Myria says "Does that mean you have missions for us as well?"

"Yes, everyone is going to have a mission, including me."

Isabella says "What is my mission?"

"You are going to a village in the kingdom with an adventurer escort if I can arrange it."

Isabella says "Okay, may I ask why?"

"Because this gold is only a start, we are going to need more. The village I am talking about has a lot of gold that is partially mine. I want you to retrieve it, and the villagers if they want to come."

Isabella says "Okay, I think I can manage that."

Drog says "I want to go with her!"

Isabella and I yell "No!!"

Everyone has a good laugh at that, except Drog who slinks off into another room to sulk. We then sit down and start counting out the gold coins, we need to separate them into usable amounts. When Sarah comes up with our dinner I ask her for bags we can use for the gold, she also tells me I am meeting the city master in the morning.

Since he is also the master of the adventurers guild I plan to ask him about hiring the escort for Isabella. I also at some point plan to have the girls join the adventurer's guild, so they can gain experience when I am not around. If they want to anyway, I doubt Leyla will, but I don't plan to force anyone to do anything if I can help it.

Mericel returns while we are eating and I ask her to go to Mercy to let the others know I am back safe. I also ask her to get the latest information on how the war is going. I've got a lot of things to do but I will need to join Mercy for the attack on the king's palace, I have to deal with the shadow demons.

Who knows what they have been up to, but I doubt they have been just sitting and waiting this whole time. I hope to have enough time before then to set my plans in motion and destroy at least one of the temples. Since I don't know what kind of time I have it is best to just do what I can and deal with things as they come up.

Most of my plans will take a while to get going anyway, but once I start them they should progress on their own. That's the thing about having people I can trust, once I set their direction I can just let them go. It is much better than having to watch over their shoulders to make sure they are doing what I have asked them to do.

Pol I trust almost as much as the girls, and Annya has a really good head on her shoulders, in fact they would probably make a great couple. If it happens it happens, I am not playing matchmaker! I can only imagine the chaos that would ensue if I opened that particular bag of cats!

Myria says "You never told me what my mission was going to be?"

"About that, how hard would it be for you to visit your tribe?"

Myria says "Easy enough, it has been a long time since I was banished."

"Then I would like you to do so."

Myria says "Okay, but why?"

"I want you to find others like you, I am picturing a group of cavalry archers with you at their head."

Myria says "I don't really see the point, but if that's what you want I will do it."

"Okay, good!"

Myria says "And what is your mission going to be?"

"Well, first I have to get all this stuff in town sorted out, and deal with the political stuff with the government. Then I hope to be able to go and destroy the temple of wind before Mercy needs me."

Myria says "Let me guess, you plan to go alone?"

"Not entirely, I will have Lizzy and Drog with me."

Drog yells "I don't want to go!"

"Shut up! You will do as you are told or I will let the high priestesses banish you!"

Isabella says "He seems to be getting worse."

"He is throwing a tantrum like a child and I am about ready to end him."

Myria says "I thought he was useful to you?"

"He was in the past, but he is less useful now."

Vacker says "He is a demon right? How is it he obeys you?"

"He is under a slave contract with me."

Vacker says "Wow! How did you manage that?!"

"I beat him in a soulscape, it was either the contract or permanent death."

Vacker says "That's strange, most demons would choose death."

Since we are done eating I tell Vacker the details of how I met and tamed Drog. Deciding to join in for story time the girls both tell Vacker how I saved them, they make me sound heroic. I don't feel like a hero, I feel like I have only ever done what I needed to survive or what I wanted to do.

The girls of course would never understand, to them I am the hero that saved them from a horrible situation. To argue that I am not a hero is to make less of what they went through so I just keep my mouth shut. Besides Vacker is a warrior, he should understand that things aren't always as described.

Vacker says "You sure have been a busy little demon since you were summoned."

"Ah, actually I wasn't originally a demon. That happened about the time I fought Drog, guess I forgot to mention that part."

Vacker says "So tell me now. How does one become a demon?"

It takes a while to explain since first he has to understand my ability to absorb things. Which leads to a longer conversation with me explaining the system I see and my skills. We probably would have gone on all night but we are interrupted by Sarah coming into the room.

Sarah says "I heard you wanted to see me? Sorry it took so long, dinner is always the busiest part of the day."

"It's fine, just have a few questions. First, we need to convert one of the empty buildings into a swordsmanship school for Vacker here to run."

Sarah says "That should be no problem! What's the second?"

"I want to know about the streets bordering this one. What condition are they in?"

Sarah says "Most of the residents believed the rumors and moved out. The streets are mostly abandoned, why?"

"Who would I need to talk to about buying them?"

Pol says "You are going to buy more streets?"

"That is part of the plan for the future. For example, if Isabella brings back the villagers we will need space for them."

Myria says "Just how many plans are you working on at the same time?"

"Oh, about a dozen or so right now, why?"

Sarah says "Isn't that a lot to keep track of?"

"It is, but I am doing the best I can."
