The courtroom was so quiet that the only thing anyone could hear was the quiet chewing of Miss Krepes biting into her slice of cake. Some of the men in the audience looked at her hungrily, anticipating the juicy and slightly racy story of how Todd seduced her. At last, she dusted her lip with her pink handkerchief and twirled her pointed nose in the air.

"My darling Todd met me at the Tour De France where he was DJ'ing that oh-so overrated French techno music. When he saw me in the zee audience, eet was like desire itself caught his eye."

Mina had to resist rolling her eyes because the story was no doubt embellished more than Mademoiselle Krepes was. "And that is saying a lot," the young attorney muttered, looking at the perfectly sculptured French nose on Monika's face.

"When he approached me," Krepes said, swooning ever so slightly. "I was more rosy than a pink cupcake and he told me, 'ow about you drop zat frog you are dating and get into a little voulez vous with a stud like me! I am 'ow you say, 'good in zee sack!''"

Monika sighed even if he cheeks were strangely free from any sort of blush. "I fell for him like an unneutered poodle on a mime's trousers!"

Justice Divine slammed her gavel. "Order! The French testimony is getting a little gratuitous, Miss Krepes!"

"Ah," Monika bowed. "My apologies. Gratuitious French is the only thing I speak!"

Mina finally gave into rolling her eyes. "Much like this whole arc!"

"Order!" the judge slammed her gavel again. "I will not permit fourth wall breaks in this courtroom. Now continue, Miss Krepes."

Monika continued to speak in her obnoxiously exaggerated mannerism. "Oh how eet was such a passionate affair. Todd Matinee offered to take me to see the Eiffel Tower and then offered for me to see his too! And I couldn't resist!"

Todd buried his head in his hands.

Monika smirked at his embarassment. "And then I took the tour de Todd after the tour de France. And let me just say, it was tres manifique! He may be a robot but he eez human where it counts!"

The judge looked ready to throw up, as did the ever greening Mina. For the first time, Monika read the room and changed the subject to something a bit more serious than her fictional lechery. She mimed bashfulness and shrieked loudly as she covered her face in her hand. "But eventually eet got too much! I may not look like eet but my conscience is bigger than the south side of Paris. And I could not continue to cheat on Christian like that! So I poured my broken heart into a letter, but...it did not reach him in time! In a fit of jealousy, Todd killed Christian over me!"

Silence followed, but people began to speculate after the brief quiet. Todd seemed to have two motives. His fall out with Christian over AI's dominance and a supposed affair with Christian's ex girlfriend. Monika has truly given them a gratuitious (and French) testimony, and Mina knew it would be hard to counter Ashley and Monika at the same time.

Mina closed her eyes and tapped her butterfly necklace. Truly there was some kind of connection she had missed deep within Monika's testimony and actual behavior.

And at last, it came to her.

"What do you say, Miss Hawkins?" Divine Justice demanded. "Surely your client is cornered at all angles. Perhaps he should plea guilty?"

Mina opened her eyes and shouted a loud "Connection!" In response.

Ashley chuckled and stuck her thumbs in the pockets of her emerald pantsuit. "Your client better have some good connections or else he's going to be spending an extremely long time in the slammer. Perhaps for life."

"No," Mina said, with a surprisingly confident veneer. "I have a connection that all of you seemed to miss. You see, I believe that Monika never had an affair with Todd and is trying to set him up!"

"Ow cannot you not believe me, you stupid American lawyer?" Monika pouted. "Would I really go so far as to lie in such detail about an affair zat shattered my heart!"

Mina nodded. "That's exactly what you did! And I have proof of that. Because..." Mina threw her arm out confidently in Monika's direction. "You put the letter in Todd's room after Christian died. And I have recorded proof!"

"No you don't," Monika shouted back. "That's not possible."

"Oh so sorry, Miss Flop-Tart!" Mina said. "I don't have recorded proof...but you do! You accidentally recorded yourself with your own webcam!"
