Chapter 63: Bombageddon Time!

"Willy!" Mina screamed from the back of the room. The once feisty prosecutor hung limp in the hands of the balilif.

"Please be okay!" she cried. He had now been poisoned by cobra venom and she had no idea how long he could last.

There was a total panic both in the Hall of Lawson and the MT IT Institution as the nefarious Charlotte O'Scara outed herself. "Y'all will pay with your life, prosecutor!" she hissed. "And so will this town! Y'all will meet a truly boombastic ending to this game y'all call law!"

With bloodshot eyes, and a pale faced sneer, Charlotte O'Scara whipped out a pumpkin embroidered fan from her pocket. "It's Bombageddon time, y'all!"

One of the police officers shouted, "Kill the cameras!" and the screen blacked out.

"Uh oh..." Ritchie muttered. "Do you think that's our cue?"

Raven whacked the comedian over the head. "Of course that's our cue, Mr. Funnybones. Plan A failed thanks to this scamp's meddling so now all we have left is Plan B-oom!"

"Plan...B-oom?!" Mina gasped.

"Yes indeed," Raven said solemnly. "Miss Charlotte ordered her platoon of Aura members to personally reduce the town to rubble with our enormous stockpile of Boomsday 3000s."

"Raven!" Mina cried out to her former mentor. "Are you really going to go through with it?"

"Yes..." Raven said sadly. "To get what is rightfully owed to me...I will have to reduce this town and you, my ex protege, to nothing but ashes."

"Raven!!!" Mina said, her face turning pink and nearly swelling up like a furious balloon. "What could possibly mean more than me to you?"

Raven was silent. "That is not for you to know. Ignorance is how you will go to the grave, my protege. It's better you don't know for your sake."

"Well..." Mina said, absolutely fuming. "You've already beaten me to the grave, Raven. Because you're dead to me!"

Raven winced for a second, before feigning a grin. "Good," he said. "Emotionally, that's how we should be from now on."

"When you bought me the Ninja Kitty stuff?" Mina demanded. "That was all a ruse."

"No," the birdlike man said, a wet tear rolling down his cheek. "I just let myself get too attached to you."

"Oy," Bunting shouted. "Enough waterworks, monseigneur! We need to make zee whole town go boom. I 'ave already messaged everyone to get zee trucks ready back outside. Zere will be lotsa surprise deliveries tonight!"

"Very well," Raven said, and he cocked his gun right at Mina. "You're coming with us, kid. I dunno if you called the fuzz, but we will be outta here before the travel cross town to us."

Mina folded her arms in deep prayer. Even when they were bound, she still hoped she could stall long enough before it happened. At last, she rose to her feet. "We're heading down to the cellar!" Raven said, a dire smirk curled beneath his beaklike nose.

Through the hallway and down the stairs at the end of the Institution, there was a flight that lead down to the basement. Mina made sure not to trip down the stairs with her hands tied. She truly had to hold out for as long as possible. When she reached the bottom, they made a left turn at the boiler room, and entered a room that truly amazed and disgusted her.

There were enough brick shaped mortar bombs to melt the whole city down. All were emblazoned with the colorful and deadly logo of Boomsday 3000.

"Who knew the demolition day was upon us?" Ritchie Lord asked. "I know the Aura made a bomb with their operations, but this is ridiculous."

"Business Park will soon be a kitchen zat eez 'otter than hell!" Bunting giggled.

"Otter than hell?!" Ritchie chuckled. "I didn't know small aquatic animals were more combustible than hellfire itself."

"Oieee!" Bunting shouted shoving the comedian. "You know vat I mean. We French are a bit phonetically challenged!"

"More like someone from Joisy," Ritchie snarked.

While the two clowns continued to fight, Mina was working using her manicured nails to slice through the cloth bind that Raven had tied around her arms. She didn't know what she could do, even unbound, but when she saw several rope fuses protruding out of the Boomsday bombs, she knew there was only one thing she could do. It was inevitable, but at least she could die a hero by saving the whole town from Bombageddon.

Several men in dark, bullet proof vests arrived in the basement. "Commander Archibald," the Aura soldier said. "The trucks are ready to be loaded. We are ready to carry out, Operation B-oom!"

Raven nodded. "Let's just get this over with. This is truly a fine mess I've gotten myself into it! Just grab those bombs and get outta my sight!"

"Not on my watch, Raven!" a familiar and quite goofy girl's voice said.

Without warning, the cloth tie fell to the floor. Having set herself free, Mina grinned boldly with her eyes bulging wildly. She pointed dramatically to her bare wrist. "Well, I don't have a watch. But much like the metaphor, I will defeat you! It's time to court myself a hot, steamy date with justice!"
