"Because I don't know where you are and I can't gate somewhere I haven't been to before."
Myria says "Oh. I guess I didn't think about that when I decided to join the combat unit."
"Are you missing me already?"
Myria says "Yes, I am. Aren't you missing me?"
"Of course I am!"
Myria chuckles and says "Good answer!"
We continue chatting about normal things after that until I reach the fort. As soon as I land, I return to beastman form and request a group of messengers. They are members of the faster tribes like bunny, rat, fox, and lizard that don't have the combat skills to be scouts.
Using them, I send orders to all the combat units and to people in the new city. I also send a message for Mason, but I'm not sure if he will be back from the elven city yet. That doesn't matter too much, it's not like he can start a new city immediately.
Speaking of that, I guess I need to come up with names and stop calling it the new city. I could be lazy and just name it trade city and then the new one as beast city. I will just wait until later and ask the girls for suggestions, I am no good at naming things.
I issue a few more orders, but once all the messengers are gone I realize I have nothing else to do. I am starting to wish that I had brought the castle with me so I could do some crafting. Just as I am thinking about going and fetching it, Leonarr walks in looking for me.
"Something wrong, Leonarr?"
Leonarr says "One of the combat units has run into something of a problem."
"Oh? What's going on?"
Leonarr says "Well, they successfully raided a number of estates, but after the last one they are being pursued. Normally that wouldn't worry me, but the ones chasing them seem to be from the church."
"Why would the church be chasing them?"
Leonarr says "I don't know, but none of the other combat units are close enough to get there in time. The only one who can get there fast enough to help is you."
"Alright, give me their location."
As soon as Leonarr gives me their location and route, I head outside to drop shapeshift. Once I am in the air and headed towards the combat unit I contact Myria. I update her on where I am headed and why, then focus on flying at top speed.
I even use fire mana to create boosters for even more speed, I don't want to be late. From the air it is easy to spot the groups I am looking for and luckily they haven't met yet. Normally, my combat unit would have no problem outrunning the humans, but the slaves are slower.

For that reason, the column of human troops is slowly gaining on them. The combat unit consists of about thirty beastmen and they are escorting over two hundred freed slaves. The humans behind them number almost five hundred and are all wearing the symbol of Holos.
Only fifty or so of the humans are mounted, the rest are all walking behind them. The ones that are mounted should be church knights while the rest are common soldiers. As I get closer, I spot a beastman waving me down, so I land next to him.
Soldier kneels and says "Your majesty!"
"Report."
Soldier says "According to some of the slaves we freed, the estate we hit was owned by a high ranking member of the church. At their current speed, they will catch up to us in two hours or so."
"Alright, I will handle them. Anything else I should know?"
Soldier says "We have been going non-stop since we rescued them, the slaves are exhausted."
"Then stop and rest. The humans won't be a threat."
Soldier says "Understood!"
Taking off, I head towards the humans and start thinking about how I want to deal with them. As I take a closer look, among the mounted humans there is a single one in priestly robes. That should be the owner of the estate, I wonder if he is capable of summoning an angel.
I really liked that angel armor and wouldn't mind getting my hands on another set. Besides, I am curious if now that I am no longer a demon I can absorb an angel's core. I am also curious as to what kind of effect an angel's core would have on me.
With those thoughts in mind, I decide to spare the priest long enough to see if he can summon an angel. As I approach the column, I take a deep breath and then release my breath weapon as I pass over them. I take special care to make sure that I don't hit the priest, just scare him.
My breath is not powerful enough to wipe out the entire column, but it does quite a bit of damage. As I circle around, I look back and it looks like I killed about a hundred humans. If my breath weapon could be used repeatedly, I could easily wipe them all out.
As it is, the attack scared them enough that they stop and take up a defensive position. There are a few archers among the foot troops, but I don't see any mages. Without magic or siege weapons, they probably don't have any way to hurt me while I am flying.
So, after circling back, I pass over the human troops again and throw a couple of lightning spells down. The archers fire at me, but I don't even bother dodging the arrows, they just bounce off. As I circle around again, I spot the priest gathering the knights and doing something.
Most of their horses already ran off after my first attack, so I doubt they are going to try to run. Trying to outrun a flying enemy while on foot would just be ridiculous. Hopefully, they are going to try and summon an angel, so I avoid attacking them for now.
Each time that I pass over them, I drop spells that kill dozens of humans. However, because of how easy it is, I soon get bored and decide to land. I land amongst the foot troops and start killing them using my melee attacks.
Out of curiosity, I do what Vacker suggested and activate Mage Knight Blade. Vacker was right, it coats my claws as if they were swords and vastly increases my damage. Even the soldiers in full armor and wielding shields are cut down in a single swipe.
I quickly slaughter most of the remaining foot soldiers and then I feel a surge of magic. As I was hoping, the priest and the knights have managed to summon an angel. Unfortunately, when I turn my head to take a look I end up really disappointed.
The angel only has a single pair of wings, it is definitely not what I was hoping for. The angel doesn't waste any time and immediately charges at me, but I easily swat it down to the ground. Then I pin it under one foot and push until the angel sinks halfway into the ground.
"Weakling! Summon someone worthy for me to fight!"
