Chapter 169: Emoticats

Like a wretched stain on her hair, the rest of Mina's blonde hair dye washed down the drain. As she stepped from the shower, she was finally free of that gaudy hair color and happy to be a brainy brunette again.

She adored the bathroom in Blind's apartment. It was so clean and marbly and there were little dishes of poupori that smelled so fancy. The red and black towels were folded so beautifully she felt slight guilt unraveling them to dry herself off.

Yes, she had finally done it. She had cleared the ultimate boss level in her career. She had successfully infiltrated a multi-billionaire corporation and obtained damning evidence that would put it, and her biggest adversary, under water.

Mina reminisced on the likes of Charlotte O'Scara, a minor leader of the Aura and she was a small French fry compared to this. (Or a Georgia fry.) She had seriously not even thought of the Aura for a long while due to Electra usurping all of the attention. Soon, she could put Maxine Electra behind her too.

Once she sent Ashley the message containing the Zeus-inator, she could devote her time to being a cuddle-girlfriend for her boyfriend, who reclined on his black satin sheets.

Mina emerged from the bathroom in a signature pink bathrobe and a towel wrapped around her head.

"Well," Blind said, leaning with his hand on his head. "You don't smell like peroxide anymore. I'm thinking that somebody is back to their natural colour."

Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

Mina leaned back on the bed and sighed. "Thank Dog and God! I felt that peroxide was lowering my IQ by the second and I was becoming a brainless London Milton wannabe!"

"That isn't possible," Blind remarked, shaking his head. "Hair follicles don't determine brilliance. Especially when my blonde babe managed to single handedly outsmarted the biggest business mogul on the planet."

Mina reached out to touch his cool but soft hands as he pulled her closer. "Aww you're too kind. I'm so glad you don't see color. Hair color that is."

They fell back on the bed together and laughed. Even Blind could make light of his terrible affliction it seemed. Now she had to do the last annoying thing for the night: message the prissy prosecutor.

She crawled across the bed and grabbed her E-Phone. Ashley had given her her number and normally she'd not even register it in her phone. But this was different. The case depended on it.

"Hi Ashley," Mina tapped into her phone, her long nails clicking on the surface. She quickly erased the "Hi" and simply wrote "Ashley, I have located a weapon inside the Empire Electra Building. I think you can use this in your prosecution against Maxine."

She made sure to be strictly professional in her text. Ashley was far from a friend, despite them having shared a decent moment together after the Dustin Himbolake case.

Immediately, the prompt prosecutor typed back.

"Thank you."

It read.

And most surprisingly, a Ninja Kitty emoticon with happy U shaped eyes.

"Well, I'll be," Mina said. "Seems her emoticons are just as catty as she is. Or should I say, Emoticats!"

She quickly typed, "You're welcome, see you tomorrow" with a Ninja Kitty giving a thumbs up.

In a night of surprises, she didn't expect that one. Cuteness from someone who was strictly legal business.

She turned to Blind and fell back in his arms. Together, they cuddled the night away, unbothered by the world until next morning, when they were greeted with an awful surprise.
