Ep. 775 The Undead War Part 5

As I continue draining the general I am trying very hard not to become addicted. The taste is just that good, but I need to think of something else! The amount of energy the general has is really amazing, maybe as much as a hundred energy.

It makes me wonder which is going to piss off the maker more, the loss of energy or the loss of a general. I really wish I had a way to spy on her and see how she reacts when she finds out! Unfortunately, I don't know any spells that would let me do that, but it sure would be fun.

Devour Activated: +50 Agility, +50 Charisma, +50 Willpower!

*DING*

Congratulations! Skill Devour has progressed to level 4!

Devour

Level 4

You can become stronger by consuming the flesh or blood of strong enemies.

That is useful, but I wonder if blood was added because I was playing vampire. The general turns to ashes in front of me and after that I end the soulscape. When I return to the real world I find ashes drifting around inside the bubble with me.

The undead are also now acting like a mob which should mean there isn't a second general. However, I am now feeling the pain of holding too much Origin Energy. Before I can go back to helping kill the undead I need to do something to use up some energy.

Since I am in a rush I simply take out a chunk of Armatite and start showing energy into it. I don't want to waste time playing around with the pure energy so I ignore it for now. The amount of Armatite increases rapidly as I use up about half of the Origin Energy I have.

Using the hundred energy from the general the small piece of Armatite grows rapidly. It goes from the size of a pinky to the size of a person's head in seconds. While that might not seem like much compared to the amount of energy used, it is certainly worth it.

As soon as I am done I throw the Armatite back into my pouch and charge back into the fight. Even though the undead are now fighting as a mob, the murlocs are still losing. All killing the general did was balance the scale for a while, but the murlocs are still tired.

Now it is all going to depend on whether or not I can kill undead fast enough. If I can keep the scale at even, then I will be the only one left standing. If I can't, then I will have to face the remaining undead alone, but I can handle that.

Even if there are thousands of undead left it will just mean I have to give up on stealing energy. However, that is still hours away at the rate things are going currently. For my part, I just keep swinging the hammer and beating down the undead.

When I run out of mana to maintain the bubble I retreat to the beach, have a meal, and meditate. As soon as my mana recovers I dive back into the ocean and go back to playing whack-a-mole. Fighting the undead is extremely boring, but I want the energy so I have no choice.

Unauthorized tale usage: if you spot this story on Amazon, report the violation.

It makes me wonder if I could make something to do this for me, like a golem. As long as I make it so that it can store the energy and give it to me later, it might work. The enchantments to make it move on its own would be the tricky part.

It would be easier to summon Bones, if it would even work, but I am not sure if he could hold the energy. Although, it might be interesting to see what would happen to Bones if he absorbed the energy. As far as I know, Bones is immortal, so the energy shouldn't be able to kill him.

Even if it did, it shouldn't be a permanent death, I should be able to resummon him. It might be worth a shot, and it has been a long time since I have seen Bones. I wonder what he is like now after spending so much time being trained by Vacker.

'Summon Bones!'

As I wait for him to appear I keep beating down the undead, but he doesn't show up. After a few minutes pass I am convinced that it didn't work, probably because I am too far away. It is understandable, I am basically on the other side of the planet from where I left him.

However, after another few minutes pass Bones finally shows up, but he looks different. His armor looks a lot lighter, built more for dexterity and he has two swords at his waist. Then I remember that I left materials for Mitch to use to make him new gear.

Bones says "Master?"

"Yes, it is me. I am in a shapeshifted form right now. Although, my body has changed since you last saw me."

Bones says "I thought you had forgotten about me!"

"No, I just wasn't sure if the summon would work at this distance. I also wanted to give you time to train before summoning you, since now you are stuck here."

Bones says "Where is here? And why is there so much undead energy?"

As I start telling Bones about what has happened and about the maker, I continue killing undead. Bones just stands in place and listens, like what's going on around him doesn't matter. I would have expected him to just jump right into the fight, it seems he has learned self control.

'His stats have improved a lot! Looks like his class has also upgraded.'

Now that I know what his base stats are I hand him the hammer and have him kill undead. While he is doing so I continue telling him about the current situation, about the ship and the elves. If he is going to be helping me he needs to at least know who our allies are.

Next I tell him in detail about the maker's energy and how it turns into Origin Energy. I am not sure if he understands it all, but so far he seems like he does. His intelligence has obviously increased a lot and he can hold a normal conversation now.

Bones says "Will this energy make me stronger?"

"That is what I am looking to find out. I think it will, but I can't be sure."

Bones says "Could I become as strong as the maker?"

"Not just from these weak undead, but if you kill enough of the ancient undead, maybe. Why?"

Bones says "If I reached the power level of the maker, would I be free?"

"I don't know. Honestly I know very little about the spell I used to create you. Is that what you want? To be free?"

Bones says "Of course! Doesn't every living being desire freedom?"

"You would be surprised. However, if you want to be free then I will try to figure out how to free you."
