Mina stalked the streets of Business Park's central district. The wind blew strong in that cold dark November night and it whipped her face. She was missing her E-phone and wallet so she didn't know the hour, and even though she desperately needed help, she was too cagey to enter a store without being able to buy something.
It didn't help that most stores had already closed and the only thing left was sleazy and shady bars for late night California shenanigans.
Eventually, her emotions (and bladder) got the best of her and she dashed towards the nearest store. On the corner, there was a sign with a winking black cat logo that read in sensuous pink lettering, "Kitties Galore!"
"Oh good!" Mina said, wiping the sweat off her drenched brow. "At least this pet store is open!"
She was so relieved she wouldn't have to deal with patrons of the night or other shady types and she jogged through the antechamber into a flashy room that was clearly not selling the kind of cats she wanted.
"My lawd..." Mina stammered. "I think I made quite a blunder."
Not only was the dark room loaded with neon tabletops covered in mixed drinks, but every single person sitting at the table was a woman. To make matters even more confusing, quite a few of them were extremely buff and looked like they could bench press Mina with one hand.
"What kind of pet shop is this?!" Mina exclaimed.
A particularly tall and strong woman with a mohawk approached Mina and placed a muscular hand on her shoulder. "You can be my pet anyday!"
Mina started to shake and giggle nervously. This was no pet shop. This was a lesbian bar.
The woman, who had to be seven feet tall wiggled her eyebrows at Mina who realized she had nowhere to run. Perhaps if she played dead they'd call an ambulance for her instead.

But before she could pretend to faint and gyrate on the floor, another voice called out, this one way more familiar and inviting. (If equally tough and boisterous.)
Mina turned around and she grinned happily. "STAR! OH THANK MY LUCKY STARS!"
Clad in her famous neon green, intergalactic superheroes outfit with a toned midriff was Star Skye. She brushed back her golden blonde pompadour and winked at Mina. Now Mina felt like she was going to faint from being starstruck rather than fear. She had been saved by one of her favorite clients and movie actresses.
Without warning, Star spanked Mina on the rear and glared at her opposition. "Next time you come between me and my kitty, Dolores, I'll have you tasting this filthy floor!"
Dolores, the towering lesbian held up her hands and muttered, "Whoa take it easy, man!"
"That's right!" Star said, her hands proudly held on her hips. "Man is right! I am THE MAN!"
Dolores wandered back into the depths of the bar, leaving Star to speak with her 'kitty.'
"Told ya," Star said, punching Mina in the ribs. "Told ya it took a bit for pretty pretty makeup girls like you to come around! Welcome to the team, babe!"
Mina turned bright red, squeaking her words out like a frightened mouse. "Star! No no no! That's not why I'm here! I swear!"
Star chuckled. "Of course you are! Why else would you come here?"
Mina filled her ex-client in on all the dreadful things that had happened that night. Everything from her and her friends breaking and entering into the Ebony abode to Devillia kidnapping her friends and getting ready to crush her in the court case of the century. She expected Star's eyes to get wider and wider, but instead, she kept them half lidded.
"I love your guts, pinky!" Star said at last. "You've probably seen more than half the girls in here! And yet you keep on fighting the good fight!"
Mina wanted to hug Star and cry into her shoulder, but she didn't want to give the flamboyant actress (and chad-ess) the wrong impression. Instead, she smiled through tears.
Star immediately grabbed Mina instead and pulled her into a strong hug. "You saved my career, babe, so I'm gonna do anything in my power to help you and..."
But before Star could finish the sentence, an announcement filled echoed in the room. Spot lights all centered on a run way with a microphone. Several patrons of the bar gathered around as a gruff female voice announced the entertainment for the night.
"Performing tonight, the famed jungle beast, the queen of the savanna, the one, the only, Lioness!"
Spot lights focused on a shapely figure. The figure of a girl Mina swore she'd never see again. She rubbed her eyes in disbelief. "No...it couldn't be...could it?!"
