Ashley's sneered as she observed the letter, the biggest piece of condemning evidence against Mina's client so far. The chief scratched her head as she read over Ashley's shoulders. "I didn't even know robots were capable of love...well I guess if they have the right parts."

Ashley turned around. She raised an eyebrow with a scowl. "Please tell me you majored in something other than Stupid, detective..."

Rita O'Law's face went from righteous anger to "I better protect my pension" calm.

"Phys Ed !" she said, raising a finger. "I don't know who that is, but I was pretty darn good at gym class."

"Clearly not in English," Ashley said, rolling her eyes before turning them to Mina and Blind. "Now as for you two lovebirds. I do mean to gloat when I say, not only do I have a letter detailing a sordid affair, but I have a picture perfect testimony from not one, but two different witnesses."

"Two?" Mina asked, her eyes bugging out. "Monika and...?"

"Like I'd tell my sworn rival anything!" Ashley growled like a lioness.

"Sworn rival...." Mina squeaked, turning to Blind. "But I hardly know her!"

"You know me, however..." Blind said, "Semi intimately...and that rubs this girl worse than an A minus on an exam."

"Incorrect!" Ashley hissed like a harsh school proctor. "Except for the minus part. But neither of you two minuses would get that."

Mina stomped over to her newfound rival and their eyes flared as they stared each other down. No other girl has angered Mina on this level since Victoria Electra, but she was a tame pussycat compared to the rage of a full grown lioness prosecutor!

"If we're minuses," Mina growled, puffing out her cheeks in an attempt to look scarier. "Than I'd like to SUBTRACT you from our lives!"

Rolling up the letter in her hand, Ashley turned her head to Chief O'Law. "Well, I have what I want. Come on chief, let's nix ourselves. Later, undergrads."

It was like a nuclear bomb went off behind Mina's eyes. "Good riddance and take your high brow college vocabulary with you!"

Mina stormed over to Blind, clasped onto him, puckered her thin lips and looked up at his blindfold, imagining a pair of beautiful and sympathetic brown eyes. "Now's the time you tell me how much better I am than that other girl!"

"You're better than Ashley," William said bluntly, causing Mina to wobble and fall out of his arms. "Oof! That's the best you can do, Willy?!"

"Sorry," Blind apologized. "I'm just a bit distracted by this other witness. Who is Ashley is talking about? Who could it be?"

Mina dusted herself off. "Someone who was also there when the explosion happened. Maybe Flannel Billions?!"

"I dunno," Blind remarked. "But with two witnesses and a gruesome love affair letter, you have a hard case ahead of you."

Mina's lips quivered. "Can I at least have cuddles?"

Blind scooped up his girlfriend and wrapped his arms around her. "That you can."

Mina prepared herself as she sheltered in his embrace. Not only would she have a tough trial...but she would have to confront Todd Matinee, on his dirty rotten, stinky lechery. She had no idea how he would react, but the frenchman had nowhere to run...

He was in jail after all!
