Most of the merchants I ordered from have good reputations, but I still check everything. Even though I already replaced all the gold I spent, I am not about to allow anyone to cheat me. However, that isn't the case, everything I ordered is here in the proper quantities.
So, I sign the receipt and give the guy a tip, then once he leaves I load everything into a backpack. After that I go back out, I have decided to have dinner at one of the restaurants. However, not long after leaving the inn I am surrounded as I walk down the street.
There are ten men, masked and dressed all in black, if they weren't all bulky they would look like ninjas. As soon as they come out of hiding and surround me the rest of the people on the street run. It doesn't take long for the masked men and me to be the only ones on the street.
Masked Thug says "You interfered and ruined our master's plans! Now you must die!"
I don't bother answering him, I just flick my hand and bring out the dagger. I could pull my sword out of the pouch, but despite all the people running away, I am sure people are watching. Seeing me with a dagger in hand, the ten of them draw daggers and charge at me.
While I could kill all of them instantly that would draw too much attention. So I keep my movements slow enough to be human and dance around fighting. I am doing my best to look like an extremely skilled adventurer and nothing more.
As I am fighting them I start to feel like I am in a martial arts movie, it is quite fun. I take out my targets one by one while dodging all of their attacks. Even if one of them manages to hit me they won't be able to hurt me so this is just a game to me.
10 Level 11 Humans defeated! 11,000 Exp gained!
Once the last one is dead I casually put away my dagger, dust myself off, and then continue walking. However, before I take more than ten steps a group of city guards rushes out to block my way. I recognize two of them as the ones who just stood and watched the kidnapping.
Guard yells "Stop! You are under arrest!"
"Arrest? What for?"
Guard says "You are asking what for?! When you just killed ten people?!"
"Oh, you mean those assassins? Yeah, I killed them. So what?"
Guard says "Who are you calling assassins? They are common citizens and you killed them in cold blood!"
"Ah, I get it now! You work for the same guy as those two! But I've got to ask, I just killed the ten of them, what do you think the six of you can do?"
The six of them think for a few seconds then they go from looking confident to looking scared. Apparently they never imagined that someone wouldn't care if they were city guards. However, before the fight can start a lot more guards come running over.

The new guards are wearing different uniforms and they surround the six city guards. I recognize the uniform of the new guards as being those at the estate I took Zoidya to. It looks like I won't need to kill the city guards after all, not that I really care.
Guard Captain says "How convenient to find you all together! Lord Doma has some questions for you! Come with us, now!"
"Captain, those assassins I killed said they were after me for interfering in the kidnapping. They also are wearing identical gear to the four who attacked Lady Zoidya."
Guard Captain says "Thank you! We will take the bodies and I will tell Lord Doma of your assistance!"
Seeing that they will take care of everything I leave and head for the restaurant. While I am a little curious who is behind the assassins and the kidnapping, I won't be staying. If I planned to be in the city for a few days then I would find out and deal with it.
Since I am leaving tonight there is no point, Lord Doma can deal with it himself. When I get to the restaurant the waiter at the door actually refuses to let me in. It seems there is a dress code to enter and I don't meet the requirements.
I have plenty of gold and could easily get some high end clothes, but I can't be bothered. The food would at most be on par with my pouch, it isn't worth the hassle. Just as I am turning away to leave an expensive looking carriage stops in front of me.
The fat man who exits the carriage is actually someone I met earlier today. He is the boss of the biggest merchant group in town and I spent quite a bit of money at his shop. He sees me and at first he looks surprised but then he has a big smile on his face.
Merchant says "My friend, I didn't expect to see you again so soon! Did you enjoy your meal?"
"I am not able to eat here. Apparently I am not well dressed enough."
Merchant says "Nonsense! A good customer like you is always welcome in my restaurant! Please, join me!"
The merchant takes me inside with him, as he walks in he fires the waiter that turned me away. It turns out I was wrong, the food is actually better than the food from my pouch. It is good enough that I wish I knew how to add new items to my food pouch.
Unfortunately, I took the pouch for granted and never even checked to see if it was possible. Next time I talk to the goddesses, if I remember, I will have to ask about it. If it doesn't have the ability to add more foods, then I will ask for permission to improve it.
For now I bid the merchant farewell and head back to my room at the inn. Then since it still isn't late enough, I open a soulscape and play with the kids for a few hours. After closing the soulscape I climb onto the inn's roof and drop shapeshift.
Then I scan out with my mana to make sure the elves are still in the same places. Once I know where they all are I fly to the market where there are five together. I checked the place out earlier when I was wandering around, it is the slave market.
Luckily, they trust in their magical locks and traps to keep the slaves secure. Thanks to that there are only five guards in the building and they aren't very alert. I could kill them easily enough, but instead I shapeshift into an elf and just sneak past them.
The magical locks and traps pose no problem at all, I get in without even waking the slaves. Aside from five elven women there are a couple of dozen human women in here. The five elves are kept in a separate cage, but when I get close to it one of them wakes up.
Luckily, when she sees that I am an elf she doesn't make a sound and wakes up the other four. I quickly break the lock on the cage, remove their restraints, and open a gate to the ship. They all look amazed, but they keep quiet and go through the gate under my prompting.
