Chapter 122: Clothes Lined by a Blind Man

Chapter 122: Clothes Lined by a Blind Man

Mina took a running start and nearly fell flat on her face. She looked down and remembered her movement restricting footwear. "Better remove these before I go head over heels for anyone other than Willy!"

She remarked and removed the pink heels, preparing to run in leggings. She couldn't let her one lead get away. She was not only a prime suspect, but also the only suspect other than Dustin himself.

She tore down the corridors, hustling after the fleeing manager. She heard footsteps echoing in the hall and Mina realized that Ms. Cilan had come prepared.

She was wearing flats!

Mina could only follow her ears as she had no other way to navigate this enormous football stadium. At the end of the hall, she heard a door creak open loudly.

"There she is!" Mina cried as she made a mad dash for it.

She ran inside and found the mana-jerk huffing and panting inside her own dressing room. Not surprisingly, there were rows upon rows of dark blazers and black sunglasses on mannequins heads, making the room look more like a dressing room for an FBI agent.

"Ms. Cilan!" Mina exclaimed.

"What?!" the young woman said, sweating behind her sunglasses

"If I was a secretary," Mina said, flicking a finger gun. "I'd pencil you in for a major suspect!"

A grimace displayed Penny Cilan's Gollywood white teeth. "A suspect? Why would you say I'm a suspect!"

If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.

"Because you ran away from the scene of the crime. That alone is highly and unbelievably sus-p-icious!"

Suddenly, Ms. Cilan looked back and forth and summoned a more confident pose. "But how alone does that spell my guilt? Being the manager of one of the biggest heart-throbs in Music, there's a lot of places I need to be and people I need to see! I could have simply been late for another appointment!"

"Because..." a nerdy little voice announced. "The murder weapon has your fingerprints on it!"

Mina and Penny turned aside to find Sparky Electra standing in the doorway, his hands on the sides of his sparky pants. Mina rolled her eyes and smiled, even with such a confident pose, he still looked like a bony weak boy in his father's (or mother's in this case) clothes. But nonetheless, she was glad he was here.

"Whuh-wha?!" Cilan said, her jaw dropped.

"You heard me!" Sparky said, thrusting his fingers . "And for once I didn't stutter. The 'Take My Breath Away' mints have your fingerprints on them!"

Penny Cilan flinched so hard, that her glasses fell off and cracked on the floor, revealing a pair of hurt lime-green eyes. "I can't believe this!" she cried. "He set me up!"

Sparky gave a wimpy little chuckle. "Tell that to the judge, jury, executioner and yo mama!"

"Yo mama?" Mina and Cilan said, both with half lidded eyes.

"Hehe," Sparky giggled. "I thought it sounded better in my head and just..."

Without warning, Penny Cilan shoved Mina into Sparky, knocking both of them over and running out of the room. Sparky lay on the floor, clearly more dazed than Mina was. "Oh no," she muttered, shaking her head. "The mana-jerk is gonna get away!"

But outside, there was a loud oof. Mina leapt to her feet and found Blind standing outside, a hand raised and Ms. Cilan, laying stunned on the ground.

"Willy!" Mina swooned.

"Uhhhhhghhh..." the manager moaned. "I just got clothes lined by a blind man!"

Blind offered up a rare chuckle. "Its ironic advice from a blind man, Penny Cilan, but you really should have looked where you were going!"

Mina was so ecstatic she couldn't contain her happiness. "You're the best, Willy!" she said and swept him up in a warm embrace.

Thanks to him, she had caught suspect Numero Uno...but what was that she had said about being set up by someone?
