"I would welcome you, but that isn't possible. When I leave this world I can't take anything or anyone with me."
Nived says "Don't forget, I was a powerful mage before I was cursed. In fact I was known as the most powerful fire mage in the empire. I will find a way to follow you!"
"So you can use your magic again now?"
With a snap of his fingers a small flame appears in Nived's hand and dances around. The flame is weak looking and only lasts a few seconds but considering he didn't chant a spell or make any special gestures it is impressive.
Nived says "Yes. Although, it seems I am out of practice and will need to remember a lot that I had forgotten."
"Well, if you can find a way to follow me back to my world then you can join me. In the meantime you are welcome to help me fight against the invasion. That is the reason I came to this world."
Nived says "Sure, it will give me a chance to practice my magic and get used to this new body."
Raindrop says "Isn't it similar to your original body?"
Nived says "Not at all! I was short, skinny, and bald! I also wasn't this strong, right now I am almost as strong as I was when I was a troll."
"Sounds like you are okay with the new body."
Nived says "Absolutely! It is amazing!"
"Just be prepared to face discrimination. After all, you don't look fully human."
Nived says "I can handle that. It can't be anywhere near as bad as being a troll and being hunted anytime someone spotted me."
Raindrop says "Don't underestimate the cruelty of humans."
"She's right, you should mentally prepare yourself."
Nived says "As long as they don't attack me on sight I will be fine."
"Oh, right. How come the goblins were attacking you?"
Nived says "They were trying to recruit me to join the army but I refused."
Raindrop says "If they are recruiting every monster they come across that could be a problem."
"Yeah, I anticipated that. Most of the monsters along their path should have already been hunted."
Raindrop says "Oh! You constantly surprise me!"
Unicorn says "At first, I thought you were insane with your claims of coming from another world. But now I am starting to think maybe you are telling the truth."
"I am. Can't you sense the truth? Or do you not have the ability to detect a lie?"
Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings.
Unicorn says "I do have the ability, but it doesn't work as well on other sacred creatures."
"That is good to know."
Unicorn says "Why?"
"In case I ever need to lie to a sacred creature!"
Unicorn says "Aren't you worried about being lied to as well?"
"I have no ability to detect lies. I will just have to rely on my instincts."
Unicorn says "How do you not have the ability?"
"Probably because I wasn't born a sacred creature."
Raindrop says "Then how did you become one? I've never heard of a humanoid sacred creature before."
"That is another really long story."
Raindrop says "We seem to have some time now!"
So as camp is made and food is prepared I give a general description of what has happened to me. I keep the details sparse because they are having enough trouble believing what I am already telling them. After the prison food the mammoth steaks taste absolutely amazing and I eat more than I really should have.
Raindrop says "Oh, by the way. How do you like the items I made you?"
"They are amazing! I haven't had a chance to study them in detail but the craftsmanship is beyond my expectations!"
Raindrop says "I'm glad you like them!"
"I really wasn't expecting you to enchant them as well!"
Raindrop says "It is easier to do it as they are being crafted. Especially when the crafting takes a lot of time. All three pieces are enchanted with repair, clean, and protection. And when all three are worn they also protect against extreme temperatures."
"A set effect? That's awesome!"
Raindrop says "I made a hood to attach to the cloak but wasn't sure if you would want it so I left it off."
"Oh, a hood is always handy!"
Raindrop says "Then hand over the cloak and I will attach it now."
After handing over the cloak I watch intently as Raindrop starts attaching the hood to it. Her movements are so quick and precise that even concentrating fully I can't be sure I am seeing everything. I can tell instantly that even Walter could learn a lot from Raindrop, her skills are almost magical.

You can craft items from leather.
'Just from watching! Cool!'
"Your skill is amazing, Raindrop! Absolutely the best I have ever seen!"
Raindrop says "Thank you! Thanks to you I have plenty of excellent materials to work with!"
"It was no big deal. Although, I am curious what you used the feathers for?"
Raindrop says "Oh, here let me show you."
She takes out two pieces of material and then a bunch of feathers and starts arranging them. She lays out the feathers on top of one of the pieces of leather, until the entire thing is covered. Then she explains that the feathers of a griffon can add protection against piercing attacks.

You can craft decent items from leather.
'Just from an explanation? Is this the effect of a master?'
From my old life I knew about layering different materials so that isn't really surprising. What does surprise me is when she is done the finished product seems thinner than the materials she used. What doesn't make sense is I never once saw her compress the materials.
"How did it end up so thin? The leather you used was thicker than that!"
Raindrop says "Oh, this specific type of stitching is tight enough to compress the materials together."
"You got it that thin just from the type of stitch?!"
Raindrop says "Oh, yes! There are thousands of types of stitches, you choose the type based on the material you are working with and the type of item you are making."
"Huh, I never knew leatherworking was so complicated!"
Raindrop says "Well, human leatherworking isn't as complicated."
"Mine isn't even as good as a human's! I've only ever used one type of stitch!"
Raindrop says "You practice leatherworking?"
"Not compared to you! I'm self taught, it is too crude to be called real leatherworking."
Raindrop says "Well, if we have time I wouldn't mind teaching you some of the basics."
"I would love that!"
Unicorn says "I smell goblins!"
