Bird Brains Lawyering Co, 8:00 PM, November 21st
It was closing time at the lawyering firm Mina had worked since she was eighteen, but as soon as Bird Brains closed, the true work began. Dressed in shadowy black sweatpants and a hoodie with her hair tied back in a ponytail, it set the mood for tonight. All that awaited was the toll of a bell and she'd be ready for action.
The door bell rang from downstairs and Mina stood up from her swivel-chair. Her very special and essential guests were now here for an operation that would change Business Park for the better.
Upon answering the door, Mina was greeted by her two besties. Trudy, bundled up in a round, puffy coat and a knit cap and spikey haired Winona, draped in a jet black with red font Area of Refuge hoodie and pale white makeup that makes her look like Elmira, Priestess of the Shadows.
Both were confused by Mina's getup, but greeted her all the same. "Mina," Trudy greeted her in her boisterous voice. "We haven't heard from you since the funeral. We were so concerned for you after Willy died."
Winona nodded. "Death is wonderful but not premature death. Everyone deserves to have their heart fail them at 97."
Mina winced, having been reminded of the death of her second boyfriend. The Montero case had mostly taken her mind off the untimely passing of Blind.
She nodded, grinning through the pain. "I'm okay. Just business as usual. Busy busy business! But uh, mind if you join me? I really need your help with something!"
Trudy and Winona both glanced at each other. Both had no idea what exactly they were getting themselves into. Both of them asked about it at once and Mina gave a cryptic answer.
"We are going to make Mission Impossible, Mission Possible!"

Mission Possible began in the lounge area when Mina laid out a Woogle Maps overhead printout in the Clearly Hills. It was a large manor designed for yuppies in the mid eighties.
"Ummm," Trudy muttered. "I may be a top Yowler, Mina, but I don't think I can afford us this swinging bachelorette pad!"
Winona nodded. "And my morgue job pays mostly in dead currency."
Mina shook her head. "We're not going to buy this house, sillies. We're gonna break into it! And save a man being held hostage against his will by a scheming black widow!"
Before Trudy or Winona could squeeze any stupefied words out of their throats, Mina explained about Raven's plight. How after he had seemingly died in the explosion of the MT Institute, he had been kidnapped by the Aura, brainwashed into being the mayor of Business Park for them, and worst of all, being tethered in a loveless marriage to a sinister Walkford wife named Devillia.
Together, Mina hoped that they would be able to liberate her mentor once and for all from the auras cast iron grip on his life!
Mina grinned, even with one of her eyes nervously twitching. "So what do you gals say about Operation Savin' Raven!"
Unfortunately, both of her friends looked like her neck had sprouted a second head. "Ummm...Mina," Trudy said nervously figeting. "Shouldn't we just go to the po-po about this? Can't that big scary mom chief do more than we could?"
Winona nodded. "I am a lawfully abiding goth. I don't even partake in grave robbing or blood rituals!"
Mina gazed at the fluffy carpet. She knew her plan was farfetched and her friends would be reluctant. Breaking into a high class manor was completely and utterly ridiculous.
She sighed. "I just don't want to lose anyone else. Raven had really come around but anytime that daughter of a witch snaps her fingers, he becomes her lap dog! Who knows what she plans to do with him. And the worst part is, he basically controls the whole city, even the cops."
Trudy and Winona looked at each other again. Tears had started to trickle from their best friends eyes. Indeed, she had lost Chad Hangten, William Justice and now Raven Lockwood. Somehow, Mina had a magnetic pull towards trauma, even as someone unbelievably chipper.
At last, the two of them spoke at once. "Ok, we'll do it."
Mina squealed excitedly. "You will?"
Trudy gave a round dimpled smile. "You are our besty after all."
The ever morbidly happy Winona added. "Besties until death. And then some!"
"Besties!" Mina exclaimed pulling them in for a big hug. "You are the besty!"
