Volume 6 Chapter 39: Accusation

"Alright! We can leave now!" Seeing Carolyn and Alfia were back in action, Keith smiled and touched the orb. The entire group disappeared and appeared at the front of the dungeon.

"I'm going to get us a carriage." Keith walked over to a bunch of carriages. This was a staple for most dungeons. They were checkpoints; that way, parties could pay and get home faster.

"What's the matter, buddy?" Herrick noticed the annoyed look Melor had.

"Can't believe we couldn't find any treasures." Melor sighed.

"What do you expect? It's a dungeon that has been explored." Alfia groaned. She may not show it. But she wanted some treasure as well. The boss floor didn't offer any treasures. It was a one-time thing.

"We should go to an unexplored one next time," Melor suggested.

"Do that, and we have a higher chance of dying." Herrick retorted. Did he forget about that? The dungeon they explored was mapped out, giving other adventurers an advantage. Going into a dungeon cold turkey would be an issue.

"..."

"What?"

Everyone turned their heads at him when he said that. Alfia was the first to speak, "It's surprising those words are coming out of your mouth." She was not the only one who thought he would agree with Melor.

"Hey, I know when to hold back and not to." Herrick scoffed.

This was true. Herrick had been tackling everything with a clearer head. There were some problems still. However, compared to the beginning, it was a leap.

"Guys! I got our carriage! Come on!" Keith waved. The group entered the carriage and returned to the city.

"Gabriel, how is your magic sword?" Keith asked. While the two girls chanted, Gabriel used his magic sword left and right.

"It's chipped." Gabriel raised the sword in the air. The red blade has a slight chip on the side.

Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.

"That's the downside of using magic swords." Gabriel sighed. A magic sword was incredible, but there were drawbacks. The durability of the sword was one of them. After a couple of uses, it would break.

"Can Mr.Dalen fix something like that?"

"I think so. He is one of the best blacksmiths in the city." Keith smiled. But another deep sigh came out of Gabriel's mouth,

"Just the thought of paying for repair is scary."

"There, there." Keith patted his shoulders. He understood why. Prices of magic swords were absurd. Fixing one would probably be the same!

"Keith, we need a shower when we return." Sniffing herself, Carolyn could only smell sweat all over.

"...Yeah." The other girls were the same.

"Don't worry. After we bring all these stones to Madison, we can return home." Keith chuckled. He smelled as well. It took a few minutes before the group arrived in front of the city. They greeted the guards as they headed for the adventurer's guild.

When they entered the guild hall,

"That's bullshit!"

Dennis?! Everyone could hear someone roaring. And Keith knew from the voice. He looked over to see Nina and his party members holding him back.

Madison and Groa were also by his side. Their expression showed how furious they were.

"What's going on?" Keith questioned. And when he did, everyone looked at his group.

"It's them." One adventurer murmured.

"Why's everyone treating us like the plague?" Jack looked around. It wasn't only him. Everyone noticed something off with the atmosphere. They treated them with hostility and caution.

"Keith, you're back!" Madison's expression brightened.

"Mmhmm! What's the problem?" Keith glanced around.

"You see."

"It's you guys!" Herrick roared as he spotted a couple of adventurers! Alfia and the other's expressions changed as well! These people were none other than the ones who tried to screw them over!

"I've been meaning to crush you guys!" Herrick cracked his knuckles. He was ready to rumble. And he wasn't the only one who did this; Jack and Melor were also prepared to jump in.

"You guys gave us a lot of trouble."

"We'll definitely pay you guys back."

"See! Everyone! These guys want to silence us! They shouldn't be in the guild!" The adventurer screamed.

"Mork! Watch your mouth!" Groa glared at the adventurers.

"But they want to kill us!"

"Don't you see them?!"

"Oh, we'll kill you after all the trouble you caused us." Herrick was ready! He was definitely going to throw this guy coast to coast. But Gabriel stepped in front of him.

"Gabriel, are you really going to stop us after all the trouble these guys have caused us?"

"We can clean them up later. Figure out the situation first." For sure, Gabriel wanted nothing more than revenge. However, the situation seemed way too odd. They must have done something.
