Everyone stared dumbfounded at Vicki's self interest and insensitivity. Mina was well aware the best thing to do was to remain silent...but Victoria has other plans.
She began to dab at her eyes and sob loudly, employing the same technique she had done over Brad's body: pretty crying.
"I'm s-s-sorry," she cried. "I don't mean to come off as in-s-s-sensitive...it's just...I knew there was no way out of being judged from this c-c-crime, and I am a business mogul's daughter...any shot of me from the press is bound to get in the tabloids. So my face has to look perfect when I went to jail!"
The judge's stern, resting cranky-old-lady face hardly budged at her waterworks.. If anything, it enraged other members of the jury and audience. Mr. Gart was particularly incensed.
"Judge," he said, proudly. "Do you see what that heartless young harpy is doing? She's doing that pretty crying again. And she's not even wearing makeup this time! Scandalous!"
The audience gasped. Even Mina did. She slapped her forehead. "My lawd..." she muttered. "This is a miserable muck up!"
"So..." Justice Divine said with a swing of her hand in the air. "This means that..."
Lawvis Cresley gave a loud "uh huh!" and everyone turned to face the wannabe Elvis impersonator turned attorney. "I know this one! It means she's been fake crying this whole time. Your honor...the defense's testimony is all shook up!"
"Order!" the judge said, glaring at Lawvis. "There will be no more Elvis quotations in this court room do you understand? He stole my people's rock music and was never tried for his crime!"

Lawvis nodded. "S-sorry your honor," and he bowed and submissively planted his bottom in his chair. The judged turned to face Mina.
"But you are right. Miss Hawkins, it is clear to everyone in this courtroom that your client is putting on an act for needless sympathy. It does not make her look good. In fact, she is clearly the most suspicious person in this murder trial. It is obvious she was fake crying at the crime scene too."
"Er...uh..." Mina looked to Vicki who was attempting to pluck her eyelashes. "Vicki...?"
Victoria discarded an extra eyelash and looked at Mina. "Is there something on my face? Because I wouldn't be surprised without getting my spa and facial yesterday."
"Your honor," Lawvis said, raising a hand. "My client would like to testify. He says he can clearly give you a motive for why this valley girl would so viciously kill his son."
Divine Justice sighed. "Very well. I suppose it will give us the missing piece in this puzzle and..."
She was loudly interrupted by a boisterous, "Goooooooo Buffalos!!!"
Mr. Gart has risen from his seat and thrust his hands in the air. He gave a loud "whoo whoo whoo!" like he was an obnoxious dog mascot at a sport's game. (Or a buffalo in his case.) The man's bulk rose with him shaking like an enormous wine bag and his impromptu male cheerleading echoed through the hall of Lawson.
"I hope you know," Divine said, nearly burning holes in his head with her eyes. "Loud outbursts of any kind are not allowed in this courtroom.
Mr. Gart chuckled and rubbed his beer belly. "Just wanted to show some support for our local college program on live TV! After all, where else are you gonna convince young men to quit academics and devote their lives to kicking a ball around!"
Mina rolled her eyes. "Clearly," she muttered. "This guy has had too many footballs to the noggin!"
"Ah..." Mr. Gart said. "But where was I? The murder of my son..."
"Yes..." the judge growled. "That's why we're here. Not to televise some worthless sports program."
"Right on, granny," Mr. Gart said with a shining white grin. "I'm getting to that. I know exactly why this crazy girl would want to shoot my son. She was merely jealous of the other girl she was seeing..."
Mr. Brad Gart Senior flicked his fingers and winked at the judge.
"You see, much like his father, Brad Jr. was a masterful two-timing player in the game of L-U-V!"
