top of its neck just behind the head.
The drake ducks to avoid my attack but it distracts it enough for Lizzy to get another bite in. When I see the dragon again I really need to thank him, if not for his lessons I couldn't do this. Thanks to his training I know how the drake can attack and its range of movement.
So I continue hovering around its head, just out of its reach, unless it jumps. Which it tries a few times, but it is such a big movement that I have no problem keeping out of the way. With me distracting it constantly Lizzy is able to get a lot of little attacks in and a few big ones.
The drake is now bleeding a lot, but it doesn't try to summon the lightning again because I am staying above it. It is a little disappointing since absorbing the lightning would help with my core. However, it isn't worth the risk of letting the drake heal to try and tease it into summoning more lightning.
