Ep. 1166 Tattoos Part 3

The spell immediately gives me a new idea, forming contracts with a spirit. A contracted spirit that can grow stronger with someone is a better option in my opinion. It makes me think of the elven spirits that I met and wonder if that is where they live.

If it is, then I might be able to find some elves to contract with them and make the elves stronger. I want to make sure that the elves are strong enough to take care of themselves when I am not around. Having powerful spirits that they could summon would definitely help with that.

Thinking of that, I could probably summon them into a soulscape and ask them about the spirit plane. In fact, I think that I will do that for the next routine soulscape, which should be tomorrow. Thinking of that, I should probably explain the soulscape to Bella and ask if she wants to join.

It would be rude to leave her out, but I also don't want to bring her in without warning. That would probably traumatize her even more than she already is from being summoned. Right now, it would be a bad idea to make things worse, she needs stability.

Throughout the day, as she was tattooing, she seemed to be doing much better. I think, with a few more days like today, she may accept that this isn't a dream. Then she should be able to make an informed decision about whether she wants to stay or not.

Although, as long as Lin learns how to tattoo, it doesn't matter much if she wants to leave. Speaking of that, I get out of the bath and leave the castle to look for the elven crafters. It is only late afternoon outside, so they are still awake and happily give me animal hides.

When I am back in the castle, I check the time and then go back to reading the last book. I finish the book, but it is several hours until breakfast, so I start working on the spell. I have been planning out the spell for a while, so writing the spell goes fairly quickly.

It looks nothing like the spells in the book, but that doesn't concern me at all. More importantly, I have shaved off a lot of the dead weight and compacted the spell down. I am hoping that it will be enough for it to fit onto a tattoo, or at least close.

However, I don't plan to perform any experiments just yet, I will wait until I talk to the elven spirits. I will probably learn things from them that will make me modify the spell. So, there is no real point in going further until I have that information.

Since it still isn't time to wake Lin up, I decide to relax and read some manga. After reading for a while, I head upstairs to wake Lin up. As usual, she doesn't want to wake up, so I motivate her. By the time we finally head downstairs, the kids and Bella are awake and already eating.

A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

Bella takes a quick look at Lin's face and then grins at the two of us, but she doesn't say anything. Before that can change, I take out the hides I got from the elven crafters and hand them to her. I tell her to use whatever works the best and to let me know if she needs more.

As soon as they are done eating, Lin, Bella, and Albion head downstairs. I don't know how the kids decided the order, but after Albion is Mushu and finally Nala. Knowing them, some sort of game was involved to determine who went in what order.

While Albion is downstairs getting his tattoo, I play with the other three to keep them distracted. When Albion comes back up, I enchant his tattoo while Mushu heads down. Once the enchantment is done, Albion heads to the training room to test it out.

A while Later Mushu comes back to get his tattoo enchanted and Nala heads down. The way it is going, we are going to be having lunch a little late so that Nala's tattoo can be finished. I don't really mind, I am having fun hanging out and playing games with the kids.

When Nala comes back, both Lin and Bella are with her, meaning it is time for lunch. The others start eating while I enchant Nala's tattoo, then we join them. While we are eating, I explain about the soulscape to Bella and ask if she wants to join in.

She hesitates at first, but eventually she decides that she wants to join us at least once. Depending on how it goes will determine if she wants to join in the future. The main thing that convinced her was the chance to meet my other four kids.

She started off scared of the kids, but it looks like they have completely won her over. Not that I am surprised, they are all cute and have good personalities. It would be really hard to be afraid of them once someone got to know them.

When we are done eating, the kids head off to find Chloell and head to the shadow plane. Meanwhile, Lin and Bella head down to the workshop to continue teaching Lin to tattoo. I head down after them, grab some materials and make a small rod, similar in shape to a pen.

Once I am done enchanting it, I grab one of the skins Lin has been practicing on. Where the tip of the pen touches, the ink is removed from the skin. Once I make sure it works as planned, I give the pen to Bella and explain its function.

Of course, once I am done explaining, she has to test it and see it for herself. Once she does, she is very happy with it since mistakes can happen to anyone. It is also really useful for Lin who is just learning how to tattoo and is making a lot of mistakes.

That is to be expected, anyone would make mistakes when learning something new. I suck at drawing, so I would hate to think about how many mistakes I would make. Lin is already doing far better than that, she only makes two or three mistakes per tattoo.

While I am watching her practice I am also thinking about what other magical tattoos would be useful. Distracted by my thoughts, I end up staring at Lin's back instead of what she is doing. That is when I have a thought about a tattoo that would be perfect for her.

"Bella, how good are you at drawing wings?"

Bella says "I am pretty good at it. Why?"

Instead of answering her, I walk over to the stairs and yell for Mulan to come here. Once she does I have her return to her normal form and show Bella her wings.

"Could you draw wings like Mulan's and then turn it into a tattoo to put on Lin's back?"

Bella says "Sure. It wouldn't be too hard."

Lin says "Why am I getting a tattoo of wings all of a sudden?"

"Because, I am going to enchant them so that they can turn into real wings and allow you to fly."

Bella says "You can do that?!"
