Chapter 224: Yet Another Penthouse Sleepover

Chapter 224: Yet Another Penthouse Sleepover

Star cruised the town in her Millennium Convertible, a silver car shaped like a roofless rocket.

It looked very cool, but it kinda defeated the purpose of having a spaceship themed car. Normally, she'd point that out in a quirky manner, but Mina had bigger things on her mind. Her friends were kidnapped, she had no entry to her own apartment and to top it all off, she was about to get sued to smithereens.

The radio clock in the dashboard read, 23:24 in space military time, and she was ready to pass out, but the sheer adrenaline kept her on edge.

As they sped up hills to uptown Business Park, Mina didn't even care Star was gunning it at 75 mph and practically leaping up the slopes like they were ramps. But when they swerved, narrowly avoiding a fork in the road, Mina asked her actress friend a very important question.

"Why the lawdy lawd do you drive like this is an ASCAR race?! You know there's nobody on this street!"

Star continued to gun it. "Are you telling me I have an ass car?! Don't you see babe, it gets a million miles per gallon! I'm just showing off her prowess!"

Mina face palmed. She forgot. For Star, everything was a flex.

"Lawd...at least this will kill me before I get decimated in court....and prison!"

Star chuckled. "Prison ain't so bad. I once did time for owning these guns!"

She took her hands off the wheel to kiss her tanned muscles. And Mina prayed to the great Dog or God for this night to end.

Fortunately for her, Star pulled into the parking lot of another unusual but very aesthetically fitting building.

It was a very skinny silver tower, but at the top was a tall dome in the shape of a UFO with several massive circular windows.

"Behold!" Star exclaimed. "My bachelorette pad is outta this world!"

The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

Mina recognized it as the UF-Dome, a popular sci-fi apartment for the casts of space operas, intergalactic epics and planet documentaries. It was also home to the largest Star Voyage conventions and probably smelled a lot like space dust and BO.

"You're in luck, babelien," Star grinned. "I live at the very top!"

Normally, Mina would be starstruck (pun intended) but unfortunately, another penthouse reminded her too much of her time with Blind. As she gazed up at the penthouse in the stars, she blew out a sigh.

"That's nice," she said.

The lobby was shaped like the bridge of a massive space cruiser with a bunch of bright telescreens, concierges dressed in colorful Star Voyager shirts (none wore red for some reason) and teleporters that didn't seem scientifically advanced enough to work.

They stepped into ship's bridge elevator, resembling a white capsule and Star smirked. "Normally the intergalactic doorman, Scott is here" she said. "And we say, beam me up, Scott!"

Mina managed a weak smile. Normally, this would all be wonderous. Like staying in Wizneyland's now defunct Space Wars Hotel, but she was so worried about her friends that she was lost in her own mind.

Star pressed the button for the 2000th floor.

She grinned broadly and leaned on the elevator door. "Where you're going is my inner sanctum. And usually, an exclusive place where I take my lady for the night. But I'll make an exception since this is an emergency."

Mina nodded softly, her eyes lost and stormy.

The meat headed Star finally managed to read the room...or the elevator. "Pinkie, you're making me so sad. I've never seen someone so perky suck the air out of the room like a black hole."

Mina merely sniffed, and before she knew it, she had a pair of strong arms pulling her close. Star was a bit muscley, but it is as fine. It reminded her of Blind's toned body.

"I just want Trudy and Winona to be alright!" Mina sobbed. "It's my fault they aren't with me tonight."

Star hugged her tight. "Look. You may not have your normal team, but me and Kitty Galore are gonna make sure that devil wife coughs up your girls."

"But Kitty..." Mina said before catching herself. "But Ashley hates me!"

"Listen," Star said. "Kitty went through some major soul searching and I think that being a performer at Kitties really opened her heart! You have to believe me on this one!"

Mina thought back to all Ashley had put her...and Blind through. It was too much to fathom, but now she was left but nothing the unfathomable. "Do you really think so?"

Star grinned at her and made another muscle. "Just make a wish on the lucky star darling. And that's me. I get lucky every night."

Mina giggled through her tears. Star was so cringy sometimes, but she was indeed a lucky star. Before the elevator dinged at the top floor, she made her wish that everything would work out for the best.
