Volume 6.5 Chapter 81: A Rabid Animal
"Let me get this straight; when you arrived here, you talked with the dragon bees. In return for helping them out, you would get honey?" Scarlet grabbed her head as she started to recount what occurred.
She was prepared to fire off her magic at the dragon bee. However, she was stopped by Keith as he got between them.
"Essentially." Keith nodded.
"..." Scarlet's mind was a whirlwind of thoughts, and she desperately needed some time to process all of it. Her head felt like it was about to burst, and the weight of it all was like a giant boulder dumped on her shoulders.
"Bzzz." While Scarlet had a mental breakdown, the dragon bee started nudging Keith's face. That caused him to laugh, "Aww, do you want some sugar?" From his storage came sugar. When the dragon bee saw that, its wings started to flap even faster.
"Let me mix it with water." Mixing the two together made sugar water. With that, the dragon bee started to sip on it.
"...Is that the sugar I heard so much about?" Scarlet had heard about the new seasoning created in the human kingdom. Sugar was something the other races had never expected.
"Mmhmm. Want to try some?" Keith summoned some cookies, "This is a baked good using sugar."
"Delicious." Scarlet smiled. However, her expression changed, "But you don't need to go now." Since Keith only came here for her, there was no need to do this.
"Of course, I'm going to help out! It's asking me for help, why wouldn't I!"
"Then why are you drooling?" Scarlet noticed something odd. Drool coming down his lips. Drool dripped from the side of his lip; he looked more like a rabid animal.
Keith grinned, "That's because I found something new." The entire objective was to help Scarlet. However, it has changed now. His focus was solely on the honey.
If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.
From what he could tell, the honey was incredible!
"..." Scarlet stared. His eyes looked so playful and kind at the same time. A smile cracked on her face.
"You should return to the city," Keith suggested. Things might get dangerous if she stayed here. But that only caused her to shake her head, "If you're staying, then I'm doing the same." She couldn't leave him here, not after hearing all of that.
It would be a shame.
"Alright. But you have to stay close to me at all times," Keith explained, and the girl nodded.
"What are we supposed to do?" "What we're going to do is take out the hornets."
"Hornets?"
"Yep, yep. We're going to deal with hunter hornets."
Hunter hornets. Hearing the name was enough for Scarlet to know. The hunter hornets were the nemesis of the dragon bees. Like the bees, they were also A-rank.
"There's a huge swarm of hornets close to the dragon beehive. Because of this, the dragon bees were having trouble collecting pollen." Keith sighed, "We'll have to thin them out."
"Thin them out?"
"Mmhmm! We're going to force them away from the dragon bee." Keith pumped his fist into the air.
"Okay." Keith turned to the bee, "Can you lead the way?" The dragon bee was a guide and helper in this situation.
"BZZZ," they head over to the hornet's nest like that.
"How many are there?!" Scarlet was astounded by the large number of hornets floating around.
"They aren't that tough. We only need to watch out for their absurd numbers." Hunter Hornets weren't that strong. If you have to estimate it, they would be low B-rank in terms of combat. It was similar to the dragon bees. What made them so high in rank was because of the absurd number they had. If you plan to face one, you must face 10 more in the process. It was too much for a regular adventurer.
"What do you want to do?" Scarlet questioned. Keith was the leader of this trio. His expression was calm as well.
"The first thing we must do is lure all those hornets out of their home." No way could they drive them out if all these hornets stay here.
"How are we supposed to move all of that?" Scarlet frowned. The number in front of them was absurd. If they need to get them away, they would need much of everything just to move them!
Keith shook his head, "I have a way to deal with this." He had checked up on them; that was why he was making his move now.
"What is this?!" Scarlet covered her nose as she stared at the thing the guy brought out. It was so stinky that it caused her to scrunch up.
"Some things I bought." Keith couldn't handle it as well. He turned to the bird, "Aria."
"Hoo!" The owl nodded as she quickly grabbed the small bag and flew around the hornet's nest. When she did, the hornets were instantly attracted by the smell! Aria flew away as the hornets continued to chase after her.
