After making sure there are no errors, I head back down and start going through Jarvis' programming. His has changed a lot, but I was expecting that, especially after the battle. However, there is a lot less that I can learn from his programming at this point.
What I really need is more experience with programming new golems. To do that I will need to build more golems, the question is, what kind should I make? I don't want to start making an army, I still haven't decided about that, so I call Jarvis.
Jarvis says "Yes, maker?"
"Jarvis, based on the battle, do you think you could control more golems?"
Jarvis says "As long as they are of the same type so I can keep the orders simple, I can probably control ten more."
"So, do you want ten more gargoyles?"
Jarvis says "No. To complement the other defenses, I think a ranged attacker would be best."
"So, archer golems?"
Jarvis says "Archers would work. Or other ranged attackers."
"Alright, I will see what I can come up with. Oh, the enchantments are all done, you should test them out. That was all I needed."
Jarvis says "Understood."
"Oh, wait. I never moved the castle back to the cabin. Where is the castle now?!"
Jarvis says "Still floating above the ocean."
"So, the ship left?"
Jarvis says "Affirmative."
"Crap! Okay, I will handle it."
I quickly exit the castle, shrink it down, put it in my pouch, and start flying after the ship. The castle can't do anything but float, it has no ability to move at all. Maybe I should work on something so that it can at least move, even if it is slow.
I should be able to do that with an enchantment, meaning no need to build anything. That is probably my best option, building engines and propellers would eat up a lot of materials. Although, a steampunk flying castle would be pretty awesome looking.
It doesn't take me long to catch up to the ship and once I do I land on the balcony. Then I take the castle out of my pouch and release it to float in the corner of the cabin. When I take human form and enter the castle, I find Lin waiting for me.
From the way she is smirking at me, I am guessing Jarvis told her what happened. However, she doesn't say anything, she just turns and leads the way to the bedroom. I obediently follow her and then I help her relieve all of her stress from the day in the shadow plane.

In the morning, after breakfast, I start working on the enchantment to allow the castle to move. I expect that a wind based enchantment is my best bet, but I plan to experiment first. Mainly because I want to play around a bit, my knowledge has increased a lot lately.
With no sails to work with, wind is actually not as effective as I was thinking it would be. Of course, I could add sails, but that just wouldn't look right on a castle. Instead, I decide to go with fire as a means of propulsion for the castle.
Luckily, with the cheat that is magic, it is a lot easier than trying to create jet engines. A simple disc enchanted with fire magic gives the same effect as the engine would. Once I am done experimenting, I start making and enchanting the discs.
When they are done, I install them on all four sides of the pyramid that the castle rests on. Once they are in place, I tie them to the castle's core to provide power to them. After that I have Jarvis practice moving the castle around the cabin to test it out.
After testing it out, I remove the discs so that I can make some improvements. I add a thin wall around the discs to help direct the flames and generate more thrust. As I am working on it, I realize that I can use the same thing when I make the ship fly.
In fact, I have already learned several things that will make phase two of the ship easier. Of course, I will have to be a bit more careful since the ship is made of wood. Once the modifications are done, I reinstall the thrusters, and have Jarvis test them again.
The castle will be slow, but it is able to move faster than I was expecting. It will make a good mobile command center for us to use during the war. Lin comes looking for me, but she stops when she realizes that the castle is moving.
Lin says "What is going on?!"
"I added some thrusters so that the castle can move. Although, it is a little on the slow side. Did you want something, hon?"
Lin says "I was just coming to let you know that the kids and I will be going through the gate. Did you do this just in case you forget to put the castle back again?"
"No! It is so that we can use it as a mobile command venter during the war!"
Lin says "Did you think of that excuse before or after you modified the castle?"
"Uh, after I guess."
Lin says "That's what I thought. Anyway, we should be in the shadow plane for a few hours, maybe longer. Try not to do anything too crazy while we are gone."
"No worries. I plan to spend the rest of the day reading manga."
Lin says "Good. That will at least keep you out of trouble."
Lin then gives me a long kiss, her way of telling me that she is just teasing me. I follow her down to the workshop and send her and the kids off. Once they are gone, I start thinking about what type of ranged golem I want to build for Jarvis.
While archers would be the easiest, since there is only going to be ten of them it just doesn't seem like enough. I also can't make mages since I still haven't figured out what I am missing to let a golem use magic. I could just make wands for a golem, but that doesn't seem very efficient.
The main problem with using archers is the low rate of fire, but the energy bows help with that. If I apply the same thing to a crossbow, and put one on each arm, that would give them decent firepower. Twenty bolts at a time, with rapid fire, would provide decent ranged support.
As soon as I think of that, I start picturing a medieval looking super battle droid. Once I have that thought I immediately start drawing up a blueprint to match. Of course, that can't be their only weapon, I don't want them to be defenseless in melee combat.
Since ranged attacks are more of a dexterity type of thing, I decide to go with daggers for melee. I also slim down the design and make some improvements to make it more agile. It ends up looking more like a commando droid than a super, but I'm okay with that.
