Then again, improvements to my eyes would be immediately useful, more metal wouldn't be. Even if I had more metal right this second I wouldn't be able to use it. If I had all the metal I needed to float the ship, that wouldn't be all I needed.
Floating the ship is only part of the problem, I would also need to be able to control it. After all, what good would an airship that can't ever land or go over mountains be? Other than altitude control I would also need a means of propulsion other than wind.
Propellers would be my best bet, but then there is the problem of how to power them. While I have a lot of knowledge from my old world, how to build an engine from scratch isn't part of it. Meaning I would need to find a magical solution, which would take some time.
Because of all that I am in no rush to get the metal, hence why I don't want to use the energy. Although, now that I am thinking about it, it should have been long enough since I last upgraded my eyes. Since upgrading my eyes might help me identify what is in the crates I may as well do it now.

You can identify items and evaluate opponents up to Deity rank.
'Damn, I'm out of energy! I was hoping it would be enough to get it to rank 10!'
Despite it not reaching rank ten, since it says it can work on Deity rank items I take out the egg. Of course, I am careful and use my mana to handle the egg so I don't get sucked in. I would never hear the end of it if I let myself be trapped again, can't let that happen.
Fire God Seed
Grade: Deity
Power: 933/5000
Description: The remains of the Fire God. With enough energy or a suitable host will resurrect the Fire God.
So, it wasn't actually trying to turn me into a god, it was trying to use me to resurrect the fire god. The energy being so low is probably the only reason I was able to break free. It must have been giving off fire mana to lure in someone who could act as a host.
This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings.
Meaning the energy it needs is probably something else, something stronger than mana. I could probably charge it up with Origin Energy, but I don't want to bring back the fire god. Although, now I am curious about what type of energy it needs and if I can steal what is inside it.
Draining all the energy would probably destroy the egg, but I would be okay with that. It should be some type of fire energy, which should mean I can make use of it. However, I can't use the hammer on it because that would purify the energy.
My drain ability would probably work on it, but that would require me to touch the egg. So first I need to figure out a way to keep the egg from sucking me in again. By now I might be strong enough on my own to resist it, but I can't take that risk.
For now, I put the egg back in my pouch until I can think of how I want to do this. Then I turn my attention back to the crates and start sorting through them. Quite a few of them have rare looking plants that are giving off mana.
However, the plants are probably meant for alchemy and I am not really interested in that. I put them in my pouch for now, later I will give them to the elves, maybe they can find a use for them. The remaining crates have materials that I don't really have a use for right now, except for one.
According to my eyes it is called Infinity Stone and has strong spacial energies. My first thought is that I can use it to improve the enchantment on the ship. However, after scanning it I realize a problem, it won't interact with inorganic substances.
What that means is if I use it on the ship to increase the space on the inside people won't be able to go in. The only real use the stone has would be for a storage item, but it would only hold stones and metals. However, there have been plenty of times the pouch has run out of space, hence why I made the backpacks.
Besides, I have always wanted a storage ring like those in many manga. Since I still have some time before it gets dark I start experimenting with the Infinity Stone. First I use my mana to compress the stone and shape it into a ring.
Luckily, I got tons of practice with the ship so this part is very easy for me. Then I start filling the ring with mana, but to my surprise I run out of mana before it is filled. I never expected it to be able to store that much mana, but I quickly meditate to recover my mana.
By the time my mana is full again it is dark, but instead of scouting I keep filling the ring. Luckily, the ring reaches its capacity before I run out of mana again. I have had plenty of practice doing the spacial enchantments, but it has never been this easy before.
The material actually acts to help me set up the enchantment, making me worry. However, after repeated scanning I am sure there is no intelligence to the stone. It seems that the description saying the stone had spacial energy was an understatement.
What's more, the spacial enchantment doesn't even take a quarter of the mana in the ring. Despite that, the space in the ring is already five times that of the pouch. If it wasn't for the fact that it rejects organic material it would be far superior.
However, now I need to decide what else to do with the ring since there is still a lot of mana left to use. After all, if I just let the mana sit eventually it will become unstable and explode. While I am thinking I add all the basic enchants, repair, toughness, comfort, and some others.
Those don't even use up a tenth of the remaining mana so I need to think of something big. Either that or I am going to need to put in a ton of small enchantments. I need to hurry up since I am supposed to be scouting the city right now, wait that gives me an idea.
After a bit of experimenting I figure out an enchantment that will boost my mana sense. When even that doesn't use all the mana I also add the protection about magical detection I came up with. However, even with those I have only used a little less than half the original amount of mana.
