"Oh, yeah. I had forgotten about that. So, anything good?"
Lin says "I don't know. I haven't had a chance to look through them yet."
"Well, let me know what you find. Aside from that, there is something else that I want you to do for me."
Lin says "Oh? What's on your mind?"
"I want you to summon someone from my old world. It needs to be a specific type of person though. You are probably going to have to talk to Krenocia about the spell she used to summon me."
Lin says "That shouldn't be a problem, but what type of person do you want to summon?"
"A tattoo artist that isn't going to freak out too much about being summoned. Also, preferably a male tattoo artist."
Lin says "I get the rest, but why a male?"
"I have enough trouble with women without summoning more!"
Lin's only response is to laugh at me, but she does promise to talk to Krenocia. When she asks, I show her the tattoo that I designed and explain all of the functions. Unfortunately, I am not much of an artist, never was, so the design doesn't look very good.
Lin quickly picks apart my design and focuses on studying the four formations. She then suggests a few changes and a way for me to integrate them better. We quickly start drawing different designs to see what looks the best, the kids even come up with a few.
Lin says "Are you planning this tattoo for yourself?"
"No, just the mana gathering and purifying. I tested the others, but the amount of mana needed for them to affect me is ridiculous."
Lin says "That makes sense. You are already ridiculously powerful, so to boost you further would require a lot of power. Then who are you planning the full set of tattoos for?"
"I was thinking of using it for the soldier among the beastmen."
Lin says "That would make the army much more powerful. In that case, why not use all of these designs and then the soldiers can choose the one they like?"
"That's a good idea. It also saves us from arguing about which one is the best. Alright, we will go with that."
With that settled, the kids go to watch cartoons and Lin heads to the library. I head down to my workshop, planning to do a little work with materials, but then I realize that I forgot something. I made ink and designed the tattoo, but I didn't make any tattooing equipment.
Even at the most simple I would need to make tattoo needles, but what I really need is a tattoo gun. Most tattoo artists that I knew of in my old world didn't learn the old methods. Meaning whoever we summon probably won't be able to work without a tattoo gun.

Luckily, while I only have a general idea of how a tattoo gun works, I have magic. Magic allows me to cheat and in the end will probably make a better tattoo gun than technology can. However, for now I only work out a general design and the enchantments I think it will need.
I will wait to make the actual gun until the tattoo artist is summoned and get their input. This way, I can make the gun fit the person and add any and all options that they want it to have. Once that is done, I head upstairs to see if Lin is ready to go to bed yet.
When I approach her in the library, she is working on a very complicated looking spell. She is engrossed in her work and doesn't notice me at first, otherwise she would hide it. Just a quick glimpse is enough for me to see that it is a spell dealing with breaking dimensions.
"What's that?"
Lin jumps at the sound of my voice and quickly uses a book to hide the spell from my eyes.
Lin says "I was working on the summoning spell, just like you asked."
"Oh. So, you already talked to Krenocia?"
Lin says "Yes, I did. She told me what I needed to know, but also reminded me not to let you know the spell. So forget whatever it is you managed to see before you spoke up!"
"Alright, I will forget about it. How is it going?"
Lin says "I am pretty sure I can target a tattoo artist with the mental strength to handle being summoned. Unfortunately, Krenocia had no idea how to specify gender, so it will be up to luck."
"That's not good, my luck is horrible!"
Lin says "That's true. So, we should probably plan on getting a female tattoo artist."
"In that case, you are going to have to be the one to talk to her first."
Lin says "That won't work. I am not from your world, I won't know what to say. You should be the one to talk to her."
"No, I don't plan to take human form. I will meet her, but only after you warn her that I am not human. That way, hopefully she won't be interested in me."
Lin says "I guess that might work. What should I say to her though?"
"Don't worry, I will tell you exactly what to say. Although, we shouldn't be too sure that it will be a woman. If we plan for a woman, we will probably get a man."
Lin says "Isn't that what you want though?"
"Well, yeah. Alright, we will plan for a woman. When will the spell be ready?"
"It is almost ready now. I can probably finish it in an hour or so, but do we want to summon her tonight?"
"No, we will wait for tomorrow. After lunch would probably be best. Do you need me to set up a summoning circle or anything for you?"
Lin says "No, I already have everything that I need. This won't be any harder than summoning stacks of books."
"Okay. Do you want to head to bed, or finish the spell first?"
Lin says "I will finish the spell, then we can go to bed."
"Alright."
Lin waits for me to move away before she goes back to working on the spell. She is taking her promise to keep me from learning the spell pretty seriously. Since I don't really have time to work on anything, I sit down to read some manga while I wait.
It takes Lin a little over an hour to finish the spell and then we head to bed. We have a couple of rounds of fun before she falls asleep, but I am not in the mood to sleep. So, once she is sleeping soundly, I get up and return to the library to continue reading.
I quickly get lost in the story and before I know it morning has arrived. I go wake Lin up and then we head downstairs to join the kids for breakfast. After breakfast, while Lin is teaching the kids, I go back to reading my manga.
I rejoin the others for lunch and then the kids head to the shadow plane. Once the kids are gone, I coach Lin on what to say to whoever ends up getting summoned. After Lin has memorized what to say, she goes into the library to perform the summoning while I wait outside the door.
