"A-avoiding you...?" Mina managed a breathy squeak. "Umm, Willy, I uh..."
The gears turned in her head, and she grinned sheepishly. "If I was really avoiding you, why would I be standing here with you now?"
Blind shook his handsome head. "Two months later and this is the first time we've made eye contac...y'know what I mean. If I really didn't live up to that teenage fantasy in your head, you could at least tell me!"
Mina's jaw hung open. Even without eyes to glare at her, Blind was absolutely penetrating. "No...no that's not it at all," she said, turning her eyes right towards the man's blindfold. "You were dashing, chivalrous, witty, well dressed, well spoken, handsome, intelligent, smooth and most importantly, you paid our tab at a fancy French restaurant. Otherwise we'd have to eat at WacDonalds and I'd get us both Big Wacks."
Rather than take the compliments, Blind winced and gritted his perfectly white teeth. "Is it just because I can't gaze into those chestnut brown eyes you've told me about...Believe me, if I had my sight back that's the first thing I'd d..."
His words were silenced by Mina's warm soft hand placed in his. "No," she said, making the man's auburn skin shade slightly red. "That doesn't matter to me at all. It's just..."--she gazed out into the cosmos. "You're the first person I've dated since Chad died three years ago. And I just...I need to..."

Mina faced Blind again. Tears were in here eyes. "My new years resolution is to finally come to terms with what happened. I thought becoming a lawyer and crusading for truth, justice and lattes was going to make me feel better...but I still feel that emptiness in my heart. I had known him since grade school and..." she began to whimper.
Much to her surprise, she felt a hand touch the tears on her face and wipe them away. She brushed strands of hair from her face to look at Blind. A rare smile graced his face.
"Lawyers and prosecutors," he said, "seek truth and justice not to make ourselves feel better, but rather because its the right thing to do. Even if we cannot avenge the fallen, we can still make the world a place where a crime like that doesn't happen again. Chad may have died, but he allowed justice to flourish by bringing another great lawyer in the world."
Mina sobbed so loud she nearly snorted. Her eyes sparkled in the moonlight. "Do you mean..."
Blind leaned in close and planted a kiss on her lips. "You may be just a rookie," he said. "But you have brought great truth and justice to Business Park. Chad would be proud of you. I know I am..."
Mina wiped her remaining tears away. "This means so much to me," she cried. "How can I ever repay you..."
"Another date would be fine enough," Blind chuckled. "Though this time maybe you can take me to WacDonalds."
"It'll be on me!" Mina smiled and nodded her head. "I'll pay for those juicy big Wacks!"
"And I'm sure my stomach and arteries will pay later..." Blind said wryly. "Now that we got that out of the way, how about I finally gave you what you wanted from me..."
Mina's eyes continued to glisten like stars. "A glass full of sweet T?"
Blind nodded. "A whole pitcher full of T on my disastrous love life with my rival top prosecutor, Ashley Ryan."
