Roddick says "How did you know the shards would break through my shield?"
"I didn't know there was a shield!"
Ambrose says "If there wasn't a shield I think most of us would be headed to the infirmary. So, thank you, Roddick!"
Borrik says "Hm, I wonder if he could punch through a castle wall as easily as that?"
Roddick says "If it wasn't spell shielded then I imagine he could."
Borrik says "So on the guild registry should we list him as a siege weapon?"
Borrik starts laughing at his own joke and several other people join in, but I see a somewhat serious look on Roddick's face as he looks at me. I really don't think they are going to list me as a siege weapon, but I guess in a way I do qualify as one. Looking around I did quite a bit of damage to the arena, which I am probably going to have to pay for.
Ambrose says "Alright, let's go upstairs and finish your paperwork. Don't worry about the arena, we will get it cleaned and fixed."
"Once you do, send me the bill."
Ambrose says "Don't worry about it, it was my fault for not taking enough precautions for your test. Speaking of that, Roddick, I'm going to want to hire mages to enchant this place properly."
Roddick says "Sure thing, I'll give you a discount."
"Are there mages who are in both guilds?"
Roddick says "Yes, a few. Why?"
"Just wondering what level of cooperation the guilds have."
Borrik says "Those two work together some, and you've already seen that Pelos and Scott work together. Other than that there isn't much at all."
"Would everyone have come together against an outside threat if the kingdom had attacked?"
Ambrose says "While I would like to say yes, the honest answer is probably not."
Borrik says "The three of our guilds would have worked together, but support from the others would have been doubtful."
"Do you think you could have won?"
Roddick says "No, our guilds, while having good people, are not trained for actual war."

Borrik says "If we had you on our side it would be a different story. I still can't believe the four of them couldn't touch you."
"Why is that so hard to believe?"
Borrik says "Because, they are the four best swordsmen in the city."
"They aren't sword masters! Wait, are you saying Illium doesn't have a sword master?"
Borrik says "There hasn't been a true sword master since the fall of the ancient empire."
"Is becoming a sword master so hard?"
Ambrose says "Yes! You have to master all sword styles and every type of sword!"
"Oh, the sword master I met didn't tell me all that."
Borrik yells "You met a sword master?!"
Roddick says "It wasn't one of the fakes from the empire was it?"
"No, I met him while I was a prisoner. He was the sword master for Lady Xinun."
Borrik says "He must have been the real thing! No way would a demon lord keep a fake around!"
Ambrose says "Is that where you learned to dodge like that?"
"Yeah, that's one of the things he taught me."
Borrik says "Oh, I would love to meet a true sword master!"
"Alright, come to the inn for dinner and I will introduce you."
Ambrose yells "What?!? He's here?!?"
"Yeah, I brought him back with me. I am having him start a school for me."
Ambrose says "Can I meet him too??"
"Sure! Roddick?"
Roddick says "Thank you for the offer but a sword master doesn't interest me that much."
"Understandable. So why don't you two come to the inn around six. Assuming we are done with everything here by then."
Ambrose says "Oh, we don't have much left to do. We just need to make your guild card."
Borrik says "He means Jezzel needs to make it while we sit and talk."
Roddick says "Ambrose doesn't like making guild cards, he thinks it is tedious."
Ambrose says "It is! You just sit and channel mana into the machine, it's boring!"
"At least there is a machine and you don't have to do it by hand."
Ambrose says "That's the truth!"
Roddick says "Now if only we could invent a machine that would do all the paperwork!"
Ambrose says "If you could do that I would nominate you as a new god!!"
"Haha, as what, the god of paperwork!?"
Roddick says "No, thank you!"
Borrik says "No, if he took all the paperwork away he would be the god of laziness!"
Ambrose says "Are you calling me lazy?"
Borrik says "Yes! Whenever it is something boring you are the king of laziness!"
Ambrose says "Oh, like you have room to talk!"
Roddick says "Alright, that's enough you two!"
Jezzel says "Here is your guild card, Lord Ash."
"Thank you, Jezzel."
Ambrose says "Make sure you don't lose that!"
"It's just a guild membership isn't it?"
Ambrose says "Well, yes, but being a member of the guild carries benefits."
"What kind of benefits?"
Jezzel says "For one thing since the guild is active in the other three nations the guild card acts as a passport allowing you to move freely."
Ambrose says "Also, most cities waive the entry fees for guild members."
"That is useful! Speaking of fees, I am assuming there are guild fees or dues that I need to pay?"
Ambrose says "No, they are already taken care of."
"That isn't necessary, I can afford a few fees."
Ambrose says "And I don't think it is necessary for you to pay fees after saving my city!"
Borrik says "I think he's got you there, Ash."
"Alright, fine. I'll drop it."
Ambrose says "Good. Then I believe we are done."
Jezzel says "There is nothing else the guild needs."
"Okay, then I will see you at dinner."
Borrik says "Yes!"
Ambrose says "I'm looking forward to it, I'm curious if the food is as good as Borrik claims."
"It is. Roddick you are still welcome to join us if you change your mind."
Roddick says "Thank you, Ash."
"Jezzel, you are also welcome to come along and meet the sword master if you want."
Jezzel says "Thank you, I would love to!"
