Athena says "Athena? I like the sound of it. Thank you, master. From now on I am Athena. Can you tell me more about the original Athena?"
I don't see any harm in it, so I tell her what little I can remember about her. It isn't much, to be honest it is mostly from anime that mentioned her. However, she seems happy as I tell her the little that I know about her namesake.
Athena says "I think this name suits me very well and I will try to live up to your expectations, master."
"I'm glad you like it. Later, once you are more used to things, we will discuss the changes I have planned for phase two of the ship. I expect you will have some opinions and I will do my best to suit you when modifying the ship."
Athena says "I don't yet, but you are probably right, I will have them at some point."
"For now, it is best that you walk around and talk to people. Get used to your new life."
Athena says "I will do that, but there is something that I want to do."
"Oh, what's that?"
Athena says "I want to meet Lin and play with your adorable kids."
"Well, that is as simple as walking down to my cabin. Let's go."
Just as we are about to leave the bridge Silverleaf shows up to take over. Silverstream probably went to get her so that she could avoid coming back to face my questions. Not that I really planned on asking her any, but she doesn't know that.
Before we leave I introduce Silverleaf to Athena and explain things to Silverleaf. Then I take Athena back to the cabin, Lin isn't back yet so I introduce her to the kids first. The kids love meeting new people and are more than happy to have someone new to play with.
Especially when Athena makes some improvements to the cat trees, they are part of her body after all. In fact, her ability to manipulate the wood of the ship far surpasses mine. She does make a few mistakes at first, but she learns from them and improves very fast.
Within a few minutes she has all the platforms and pegs moving independently. This makes it much more challenging for the kids and it is something that I cannot do. Since she is having fun and so are the kids, I leave them to it and take out the materials for the choker.
Then I shrink down and get back to work, starting with the emerald again. Now that it is shaped properly, the next step is to carve the inscriptions into the back of it. These are what are going to make the emerald into the core for the choker.
This tale has been unlawfully obtained from Royal Road. If you discover it on Amazon, kindly report it.
Once the inscriptions are done I make the setting for the gem out of gold and set it into the choker. Next I shape the rest of the gems that I plan to use into the same shape as the emerald. After a little playing around I manage to change the color of the gems.
Their properties don't change, just the color, but now I can make them all the same. I decide to go with alternating purple and green gems with the emerald as the centerpiece. The rest of the gems are just for storing mana, so they only need one inscription each.
Just as I am placing the last gem into the choker, Lin walks in with a smile on her face. However, when she doesn't spot me right away, she stops and checks the floor around her. Only when she finally sees me on the table does she relax, she's acting a little paranoid.
Not that she doesn't have reason to, I would absolutely prank her again given the chance. Once she has me in sight, she walks over and introduces herself to Athena. The two of them start chatting while watching the kids playing.
Since they seem to be getting along so far, I keep working on the choker. My next step is to turn some silver into thread and start stitching formations around the gems. I could never make stitches this small if it wasn't for being shrunk down.
Even with that, I still end up making tons of mistakes and having to redo them. Stitching certainly isn't one of my strong suites, but I can't ask Lin to do it since that would ruin the surprise. The worst part is that I keep managing to stab myself with the needle, which stings.
Congratulations! Skill Tailoring has progressed to level 4!

You can make simple items from cloth.
To be honest, I don't even remember when I got the skill, but its low level explains why I am so bad at it. However, the skill going up does help me to make a few less mistakes. As I am working, I notice that Lin keeps glancing over trying to see what I am doing.
Even Athena is showing signs of being curious and glancing over from time to time. That is a good thing in my opinion, it shows intelligence, although I hope it isn't as strong as mine. Having the ship suddenly change directions because she saw something interesting would be troublesome.
Although, as long as we aren't in a rush to get somewhere, it could also be amusing. Finally, Lin can't take it anymore and comes over to the table to see what I am doing. Because the stitching is so tiny it takes her a minute to realize what I am doing.
Lin says "Are those formations?! Just how many formations are you adding to the choker?"
"Yes, they are formations and I am only adding a few."
Athena says "If I am not mistaken, you made a mistake right here."
"You are right, I was just about to fix it. My stitching is still pretty bad."
Lin says "How did you even see that? It is so tiny I can barely tell that it is more than just silver lines."
Athena says "My eyes are not like normal eyes. I basically use the senses that Ash enchanted into me."
Lin says "Oh, that's cheating."
Athena says "If it is, blame Ash."
Lin says "That works for me."
"I'm not even going to try and argue. Now go play and let me work."
The two of them laugh at me and go back to chatting and watching the kids. I fix the mistake that Athena pointed out and then move on to the next formation. Once the formations are done I add more stitching as decoration between the formations.
The next thing is adding gold edging along both sides of the choker, then finally a ring through the hole in the emerald. Gold is normally too soft on its own, but I will fix that with an enchantment. Now all that is left is to do the enchantments, but that is the hardest part.
