With her golden tan and radiant clothing, Sunny Storms could truly bring sunshine on a cloudy day. But could she illuminate the culprit of this shady case? Mina wasn't so sure.
And there was one other nagging thing that stuck in Mina's craw
"Objection!" Mina exclaimed, pointing at the weather girl.
All eyes turned to Mina. "Are we really going to be playing 'Musical Witnesses' here?! Tim Justin was actually there, not Miss Sunshine here."
"Correction!" Sev shouted, a smirk look on his sniveling face. "That witness was not qualified to talk about the weather. He's a reporter, not a meteorologist. Therefore, he called on someone who could tell 'whether' or not this was actually lightning."
Mina looked helplessly at the judge who was simply befuddled.
The stern judge nodded. "Yes. I see the point here. Normally I don't allow such tomfoolery in this court, but Mr. Silvermen makes a good case. Ms. Storms, care to give us your weather report?"
Mina twirled her finger around her ear and whispered. "This is truly cuckoo court today."
Sunny Storms twirled her umbrella and sneered at Mina. "There's a 99.9% chance of you being wrong, Miss Prosecutor. And a 0.01% chance of the sun shining on your cloudy theory."
Mina rolled her eyes. "The oddest thing about you is your odds. Care to let us know why your predictions are correct?"
Sunny cast her umbrella to an overhead monitor. "Perhaps you didn't watch my forecast earlier that day, puddles?"
The monitor switched on, showcasing the weather report the day of Louse's electrocution. Ear Hearing News cut away to Ms. Storms, posing away in yet another tiny sun covered bikini.
Sunny giggled. "This is Sunny Storms, Cali-girl, pin-up girl and weather-girl all rolled into one, here with your local forecast."

She spun the umbrella hypnotically at the cameras. "Whether the weather is good or bad, you'll hear it here first!"
She pointed directly at Business Park on her map. An enormous cloud traveled over it.
"Better batten down your windows, doors, hatches and boyfriends, there's a lightning storm-a blowin' tonight with a hundred and one percent chance of your parties, festival, gatherings and late night skinny dipping being rained out."
She rubbed her eyes dramatically. "Boo-hoo-hoo!" she fake cried. "Sorry to rain on your parade."
With a fake grin, her face perked up easily and said, "Now a word from our sponsor!"
Sunny paused the monitor. "Sorry to rain on your parade indeed, puddles," she sneered. "But with our new accu-weather systems, we are never wrong."
Mina swallowed hard. She couldn't dispute the fact that it was a proverbial dark and stormy night when the electrocution happened. With her forecast, Sunny Storms managed to open the sky and cast a downpour on her theory, but something didn't sit right.
Severus crossed his arms and threw a finger forward. "You can't dispute this, Not-Ashley. You live in Business Park, you know what the weather was and you know that Ms. Storms was completely right. I don't always trust forecasts, but they've gotten a lot better with advancing technology."
Suddenly, Mina's eyes shot open.
"Advancing technology…like…"
Mina smirked. "I agree. The weather was 100% correct. But there is also a 100% chance that Miss Storms is covering something up. Something so glaring, it would blind you like the sun."
Sunny Storms bit her lip and shielded herself with her umbrella.
"Like," Mina said with newfound confidence. "Who their sponsor is! Care to unpause the recording?"
Sunny was quieter than the sun itself, but Divine whacked her gavel. "Ms. Storms, please unpause this video. I'd like to see if my own predictions are correct."
"Brrr…" Sunny growled while shivering. "Suddenly, it's really cold in here. I didn't predict a freak snow storm from a freak like you!"
"Maybe wear something more than a bikini in an air-conditioned building?!" Mina asked. "Now kindly unpause it. This forecast is getting more sus by the moment!"
Shielding her face with the umbrella, Sunny unpaused the screen and Mina's suspicions were confirmed.
A gaudy lightning bolt insignia formed on the screen with a high heel. Sunny's exuberant voice broadcasted the advert. "Our pinpoint accu-weather systems are from the Electra Company. Plug us in and feel the jolt!"
For the first time, Maxine looked furious. There seemed an ardent desire to cast lightning from her eyes and incinerate the hapless weather girl.
Mina winked. "Sometimes it's good to go with the 0.01% prediction, Sunny!"
