Chapter 109: Taking My Breath Away...Literally.

A loud voice broadcasted from the commentator's box of the massive Business Park Play Dome. Inside, a man in his mid forties with slick black hair and a large mouth gabled loudly at the microphone.

"Welcome sports fans to the event we've been waiting for all winter…the one, the only Duper Bowl Sunday! I am your host, Mike R. Phones and the most important part of the night is about to begin!"

Dressed in a rainbow of blazers and face paints, the fans around the stadium cheered.

Mike leaned forward, clutching his namesake and showcasing his 20 years of being in the business of announcing.

"10000 fans have gathered at the Business Park Play Dome ("all play and no business,") not to watch the game, but rather to witness a truly razzle dazzle meeting of the music monarchy!

"Two pop star legends," he exclaimed, "famed Prince Pretty, Dustin Himbolake and the Beautiful Princess of Pop, Whitney Stabs are uniting in a true supernova of stardom. Together, they will put on the greatest halftime show ever!"

The crowd went wild, so starstruck that they chanted their names louder than they even chanted for the football teams. The star studded event of the century was about to begin and no one could contain their excitement. No one but the stars themselves.

In his dressing room, a handsome, thirty five year old man reclined in his revolving leather seat with his legs and arms crossed. Contrary to the pale pigment of his skin, his hair was threaded in cornrows. He wore a dapper tux and a velvet purple cloak to signify royalty.

"Chives, darling," he yawns. "Where is my breath mint? After my performance with psycho wit-less Whitney, we will see which lucky lady is the winner of my Powerlips lottery."

Dustin Himbolake casually threw his hand forward. "And a prince's breath must not smell like the cheese and onions he had for lunch."

As Himbolake puckered his lips, a short man dressed in a blond pageboy's wig and a matching purple courier's outfit rolled his eyes and produced a "Take My Breath Away" mint and handed it to Himbolake.

The wannabe royal popped it in his mouth as Chives produced an enormous hand mirror seemingly out of nowhere.

Himbolake winked in his enormous looking glass. "Prince Charming is now ready to charm a lucky lady."

The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

"More like Prince Charm-less to his employees," Chives muttered beneath his breath.

Mina Hawkins stood cheering in ger front row seats she had been awarded from the Electra Company. Her hair rolled off her shoulders was filled with sparkles from all the confetti that was soared through the cold winter air.

Wrapped in a pink, fuzzy sweater that was much to thin for the weather, she hoped her adoring ex-prosecutor, William "Blind" Justice would wrap his arms around her like he often did.

"Finally," Mina exclaimed, her lips shining and smeared with pink lip gloss. "After watching a bunch of sweaty men touch each other for an hour and a half, we can witness a real spectacle!"

"That is?" the stoic Blind responded.

Mina's gloved hands pushed up against her cheeks as her eyes sparkled. "To see the Dreamboat Prince of Pretty, Dustin Himbolake!"

Blind sneered. "At least you get to see him."

"Oh my galoshes," Mina squeaked. "I'm so sorry."

"Gee," Blind chuckled. "We been together for a month and you still haven't realized that…quirk of mine."

Mina pressed herself against his toned body and popped her leg up. "I'm sorry," she pleaded, half playfully, half bashfully. "Can you forgive me?"

The always calm, former prosecutor wrapped her in a tight embrace. "You're lucky you're so soft and cuddle-able. Makes it very easy to forgive you."

He nuzzled her button nose and kissed. "Now let's listen to this corporate pop you seem to be into. Personally, modern classical is a superior art form, but I can appreciate some good popular music every now and then."

Mina grinned sheepishly and rubbed his back. "Oh Blind, you're so rigid in the best ways!"

Cheers promoted the couple to face the field. An enormous stage was emerging from the ground.

"And now…" Mike Phones declared to the stadium and the surrounding heavens. "The moment a majority of you were waiting for!"

The metallic stage had an enormous construct that formed a purple and pink castle full of neon lights that shines brightly on the stars. Athletic dancers in matching leotards twirled around the outside and bowed to hail the Pop Monarchy. Explosions of purple confetti shot out from all corners of the stage.

"Behold, the Princess and the Prince of Pop," the sports commentator shouted as all spotlights turned on the center stage.

A pop star arose from the shadows. Mina's heart thumped excitedly to the rhythm of a mid-2000s hip hop beat as Dustin Himbolake glistened in all his ambiguously camp glory.

Mina was happy Blind couldn't see her fawning over this popular boy band member she had loved since she was a child. Admittedly, there was no way she could have afforded the tickets to see him live until Maxine Electra had given her tickets to this E-Company sponsored event. Even if they had become embroiled with the DeFunkt scandal, it was easy for a company that big to brush aside a simple controversy it seemed.

Mina had almost forgotten her part in exposing the Electra Company because they had granted her front row seats to a mini Himbolake (and Stabs concert), but soon, her dreams of seeing a legend perform came crashing down.

Even though Dustin was standing tall and proud on stage, his lip princess was nowhere to be scene.

Suddenly, a stage hand rushed on stage. "Help Help!" the woman screamed. "Whitney isn't moving. I think she's been poisoned!"
