A giant set of white letters reading "Gollywood" on a hill overlooked the visiting parking lot for the famous movie studios. Mina could not believe her starstruck eyes that she was in the place all of her favorite movies were envisioned by geniuses behind the screen. Still, she was feeling mixed emotions as they exited Raven's purple cruiser. "I never expected to be on a daytrip movie land," she said, gathering her Ninja Kitty spangled purse that Raven had bought her. "I just wish it wasn't purely for business."
"Hey now," Raven said, straightening his red carnation on his suit of purple velvet. "When you're in a situation like this...ya gotta mix business with pleasure. If we just...'happen' to stumble upon a movie set for Astro Attorney 2: Lawyers In Space, while looking for evidence, it's not our fault!"
A hint of drool formed in the corner of Mina's mouth as she rubbed her hands together. "Or just happened to bump into mega hot mega star, Robert Gander and coincidentally ask him for an autograph that says, 'To my dream girl, Mina Hawkins' than it was a total accident!"
Raven winked at her as he slammed the door of his car. "And as attorneys, it's our job to handle accidents!"
"And what a happy accident that will be!" Mina gushed.

After showing their lawyers badges and day passes, the two attorneys entered the scene of the crime. Right outside the main entrance, there was an enormous ditch in the Star Road. Police and press members had gathered around it as police tape enforced its perimeter. The junked limo and the charred bodies had long been removed, but Mina remembered the night the explosion had engulfed Goode's limo in a horrible orange and red burst of flames.
But as a towering female officer with a swinging bob cut stomped over to them, Mina had other problems to deal with. "Oh lawd..." Mina muttered. "It's Chief O'Law!"
"Is it your catchphrase that sounds similar to my name, or vice versa?" The police chief said, scratching her head. "Either, I'm sorry, but this area is off limits!"
"Why?" Mina asked.
"Because..." Chief O'Law answered. "It's a crime scene, you birdbrains!"
"But..." Mina stammered. "We have day passes....I really wanted to see some movie magic...I mean, question some suspects."
Support creative writers by reading their stories on Royal Road, not stolen versions.
The chief crossed her arms. "I'm doing this for your own good, birdbrains, especially if SHE finds out you're here..."
"AHEM..." An irate female voice passive aggressively cleared the air.
There was a loud clicking of heels and Mina soon encountered someone she long wanted to meet, but would soon regret.
It was a woman in her mid twenties, but there was something peculiar about her fashion sense. Wearing an indigo pants suit, and a dirty blond short haircut, the woman looked like she was trying hard to look a lot older than she seemed. A pair of red frilly glasses balanced on her nose with dangling strings of pearls hanging off them.
"Egads," Raven squawked. "Aren't you a little young to be dressed like a middle aged librarian!"
The woman who was slightly older than Mina pointed her finger nail accusingly at Raven. "Aren't you a little MALE for questioning my taste in fashion.
Mina interjected quickly, "Please excuse my friend Raven's chauvinism. He's 'older generation' impaired!"
Raven shook his head. "I'm 12 years older than you, kid!"
But Mina nudged him silent. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Joy!" Mina said with a warm smile.
Both the police chief and Raven's mouths hung open, slack jawed. "You know her?!"
"Yes," Mina exclaimed. "She's Greta Goode's campaign manager! Joy Lester!"
"More like the 'Can I see your manager,'" Raven snarked before he was elbowed in the ribs again.
Joy Lester frowned. "I was the campaign manager...but not anymore!"
The young girl gritted her teeth. "I poured my entire college fund into this campaign. I was sure we were going to win and throw that fraud Monty Banks out of office...but he had to go and blow my plans and her to smithereens."
"I'm sorry to hear that," Mina said, her hands folded solemnly. "I was going to vote for Greta for the 'Goode' of all Business Park."
But Joy Lester ignored her, pacing frantically back and forth while tossing her hands dramatically. "I had invested so much effort into making Greta Goode young and hip! She was super appealing to the Business Park youth division because she knew what twerking and Hokey Mom Go was. It was I, Joy Lester who made that possible. Without me, she would be nothing but an old bag politician. I MADE HER GOODE AGAIN and that Monty Banks destroyed me...I mean her!"
Joy Lester was so red, she looked like she was about to have a cross between a conniption and an asthma attack. She closed her eyes and exhaled through her thin reedy nostrils.
"By the way," Joy asked, adjusting her glasses. "Who are you two?"
Raven, all smiles, grinned obliviously. "We're Monty Banks's lawyers and..."
Mina slapped her forehead as her careless mentor let a vulnerable detail like that slip out.
Joy Lester placed her hands on her hips. "There's only one way to deal with a trash heap like you!"
Without warning, Joy kicked Raven between the legs and he doubled over. "Youch!"
Joy leaned forward into Mina's face. "That's what you get for having the balls to defend such a slimebag. I will see you in court...and I'll decimate both of you!"
As she stormed off and Raven continued to writhe on the ground Chief Rita O'Law stood over him. "Now you know why this area was off limits...but you birdbrains had to meddle like you usually do!"
"For a manager," Mina remarked. "She's quite hard to manage herself."
