"I take it your people had a fairly advanced level of magic?"
Bull says "Not originally. In fact, until the god taught us about it, we had no magical knowledge at all. Of course, the god didn't give us all of his knowledge at once. He would teach us some and then wait until we had adapted to it before teaching us more."
"Then how did things stand when you were sealed? I am asking because the temples used really advanced magic."
Bull says "Yes, we did. The god's knowledge was very vast. What do you want to know?"
As soon as he says that Lin and I start asking him all sorts of questions. It turns out that their people used magic in a similar way that the humans do. The main difference is that they used a magical language to do so, which made their control better.
Bull has no idea that pure mana can be used directly until I ask him about it. Unfortunately, that means that his knowledge of magic isn't very useful to me. Lin is a different story, even if she can't use it she wants all the knowledge she can get.
Once Lin takes over talking with Bull I take the food pouch from her so the rest of us can have dinner. The entire time we are eating, Lin never stops questioning Bull, who knows when it will end. Surprisingly, Bull doesn't show any signs of being annoyed and answers every question that he can.
"Hold on. Did you just say that you found a way for all of your people to be born able to use mana?"
Bull says "Yes, I did. We created an alchemy potion for pregnant women to drink. Not only did it guarantee that the child would be born with mana, but it also made sure they were physically healthy and strong."
"I don't suppose you know how to make this potion?"
Bull says "Unfortunately, I don't. I was never married so I never really had any interest in it. Although, my mother took one when she was carrying me so I know they work. You would probably have to get into one of our cities to find the recipe for it."
"I would love to, but I really can't delay my return to my people any longer. Maybe later, if my other responsibilities allow."
Bull says "Alright. If I come across the recipe I will send it to you."
"I would appreciate that. Also, I'm sure that Lin would love any books on magic you can find."
Bull says "Sure, but they won't do you much good since they are written in my people's magical language."
"That's fine. I have a gift for languages."

Bull says "If you are sure, then I will keep my eyes out. It is the least I can do since you unsealed me."
"Thank you. Although, you don't really owe me anything, I was just satisfying my curiosity."
Bull says "Regardless of the reason, you freed me from an endless nightmare. Without you I probably would have remained sealed until this world ended. So, if there is something I can do for you, I will."
"Alright. Oh, I was curious, did your people also bring the humans to this world?"
Bull says "No, or at least not before I was sealed. Today is my first time ever meeting a human."
Lin says "If people knew that we weren't native to this world they would go absolutely crazy. I wonder how we ended up here."
Bull says "I don't know, but if I find any historical records that mention humans I will send them to you."
Lin says "Thank you."
"Yes, thank you. I am also curious about it."
Brightfire says "You are curious about everything!"
"Yeah, I guess I am. But you should be glad of that, without my curiosity I would have never come through the gate to your island."
Lin says "He's got you there. I for one am very grateful for your curiosity."
Brightfire says "When it comes to anything related to magic your curiosity is just as bad as his!"
"Actually, I think Lin's curiosity might be even stronger than mine."
Lin says "Not true. Mine is just more focused, you are curious about too many things."
"That's probably true."
Bull says "You have some good companions here. I envy you that."
"Once you have found out what happened to your people you could always join us."
Bull says "Thank you, but no. Once I am done here I plan to leave this world. It is possible some of my people might be out there somewhere. Besides, my enemy might also still be out there."
"Do you plan to look for revenge?"
Bull says "No, I am not a fool. I can't hope to handle a god, let alone a group of them. On the other hand, I would like to get at least a little bit of payback."
"I can't say I blame you. In your shoes I wouldn't give up until I found a way to kill the gods as well."
Bull says "While that would be nice, it is not very realistic."
"That is true, if you are alone. However, a dark pantheon should have a lot of enemies. I would suggest looking for them instead of going it alone."
Bull says "You have a point. I will keep that in mind. Maybe revenge is possible after all."
"It should be as long as you are patient enough."
Bull says "That shouldn't be a problem. After all, thousands of years have already passed, so a few more wouldn't matter."
"That's a good way to look at it."
Brightfire says "I can't believe my ears! Ash suggesting patience?"
"If I had to fight a god or a dragon I would be patient and make full plans. The reason you haven't seen me use any patience is because none of the enemies were a true threat to me."
Bull says "Since I will be in this world for a while, do you think your goddesses would be willing to talk with me?"
"Of course. I'm sure they would be happy to. Their names are Seronia and Krenocia. They have been watching and have heard everything."
Bull says "Good. Is there a way I can get in touch with you as well?"
"Sure. Let me make you a communication amulet."
After making a new amulet and handing it to Bull, I realize that I have quite a few amulets now. Far too many for me to wear comfortably, so I merge them together. Just as I finish merging them and put the new amulet around my neck, someone contacts me.
Stillwater says "Ash, are you there?"
"I'm here. What's up?"
Stillwater says "We have arrived at the cove you pointed out."
"Alright. We will return shortly."
Stillwater says "Okay."
"That was Stillwater, our time is up."
Brightfire says "Aww, I wanted to finish exploring!"
"So did I, but we have other things we have to do."
Brightfire says "My dad will wait if you tell him to."
