The angel looks terrified, but he clamps his mouth shut and refuses to speak. Since he is being stubborn, I use a single claw and start slowly cutting his chest open. As soon as his core is exposed, the angel panics and starts yelling in a strange language.
I'm guessing that it is the angels' language and that he is calling for help. He was probably thinking that I would just kill him and he would go home. If I take his core, he will truly die and that is why he is suddenly panicking.
I wait until I sense another surge of magic and then I rip the angel's core out. The angel dies as soon as I remove his core and I start looking around. The new angel appears near the cleric and I am happy to see that this one has six wings.
Not only that, he has very nice looking armor and a sword that looks powerful. He opens his mouth like he wants to say something, but I just fire my breath weapon at him. It only hurts the angel a little, but the human cleric and knights are a different story.
By the time my breath is done, the angel and I are the only ones left alive. He looks enraged, but I don't give him the chance to do anything as I rush right up to him. As soon as I am close enough, he takes a swing at me with his sword, but I parry it with a claw.
The look on his face when I parry his attack so easily is absolutely hilarious. However, I don't let that distract me as I aim at his head with my other hand. If possible, I would prefer to kill him without doing major damage to his armor.
The angel brings an arm up to try and block my claws, but that ends up being a mistake. Even though his armor covers his arm, my claws still cut right through it. Cutting through his arm only slows my claws down a little and they still have enough force to go through his head.

Just like that, the angel dies, I was hoping that he would put up a better fight. It has been long enough since I had a good fight that I am starting to get overconfident. Maybe the demon lords wouldn't be as much of a problem as I have been thinking they would be.
I take the angel's sword and armor, then I cut him open and remove his heart and core. I should probably leave the area since Holos is bound to notice the death of one of his archangels, but I don't. I am feeling somewhat cocky, so I stay put and eat the archangel's heart.

Devour Activated: Strength +50, Wisdom +100, Willpower +50!
Then I take out the first angel's core and examine it to see if it gives me the option to absorb it. When that doesn't work, I try activating my Absorb ability instead.
Absorb Activated: Wisdom +10, DP +50, Evolution Points +5!
Excited that it worked, I quickly switch to the archangel's core and activate Absorb again.
Absorb Activated: Strength +50, Endurance +50, Wisdom +50, Charisma +50, DP +200, Evolution Points +50!
After seeing all the benefits of absorbing angel cores I am hoping Holos sends more after me. It is only after waiting for fifteen minutes or so that I realize that it isn't going to work. I still have my cloak on, Holos can't even see me so he probably isn't going to act.
With that being the case, there is no real point in me staying here any longer. Before I leave, I shapeshift into my beastman form and put the archangel's armor on. It is a beautiful silvery golden color and goes really well with my crown.
It is made of thousands of tiny scales that are connected in a way I can't figure out. It adjusts to fit my form perfectly, even if I have my wings out, although that's to be expected. It is enchanted using divine power and this time I can actually understand the enchantments.
The material it is made from is nothing I have ever seen before, but I was expecting that. Unfortunately, most of the enchantments on the armor are useless to me, they are specifically for angels. I haven't ever tried disenchanting something done with divine power, but it should work similarly to mana.
However, this isn't the time or place for experimenting, so I turn my attention to the sword. As soon as I pick it up I can tell that it is perfectly balanced for use with either one hand or two. That alone is pretty impressive and I can't help but wonder how they accomplished it.
I figure it out as soon as I take a look at the enchantments, it's a shapeshifting sword. However, I can also see that there are several errors in the shapeshifting enchantment. It is also obvious why there are errors, whoever enchanted it didn't have full knowledge of the divine language.
That means that it probably wasn't made by a god, more likely a god's minion. That makes me wonder if the gods have a city where they can meet up and shop. If so, I would love to visit it and take a look at what is available to buy.
I bet the girls would like that too, I will have to try and remember to ask the goddesses. The sword also has enchantments specifically for angels, so I am going to have to ask for permission to experiment anyway. I am not about to try disenchanting divine items without getting permission first.
I am well aware that Seronia and Krenocia have very little sense of humor when it comes to divine power. Now that I know they can talk to Lin without me, them getting mad is even scarier. In fact, I should talk to them soon, so that I don't forget what I want to ask them.
When I check the archangel's body I find a nice scabbard for the sword. Luckily, since it is built for angels, it is designed to go on the back between the wings. I have gotten used to having wings and it feels weird when I don't have them.
At this point, I will probably keep my wings even if I shapeshift into human form. Oh, I bet I can get the girls to dress up like nuns and then play the angel visiting them. I will definitely have to keep that in mind for the next time that we are together.
After putting the sword on my back, I take off and fly back to where I left the beastmen. They are still in the same spot, letting the slaves rest, but they have a lot of scouts out. When the scouts spot me returning they spread the word and people start cheering.
