There is no way that I haven't already been spotted, so I decide to satisfy my curiosity. There is still a chance that I can get the fire gem if it doesn't absorb enough fire. I already have an escape plan in mind, so I am not too worried about getting captured.
The twelve figures soon arrive and stand in the air not far from where the wall stood. Of the angels, five of them are male and the remaining three are female. The four avatars are all males and one of them is someone I vaguely recognize.
It is the avatar of the war god that I beat down a while ago and from the look on his face he recognizes me as well. However, he doesn't make a move and just stares at the fire gem intently. There is very little of the wall left at this point, but the gem is glowing brightly.
In fact, the gem is now brighter than the fire around it and pulsing faster. I am starting to think that all my efforts have been in vain and the fire god is going to be reborn. The avatars probably wouldn't be here if they didn't think the same.
If they want to kill the fire god, when it is first reborn would be the best time. If that is what is going to happen, I certainly don't want to be standing next to the fire god. Then again, if they are going to fight, I kind of want to watch the show.
I am curious about how powerful the fire god is as well as the avatars. I did defeat the war god's avatar, but I don't know if he used his full strength or not. I am also curious about the angels, are they as strong as the avatars?
I think I am as strong as an avatar in a one on one situation, but that might just be my arrogance speaking. To be honest, when I fought the god of war's avatar, it took a lot for me to win. If the other god’s avatars are stronger than his, then I might lose to them.
I would definitely lose if it was four on one, so the safest thing would be for me to leave now. However, my curiosity is compelling me to stay and see what happens. I know that I shouldn't listen to my curiosity, but I can't help it, I really want to know what is going to happen.
The lightning storm is still going strong, but there are still a few demonic beasts alive out there. I have no idea how they have gotten lucky enough to not be struck yet. However, with the amount of lightning pouring down, their luck won't last for long.
The last chunks of the wall disappear and the last of the fires are absorbed by the gem and my spell. Luckily, the spell immediately starts losing power, my fears didn't come to pass. Yet, just as I am thinking nothing else is going to happen, a cracking sound comes from the gem.

The avatars, the angels, and I all stare intently at the fire gem, waiting. A few seconds pass and then more cracking sounds come from it in quick succession. I can see the cracks spreading across the gem, it looks like an egg that got dropped.
The avatars and the angels all ready their weapons, but I don't take my eyes off the gem. Suddenly, the area around the gem heats up to the point that I can actually feel it. Then, the gem shatters all at once and a tall male figure appears in its place.
Surprisingly, he is not made of fire, but his skin is red and has flames dancing on it. The flames quickly thicken and form into armor over his body and a huge ax in his hands. He barely even glances at me, all of his attention is on the avatars and angels.
Fire God says "You weaklings think that you can kill me without descending in person?! Haha, you thought I would be weakened due to my rebirth?! Fools! Face my full power!"
The fire god doesn't give them any chance to respond, he just waves his ax at them. A wave of fire is generated by the ax and heads towards the avatars and angels. The four avatars move forward to meet the wave while the angels move behind them.
The avatars cut through the fire wave and then two of them advance to attack the fire god. The two are attacking in melee range while the other two and the angels attack from range. It is a strangely silent battle because I can't hear anything over the thunder.
I am starting to think that this might be a good time for me to leave, but then I spot something. Directly under the fire god is a piece of the fire gem about the size of a golf ball. I decide to wait around for a bit and see if I might get a chance to grab it.
Despite being outnumbered, the fire god manages to push back the avatars. So far, I would say that the fire god is winning, but the fight is far from over. Many attacks are landing on the fire god, but so far his armor has stopped them all.
Seeing how effective it is, I focus on the armor itself to see if I can learn how it works. I have the spell Storm Armor, but it isn't anywhere near as effective as his fire armor. In fact, I can't even remember the last time that I bothered to use the spell.
On the other hand, if the fire god wins the fight I might be able to replace my lost armor. Either way, I still study the fire armor while watching the fight. It isn't created by a spell, it is probably one of the god's abilities, but I can still learn from it.
In fact, the avatars and angels are also using spells and abilities that I can learn from. Even if I don't get anything else from this battle it is still worth watching. Right now, I wouldn't stand much of a chance against them, but that will change if I can study how they fight.
The way they use their abilities is similar to how I use my pure mana without a spell structure. However, there are some differences, especially since they aren't using mana. They are using Divine Power, but they are using it directly instead of through a spell.
I have done the same a few times when I was experimenting, before I got yelled at. Other than adding some divine enchantments to the castle, I haven't used my divine power much. Mainly because I didn't want to get in trouble with Seronia and Krenocia again.
However, after watching how the avatars and angels are fighting, I am tempted. As long as I don't mix it with mana I shouldn't get into trouble for using it. Then again, I should probably ask for permission if I really want to avoid getting in trouble.
