The walls are lined with the heads of beasts I have never seen before, and there are a couple of complete bodies in the corners. While there is a desk in the room from the chairs around it I doubt any work was ever done in here. It looks more like the kind of place men would sit and talk over cigars and drinks.
Searching the room all I find is a few hidden cabinets full of bottles, booze from the looks of them. A few are unopened so I drop them in my pouch, not that I want to drink them but they may come in handy anyway. Leaving the room I head up to the third floor which only has two doors, one to the right and one to the left.
Opening the door to the right first I find a massive bedroom done in pinks and pastels with lots of lace. Opening the door on the left also reveals a massive bedroom but done in hardwoods and earthy colors. These must be the bedrooms of the master and mistress of the house, interesting that they had separate rooms.
Walking into the feminine room first I start looking around, the first thing I find is a massive closet that is almost twenty feet deep. It is completely filled with fancy dresses in styles I've never seen and made of materials I don't recognize. Since I am no expert I try to pick out a few that look the most interesting and put them in my pouch, taking all of them would probably fill my pouch.
At any rate I am fairly sure Amarah will be interested in these, especially the material they are made of. Moving on from the closet I find a sit down dresser that is completely full of jewelry. While a lot of it is enchanted, most is just cosmetic spells which I ignore, but I do find two pieces that are useful enough to take with me.
One is a set of earrings made from blue gems that enhance spell casting which might work for Isabella. The other is a necklace made with rubies that adds extra fire damage to spells which will be perfect for Ruby. She is probably going to be mad at me so having a gift for her is probably a good idea.
Those are the only interesting finds in this room so I move across the hall to search the master's bedroom. The first treasure I find is a sword, a great sword to be precise, but when I swing it I find it is light. The design reminds me of a thin scimitar, the way it flows and its weight make it easy to wield, I'm sure Vacker would love this.
Finding the sheath in the closet I put it into my pouch and continue searching. There is an armor stand in the corner but the armor it is meant to hold is missing. The sword I found was on the wall like a display piece, but I don't find any other weapons in the room.
My guess is the master of the house either died fighting or ran off while wearing his armor and weapons. Considering what I found in the basement I am hoping he died, painfully. Unfortunately, other than the sword I don't find anything of value, well not of value to me anyway.

In searching the house so far I have already ignored a fairly vast fortune, enough for a normal person to live the rest of their life in comfort. I'm sure there is even more hidden away that I haven't found, but since money doesn't interest me I am not really looking for it. Leaving the room I turn to the stairs to the fourth floor, which are much narrower than the main stairs.
Heading up I find that the attic is split, half is open and probably used for storage, the other half is tiny rooms. Probably the servants quarters based on the size of the rooms, although they are empty now. The storage area is full of what looks like old furniture, apparently the preservation spells aren't working up here since it is all heavily decayed.
Just as I am about to start digging through it to see if there is anything of value I hear a hissing sound. Looking around I realize it is coming from Kechara, her fur and feathers are all standing on end. She is staring intently at the point the peak of the roof meets the end wall of the storage area.
At first I don't see anything, but after a minute of concentrating on the area it is like a veil is lifted. Now I can see a large cocoon made of webbing, it is big enough that it could fit three humans inside. It is either going to be a really big spider or a ton of little ones, and it is moving.
Or at least whatever is inside it is moving, I quickly back away until I am standing next to Kechara with Bones on her other side. I have dealt with giant spiders before so I am not too worried, but better to play it safe. Besides, I need to be close enough to defend Kechara if I need to.
After a minute the cocoon rips open and the occupant falls to the floor. As it stands up my first thought is spider, but then I see I am only partially correct. The lower body is that of a spider, but the rest of the body is humanoid, I immediately think of a drider from D&D.
The upper body is lean and pale, it even has the long pointy ears of an elf. However, looking at the skin and the eyes it is obvious that the thing is dead, yet it is still moving. So, an undead drider, if there is such a thing.
Whatever it is, it is now looking at us, so I draw Blitz and get ready to fight. It opens its mouth and starts speaking in a strange language, as it does its hands start glowing with purple energy. Four spots on the floor start glowing the same color and in each spot a skeleton materializes.
So not only is it undead but it is also a necromancer, still not enough to really worry me. Telling Bones to attack the skeletons I move around them to go for the drider itself. With my speed I make it within range of the drider in seconds, and with a single swing I cut it from shoulder to waist.
As it dies it lets out a horrendous shriek that leaves my ears ringing for several minutes. Out of curiosity I cut it open, but I find no sign of a core and the heart is dried and shriveled. I can't bring myself to even try a bite of it so I leave it where it is and look over at Bones.
He is standing amidst the bones of the four skeletons looking disappointed at how easily they went down. For a battle maniac like him an easy fight like that is just a waste of time. Seeing that Kechara hasn't calmed down any I decide it is time to leave, so I lead the way back downstairs.
Before leaving the house completely I stop by the pantry and fill my pouch with food and spices. As soon as I step outside the house I understand why Kechara hasn't relaxed, I can hear skittering from all directions. I run down the path and jump to the top of the wall, what I see makes me gulp and wonder if we can even escape the city.
