This was the first time Mina had been in the chiefs office, and she was very surprised it wasn't a torture chamber or a glorified weight lifting center.
Instead, there was a wooden desk made of pinewood and metal, a modified E-Top computer, a small round picture of an adorable little girl with a strong face, dark skin and bushy hair. In fact, Mina was surprised how normal the office seemed except for the carton of raw eggs sitting on the desk next to a glass. As soon as the chief sat down at the desk, she cracked an egg over the counter and emptied the yolk into the glass. She slurped it loudly.
"Of course," Mina remarked, still annoyed from being pulled away from Dustin Himbolake to see a muscular middle aged woman suck an egg. "Things can't be too normal in here!"
"Just need a bit of protein to get the ol' mind turning!" Chief O'Law remarked.
Mina's stomach was churning from seeing someone eat a raw egg. "You're lucky you're blind!" Mina remarked to her boyfriend standing over her.
Happy to be," the prosecutor said. "And a handsome devil at that."
Mina wrinkled her nose. That was oddly vain of him to say. But hey, confidence was attractive.
"Okay…" the chief said, having finished slurping her egg. "I have a strong theory that despite having a snazzy mustache…the mayor is indeed our Raven."
"That's what we've all figured, chief," Mina said. "Ivor Ebony is simply Raven Lockwood with a facial hair upgrade. But any time anyone approached him, he has denied that's who he is…"
"And used that stache as a citation…" Blind remarked.
The chief shook her head, shuffling her brunette-mom-bob. "Now I dunno what a citation is…but I saw something that proved to be he was my…bird brain."

Much to Mina's surprise, she reached out towards the photograph of the adorable child and grabbed it.
"Who in the flying huh…is that?" Mina asked but soon, it became clear as a new day to her. The lockjawed face and the tan skin and bushy hair was a combination of chromosomes that Mina had never imagined.
"Is that your…eeeeee!" Mina screamed.
"What's going on," Blind exclaimed, alarmed. "Did you just get bitten by a scorpion, love?!"
"No…" Mina said, "but it's equally shocking! Raven and Chief O'Law had a baby together! And somehow nobody has told me!"
"Now I'm really lucky I'm blind," her sarcastic boyfriend answered.
The chief gazed away from Blind, looking strangely bashful, but Mina moved her hand over hers. "No, it's sweet. I just wish one of you told me."
Suddenly, there was a pang of curiosity and even fear from Mina. "But umm…where is she?"
The chief placed her photo back on the desk, facedown. Mina held her fingers to her face. "Oh noes… is she…dea…"
"No," the chief answered. "Nobody knows where she is. Not me…not the bird brain. Not anyone. But when I showed the mayor this photo…he sort of…turned whiter than a canary's belly and ran as fast as he could."
Mina pursed lips. "O-M-G. That is very weird. And majorly sus. If he wasn't Raven why would he react that way?"
The chief leaned back in his spinning chair. "I don't know. All I know is this is something fishier than the raw fish I have in the icebox over there. And I wish somebody had an explanation for what happened…"
There was a polite knock at the door, and the chief and his visitors turned their heads. Standing in the doorway was a beautiful woman with dirty blonde hair, a pale blue sundress and ultra smooth face in spite of looking like she was in her forties. "Hellooooo," she sang. "Did somebody ask for an explanation?"
Blind shook his head. "Why is there a Wizney princess in the room now?"
The woman bobbed her head kindly. "I'm no Wizney Princess, silly billy. I'm sorry, I should have introduced myself. I'm Ivor's wife, Harmony. He's my hubby bubby!"
The woman bounced inside with her sing- song demeanor. Everyone merely sat dumbfounded with their jaws hanging open. Mina was the most baffled of all. Who was this chipper woman and why was she married to her mentor Raven?
