By the time they are ready to go down into the cavern I may be back and able to help. But since I have no idea how long dealing with the temple of winds is going to take I can't make any promises. So for now it is best for them to plan on doing everything without me.

Armatite must be even more valuable than I thought, for them to invest so much of the city's resources. Maybe if dealing with the temple doesn't take too long I will be able to return and at least explore enough to give them better maps. When there is a break in the conversation I suggest to Roddick that sound based attacks might work really well.

At his questioning look I explain how my roar affected the rex and how everything else stayed as silent as possible. Since I have his attention I also describe the lighting and hand over the crystal sample I took. As soon as he touches it he gets really excited, almost like I gave him a chunk of pure gold.

Roddick says "This crystal has inherent magic in it!"

Scott says "What does that mean?"

Roddick says "It means not only can it be used to provide light but it can also be enchanted very easily!"

Since he is so excited by it I decide to tell him how I made Ruby's swords. After hearing my story Roddick is even more interested in the mining project going through. Since if the miners are down there anyway it should be easy to get crystal while they are at it.

Once dinner is finished the others leave after agreeing to meet again to discuss things further. Only Roddick remains behind, he noticed from my story that I used magic in a unique way when I had it. We end up spending another couple of hours just talking about magic theory.

Unfortunately, he doesn't have any ideas about how I might be able to regain my magic. I am a little disappointed but honestly I wasn't expecting anything else. Although, I was kind of hoping to hear about a legendary item or something like that, since that is how it would work in a manga.

Looks like I will need to just continue on as I have been, maybe I will get lucky and come across a way somewhere down the line. It is not that I don't like being a warrior, I just want magic to help out in certain situations. Once Roddick leaves I climb into bed and sleep like the dead for about twelve hours.

After waking up I've only been moving around a few minutes before food is brought up to me. I have no idea how Sarah does it, from the food brought in I guess it is closer to lunch than breakfast. I didn't expect to sleep so long but I guess I needed it, I feel great after I finish eating.

My first stop is at Walter's shop to check on my armor, but he isn't done yet and tells me to come back in a couple of hours. Since I have free time I check on the movements of my people, Isabella and Myria haven't returned yet. Pol has left with the first merchant caravan, Vacker has a few classes going, and the orphanage is up and running.

So far everything is going according to the plans, but that leaves me with nothing I really need to do. I stop by the stables to check on Lizzy, I groom her and then give her the rex's heart. Then I decide to head over to the smithy to see how they are doing with the new ore.

"Hey guys, how's it going?"

Harold says "Hey boss! It's going great! This ore is amazing! It basically enchants itself!"

"Oh, the finished item comes out magical?"

Harold says "Yeah! It is random, but we haven't seen a useless enchantment yet!"

Hyung says "The enchantment also gets stronger based on the forging of the item."

Harold says "Right, right! The more effort we put into making something the stronger it is!"

"Wow! That is impressive! No wonder the ancient empire built such a strong fortress to protect the mines."

Harold says "You said you had more ore right?!"

"Yes, two to three hundred tons."

Harold says "That much?!?"

Hyung says "We can work with that for the rest of our lives!"

"As I said I found the mines of the ancient empire and they had quite a stockpile built up."

Harold says "And you are going to supply it to us?"

"As long as you continue to make items for Pol to trade, yes."

Hyung says "You still aren't going to tell us what to make?"

"Nope, that is still up to you. When Pol gets back he may have suggestions as to what will trade best and I would appreciate it if you considered his opinion. But what you make will always be up to you."

Harold says "In that case, you can consider us as your personal blacksmiths."

Hyung says "Yes, we give you our allegiance."

"I appreciate it but that isn't necessary."

Harold says "We already discussed it when we were able to get our blacksmithing to master rank because of you. We will serve you from now on."

"Well, if that is your decision I won't argue."

Hyung says "That is what we both decided."

"Alright, then it is settled. I do have a special request, although I expect it to take a while since it is a special material."

Harold says "Ooh! Another new material?"

"Not so much new, it is Armatite."

Hyung says "You got your hands on Armatite?!?"

Harold says "I don't know how to work with Armatite."

So as I take the Armatite out of my pouch I tell them about the forging of Blitz and everything I learned about working with Armatite. I also explain that without the help of an elemental I don't know how to get a forge hot enough to work with the stuff. These are challenges they are going to have to overcome on their own.

Harold says "Maybe if we make a new forge out of the magic iron and we get lucky and the enchant comes up as fire."

Hyung says "Once we figure it out what do you want made?"

"I would like Harold to make a sword set, long and short, for Vacker. You can get the details of his preference from him."

Harold says "Okay, no problem."

Hyung says "And me?"

"I would like you to make me a naginata! After that the rest of the ore is for you guys to use however you want."

Hyung says "A naginata? I can do that!"

"As I said, no rush. Just do it once you have figured everything out."

Both say "Okay, boss!"

Shaking my head I turn and leave the smithy and head back to the inn. I leave a note for Isabella to provide them with ore before I forget, I also explain that I could be gone for a while. Then I tell Sarah about my leaving so that she can tell anyone else who comes looking for me.

Sarah says "But you only just got back! Shouldn't you at least rest for a day?"
