Ep. 1250 The Raid Part 2

Myria says "I hope so. Well, since I can't talk you out of it, I guess I will just say good luck. However, don't think you are getting away with something, I will be telling Lin about this."

"I figured you would. Don't worry, I will be back soon."

As soon as I am done speaking to Myria, I pray to Krenocia before anything else can happen. As soon as I start praying, I feel a force grab me and pull me to somewhere else. When I look around, I find myself on the shore of a dark and disturbing looking river.

I instantly recognize it from my last visit and know that I am in Krenocia's realm. I remember her warnings from last time, so I don't move from my spot and wait for her to appear. Luckily, she doesn't keep me waiting for long, although she does look amused when she shows up.

Krenocia says "You don't like my realm, do you? I can't say that I blame you, I don't like it much either. Unfortunately, this is what my followers expect it to look like. I am the goddess of death after all."

"Yeah, I get that. It just takes some getting used to."

Krenocia says "That's not necessary, you won't be here long. I am going to take you to the very edge of Holos' domain. It is less likely that he will detect the intrusion there."

"Sounds good to me. I am ready to go."

Krenocia says "Alright. Stay safe and be ready to run at any time. Don't take any chances with Holos, you won't stand a chance against him."

"I won't be going anywhere near him."

Krenocia says "Alright. Let me know as soon as you are out."

"Will do."

Krenocia then turns towards the river and after a few seconds I notice a strange movement. The water is swirling and after about a minute or so, it forms a tunnel. Sneaking into Holos' domain doesn't scare me, but entering that river does.

Krenocia says "This isn't exactly easy, you know? What are you waiting for? Get going!"

Krenocia doesn't give me a chance to respond or ask any questions, of which I have a few. Instead, she just grabs me by the shoulder and throws me into the tunnel. As soon as I enter the tunnel, everything starts spinning and I feel like I just got flushed down a toilet.

The worst part is that the feeling goes on for several minutes and I have to struggle not to puke. Eventually, it ends and I feel myself lying on some nice soft grass. Even though it is over, I just lay there for a few minutes trying to recover.

A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

The odd thing is that I am not wet at all, the water didn't seem to touch me at all. I can't help but feel that this is Krenocia's way of punishing me for coming up with a crazy plan, again. Even if that's true, it doesn't matter since she got me here, wherever here is.

When I finally stand up and take a look around I find myself on the edge of a forest. It is the edge, literally, when I look behind me there is nothing, the world just stops. It is a completely white void, almost like a wall of fog, but it is perfectly still.

As I stand there, I can't help but wonder what would happen if I were to step into it. Would I go back to the real world, or would I just be lost within the void? However, I am not quite curious enough to try it, at least not right now.

I walk into the forest, heading away from the void, but I quickly realize that it isn't a real forest. There is no life, no small animals, no birds, nothing but trees and grass. It isn't a forest, it is more like what someone who has never been in a forest might think one looks like.

Unfortunately, the absence of undergrowth will make it harder to hide if I need to. Hopefully, I won't need to hide, but in order for that to be the case, I need to put on my disguise. So, I picture in my mind the six-winged angel that I killed in as much detail as I can.

Then, I add what the internals should look like, which is easy since they are close to a human. Once I have the image as detailed as I can make it, I activate shapeshift. Taking a new humanoid form after using the beastman for so long feels weird.

Having six wings feels even more weird and even throws my balance off. I spend a few minutes getting used to the new body and then I attempt to fly. The six wings actually make flying easier, once I figure out how to control them.

Luckily, it is a lot easier than when I first learned how to fly and a lot less painful. As I am flying around getting used to the new form, I spot what looks like a group of humans. From what Krenocia has told me, these should be the souls of Holos' followers.

There are only six of them and since I want to test my disguise, I approach them and land. At first, they act respectfully towards me, but then they seem to recognize me. It looks like I made this form too similar to the angel I killed, the humans try to attack me.

Either that, or they are attacking me because they know all of the six-winged angels. Whichever it may be, the six of them quickly surround me and attack me with their weapons. Unfortunately for them, their weapons can't hurt me, but mine most certainly can hurt them.

6 Human Souls defeated! 600 Soul Exp gained!

'I got soul exp for killing them?! I mean, I guess it makes some kind of sense, but it is still not what I was expecting! Maybe I do have a new goal for while I am here.'

The six souls dissipate along with their weapons and armor once I kill them. Nothing is left behind, much like when I kill things in the worlds connected to the hallway. This domain seems to act on similar rules to those worlds, except I am here with my real body.

It makes me wonder if I would be able to open gates to those worlds and visit them for real. It would be interesting to experiment with, but I doubt I will have the time. At least, not anytime soon, but I may get the chance later, once a few things are out of the way.

As I am standing there thinking, a four-winged angel lands next to me and looks around. He isn't even looking at me, in fact he asks me what happened here. He doesn't seem to suspect me at all, not until my sword takes his head off anyway.

1 Rank 6 Angel defeated! 6,000 Exp gained!

I quickly take the angel's core and then start to move away from the corpse. However, I quickly change my mind and find a nearby tree to hide behind. I decide to wait around and see who shows up next looking for the dead angel.
