Lin says "I like that plan. More variety would be nice. You tend to focus too much on meat dishes."
"That's because other than Albion all the kids are carnivores and so am I."
Lin says "Personally, I would like to add more choices, especially desserts."
"That's fine. We will be in the city for a while, plenty of time to try out various foods."
Lin says "Are we going to have the funds for that? I don't have much gold left."
"I've got some and I can always get more."
Lin says "Aren't you planning to keep a low profile until we recover the elves? Just how do you plan to get money?"
"Yes, we will be trying to keep out of trouble. I can make and sell a few enchanted items for money. It is not hard and I have enough money to get the materials I will need."
Lin says "Doing that will draw other kinds of attention, but we should be gone before trouble can find us."
"Are you talking about the Magic Kingdom or the churches?"
Lin says "The kingdom. The churches won't pay attention to new magical items appearing, but the mages will."
"If all goes according to plan we will be gone long before they can arrive."
Lin says "Are things going to go according to plan?"
"I hope so, but probably not. Things rarely do."
Lin says "Well, whatever happens, I'm sure that you will figure it out. I am also sure that whatever happens, it will be fun."
"Hopefully. Considering that the city fights against demons, I don't want to start any trouble or do any damage to it if I can help it. I especially don't want to harm any innocents and I am counting on you to remind me if I try something crazy."
Lin says "Are you giving me permission to smack you if you do something that endangers innocents?"
"Yes, I am. It's obvious that my judgment hasn't been the best lately. I trust you to help me when I don't realize it is bad."
Lin says "I am glad that you trust me so much, but I would prefer it if we focused on helping you recover."
"I plan to keep working on it, with your help, but in the meantime I don't really trust my own judgment anymore."
Lin says "Alright, I understand. I will support you as much as I possibly can. Just remember your promise not to run away from me."

"Don't worry, I won't forget. Oh!"
Lin says "What? What's wrong?"
"I think I just figured out how to make those zippers!"
Lin says "You scared me just for that?!"
"Sorry. The idea just popped into my head."
While Lin watches, I quickly take out the materials and try out my idea before it disappears. The result is rather crude, but it is a working zipper and that is the important part. Now that I have figured it out I can work on improving the design so it is less crude.
Lin says "How does this even work?! Are you sure it isn't magic?"
"It isn't magic, but it is kind of hard to explain. That's why it took me so long to figure out how to make one."
Lin says "Now that you have figured it out you can make more, right? After seeing it, I want to replace the laces on all of my dresses!"
"Haha, yes, I can make as many as you want."
Lin says "Great! Fifty or so should do it. I will ask for more when I run out."
With a sigh and a smile, I sit down at the table with her and start making zippers. I only stop when I notice that the kids have all fallen asleep, then I hand over the completed ones. Before opening the soulscape, I use up my mana making underwear and drop them into my pouch.
Lin says "What are you doing? Shouldn't you be handing those to me as well?"
"Oh? I had planned on giving them to you when I was done making them."
Lin says "No, I don't want to wait to be comfortable. Hand them over!"
With a laugh I take all the ones I have made out of my pouch and hand them over. Then I close my eyes, open the soulscape, and invite all the usual people. Lin is normally the first one to enter, but for some reason this time she is the last.
"What kept you?"
Lin says "I was getting changed."
"Oh."
Immediately my mind wanders off, but I force it back on track and create the castle. Then I create a movie theater and start showing an anime, Knights & Magic. Brightfire joins us in watching the anime, probably because it has knights in it.
Myria plays with the kids for a while then comes over to join us in the theater. She sits next to me, opposite of Lin, and without thinking I put an arm around her. She immediately copies Lin and snuggles in against my side, but it doesn't bother me.
Now that I am starting to get used to the idea, having both of them in my arms feels good. Of course, my feelings for Lin are still stronger, but I am starting to see Myria that way too. It helps that she has toned things down and isn't as aggressive as she used to be.
If she can stay this way, then this whole thing might actually work out alright. The only problem is that with the way she is sitting the tips of her ears are near my face. It makes me really want to play with them, but that would be rude since this is just the soulscape.
Actually, I realize that I don't know if her ears are sensitive, that is something from anime. However, now really isn't the time to ask, so I do my best to ignore her ears. When I see her in person, I will ask about her ears and if I am allowed to play with them.
The kids eventually get tired of playing and come over to watch the anime. Luckily, those of them that fall asleep automatically leave the soulscape. It is possible to sleep in a soulscape, but it takes a trick to do it and it doesn't really benefit you.
Lin says "Please tell me you don't plan to try and build any of these giant metal suits."
"Nope. I'm not enough of an engineer for that. I have already decided that I won't do anything to advance the technology level of this world. The only exception to that is making the ship fly, if I can manage it."
Lin says "Okay, good."
"It wouldn't be too bad, they are basically just piloted golems."
Lin says "I've never seen a golem that can do half of what those do!"
"Golems don't seem very common, but I did run into one that was pretty advanced. It was a snake and it even managed to reflect one of my spells. If I wasn't stronger than it was, I would have been in trouble."
Lin says "True. Golem makers are fairly rare, mainly because learning to be one is extraordinarily expensive. The few that I have read about that mastered making golems were really powerful though."
