As soon as I break away from the undead I put the hammer away, drop shapeshift, and return to the sky. Once I am at a decent altitude I lock my wings to glide and then use the energy on my soul. As soon as my soul is fully healed I get this warm fuzzy feeling throughout my body.
It is a really pleasant feeling, but it is more the sudden absence of a pain I had forgotten about. Either way, the result is that my soul is finally healed and I don't have to worry anymore. Of course, that also means that I can go back to being my usual reckless self.
I leave the undead far behind as I continue north, I should check on Silverstream. Not only do I want to see how they are doing, but I also want to know if the maker's power reaches this far. If it does then the orcs the elves have killed should have risen as undead.
I am curious to know if they got exp twice, one for the living and once for the undead. If so, that would make this the perfect place to level up quickly for the elves. I may even do some exp farming while I am here, it has been a while since I last leveled up.
When I reach the agreed meeting spot the elves aren't there, meaning they are still hunting. There is another possibility, that they were wiped out, but I don't think that is likely. So, I start flying back and forth over the foothills slowly moving north as I look for them.
The first thing I find isn't the elves, it is the bodies of a small group of orcs. This lets me know I am going the right way and helps to narrow down the area I need to search. That is only the first group of bodies I find, they create a trail for me to follow.
Luckily, Silverstream is being smart and not taking her team too far into the badlands. So about fifteen minutes after finding the first group of bodies I spot the elves. Before long they also spot me and stop to wait for me to catch up and land.
Silverstream says "What's up, Ash? Is our time up already?"
"No, I just have some questions for you. Have the orcs you've been killing been getting back up as undead?"
Silverstream says "Yes, they have! Do you know why?"
"It is the maker's power. It looks like it can cover the entire island. I underestimated her. Have you been getting exp twice from them?"
Silverstream says "Yes, we have. Although the second amount is not much. Not even half of the first amount."
"That is because newly raised undead are weak and not much of a threat."
Silverstream says "That's true. Only the first group gave us any trouble and that was because we were caught off guard."

"Alright. Well, as long as you are careful it should be fine to keep hunting. Just watch out, there may be wandering groups of undead."
Silverstream says "If they aren't more powerful than what we have seen so far they won't be a problem."
"The powerful undead should all still be on the south end of the mountains. For now."
Silverstream says "Alright, we will be careful. What are you going to do?"
"I am also going hunting. There are some powerful beasts in the mountains that I don't want to see joining the undead. Mainly the ones that can fly!"
Silverstream says "That's a good plan. Flying undead would be a problem!"
"I am more worried about the flying undead being able to get the maker to the mainland."
Silverstream says "Why worry about that? Let the humans deal with it!"
"I plan to, but I want them to have time to get ready for her. If they aren't prepared then they won't be able to contain her at all. I have already underestimated her once, I don't plan to do it again."
Silverstream says "Does it matter? We will be long gone and won't have to worry about it."
"If the main continent becomes overrun with undead, it will certainly matter. The maker can already affect this entire island and I think she gets stronger the more undead there are. Imagine if she was able to cover the entire continent!"
Silverstream says "Alright, you've made your point! I am sorry for doubting you!"
"It's fine. Go back to your hunting and I will go do mine."
Silverstream says "Okay, same meeting point?"
"Yeah. Probably a couple of days at most, alright?"
Silverstream says "Sure! We will be careful!"
The elves return to their hunting and I take off towards the mountains. As soon as I enter the mountains I start hunting for any flying beast I can find. There should be more two-headed wyverns and the pterodactyl-like things.
In order to keep the maker trapped on the island I plan to kill every single one of them. The hard part is finding them, but once I do the fun part begins, aerial combat. I haven't fought in the air with this body yet so it is a good learning experience.
The first opponent I find to practice against is a group of the pterodactyl's. There are eight of them hiding in some clouds waiting for prey to come along. Unfortunately for them, I detect them and move above the clouds they are hiding in.
Then I am able to get the drop on them, killing the first one with my first attack. Almost the instant it dies, it comes back as a zombie and I have to kill it again. Then I have to chase down the others that ran away as soon as I ambushed them.
8 Pterodactyls defeated! 16,000 Exp gained!
8 Zombie Pterodactyls defeated! 4,000 Exp gained!
The zombies are only worth about a fourth of the exp as the original beast. However, there is no way I am leaving them around for the maker to make use of. Besides, I am already killing them so it is basically just bonus free exp.
The only downside is that the process of turning into a zombie quickly ruins the body. Not only is the meat inedible but the hide quickly rots away even after the zombie is dealt with. Basically, that means that nothing on this island is going to be edible, so no hunting.
The elves are carrying supplies so they shouldn't have any problems, but the humans and orcs are going to suffer. Luckily, I have my food pouch with me so I don't have anything to worry about. As I continue my hunt the next thing I find is actually the nests of the pterodactyls.
There are over thirty nests, most of them with eggs inside, and as soon as I approach them I am attacked. At first it is only a couple of pterodactyls, but as I am fighting them more arrive. Their numbers keep climbing despite the amount I am killing and the fight lasts a long time.
