If I could figure that out, I wonder if I would be able to add it to the castle. If I could, that would be awesome, but I would probably need to find more materials first. Right now the castle doesn't have room for any more enchantments, especially one that big.
If I get some time I will need to do some more experimenting to figure it out. I should probably ask Lin about it, she may know something that will help. For now, I keep looking for a place to put the castle, somewhere with a view.
After flying for a while I spot a nice looking lake surrounded by mountains. Before landing, I circle the lake looking all around, but I don't see any signs of humans. So, I land and set up the castle next to the lake while Lin gets the kids down.
Mulan, Mushu, and Nala all head into the castle to resume their playing. Albion, on the other hand, heads down to the lake and takes a long drink from it. The waters are crystal clear so I am not too worried about him drinking it.
Albion says "Dad, would it be okay if I went for a swim?"
"Sure, but we are pretty far north and in the mountains, the water will be really cold."
Albion says "That's fine, I don't mind. In fact, unlike my sisters, I like the cold. It just means no one will swim with me."
"I will swim with you. The cold doesn't bother me."
Lin says "Don't look at me, I don't like the cold!"
"Haha, alright. You go and keep an eye on the others. Albion and I will be in for dinner after a swim."
Albion says "Yay!"
Albion splashes into the water and I follow him in, the cold is a shock at first, but that's all. After being in it for a minute or so the water actually feels really good. Albion isn't a great swimmer, so he stays to the shallows, but he still has a lot of fun.
After swimming and playing for a while, we climb out, shake dry, and head inside. When we enter Lin calls the kids from their play and we all sit down to dinner. After they are done eating, all four kids go to play on the cat trees while Lin and I watch.
"I had an idea for a spell and I was wondering if you had any ideas that could help me figure it out. I want to create a spell that can detect avatars at long range."
Lin says "What do you mean by long range? And why do you want to find avatars?"
"Ideally, something that would cover the continent, or at least most of it. I want to try to find primary avatars and hunt them. The body of a primary avatar can help the goddesses grow stronger."

Lin says "I have never heard or read of a spell with that kind of range. I wouldn't even know where to start. Aren't the gods already mad at you? Won't hunting their avatars just make things worse? Are you trying to start a war with all the deities of the continent?"
"I don't plan to hunt all of them. In fact, I want to find a very specific one. That shouldn't be enough to start a full blown war. At worst they will just hunt for me harder."
Lin says "What specific avatar, and why?"
"If I can kill the primary avatar of a god of magic, then one of the goddesses would gain the magic domain. If that happens, then once I reach level twenty, I should be able to become a mage for my next class."
Lin says "That's a brilliant idea, but at the same time it is absolutely insane. Even if you could find one, how do you plan to defeat it? The three gods of magic are among the strongest gods in existence."
"I figured they would be just like mages, without their magic they would be weak."
Lin says "While that might be true, how do you expect to stop their magic?"
"In D&D there was a spell called anti-magic zone. Within a specific area magic ceased to exist for the duration of the spell."
Lin says "You know such a powerful spell?!"
"No, not yet. I know the theory of how the spell should work. I am pretty sure I can figure it out."
Lin says "To a mage like me, that is a terrifying spell. But what makes you think that the gods of magic use mana or cast spells like a mortal mage?"
"Huh, I guess I hadn't thought of that. I don't know."
Lin says "So, because the avatars you have met so far were weak, you assumed that they were all weak?"
"Well, I guess so. I know I can't take on a god, but I figured an avatar was too limited to threaten me."
Lin says "I am no expert on the gods, but I do know the stronger pantheons are related to the empires. The rest of the pantheons are much weaker. The three gods of magic are all part of the stronger pantheons. In fact, one of them is the leader of a pantheon. You really shouldn't underestimate them."
"Alright, you've made your point. I didn't think this through properly."
Lin says "Besides, there is another problem with your idea. To cover the continent, the spell would have to be cast from the center and that is a very dangerous area."
"What's so dangerous about it?"
Lin says "There are ruins there, inhabited by extremely dangerous monsters. I am not sure if the ruins are from Bull's people or another civilization, but it is a no-man's land."
"Actually, I might need to go there."
Lin says "What? Why?!"
"There are several reasons. One, I need stronger enemies if I want to get stronger. Two, the amount of experience I need to level up is massive. Three, I need to figure out why those people built the temples before I finish destroying them."
Lin says "I can't deny those are good reasons, but there are other options. The strength and experience you can get elsewhere and Bull will handle the third from what he said."
"True, Bull may get the information I need, or he may not. I don't know how strong he is, he might not be able to get into the ruins. Where else can I find strong beasts to fight? Do you actually know of someplace or are you just trying to keep me from going to the center of the continent?"
Lin says "I actually do know of several dangerous places. Or at least I have heard about them, I haven't actually been to them."
"Will you tell me about them? Please?"
Lin says "Of course I will, but I thought you didn't want any adventures right now?"
"I don't, not right now anyway. I want to know, for later."
Lin says "Even if one is fairly close to us right now?"
"Even then. Wait, is one close to us?"
