Volume 5 Chapter 13: The Opposite

"Eh? Why are you acting like this, Nephele? Mir is a cute animal." Sarah tilted her head as she stared at Mir. The latter made a goofy expression.

"Don't you guys understand he's a- Mgahh!" Before Nephele could say anything else, Diana smacked her in the head.

"..." No one said a thing as they stared at her with wide eyes.

"You guys don't need to worry about her. She's having one of her fits again." Diana smiled.

"Ah." The other students understand. It was expected to hear Nephele go crazy from time to time. That was a common occurrence.

"Big sister!" Nephele wanted to say something, but the glare from Diana shut her up.

"Sniff!" Nephele wanted to cry again! Why is big sister so mean?!

Like that, everyone sat down and started to eat their breakfast. But Nephele was super worried about Mir. She kept fidgeting around, trying her best not to stare at him.

"We're going now. Mir, remember to be safe." Keith patted the little snowball on the face.

"Po!" Mir licked Keith's face as they headed off. And when they head off,

"Mir, let's go play!" Fira suggested.

"Po!" Mir was in agreement as he quickly dashed off with the little spirit. Once the two had left for the garden,

"Okay, do I have to say it?! Why is such a dangerous creature staying here?!" Nephele looked at the adults in the room. She never thought something so dangerous would be living here! It was still a child, but it was more than deadly!

"Yeah, Keith tamed it." Cadmus casually answered.

"He tamed the adult as well."

"...." How are you guys so casual about it?! Diana and the three were so calm about it. It was too weird.

"Isn't Keith a national threat?" With so much power, he could probably take anyone out.

"And that's the point. Keith doesn't have the will to do something like that." That was a relief.

"True." Nephele thought about it. Keith is really calm and aloof about everything.

"Is it really fine not to tell anyone?" It seemed only a select few knew about Mir's identity.

"His father knows about it, and the king too," Sohma added.

"There's really nothing to worry about."

...

What is the matter with him? While Keith continued to listen to the lecture, he felt something piercing his back. And it was not like a sword was stuck to it.

Someone was glaring at him like no tomorrow! Keith sighed. What is wrong with Herrick?

Herrick had been weirding him out today. He tried his best to focus on class. But as he did, the others noticed it as well.

Is he going through a phase? Keith shook his head. But then came time for Tennol's class.

"Today, we're going to be practicing with weapons. Please choose one from the rack." Keith chose a sword.

Eh? You're going to use a long sword as well? Keith turned and noticed Herrick with one. It was the same one as Keith's. Herrick usually used a two-handed weapon.

"Okay, what are you doing?" Keith was direct as he asked. He was baffled as to why Herrick was doing all of this.

"To get stronger."

"Eh?" How is that making you stronger?

"If I can copy you, I can get stronger," Herrick stated.

"..." Keith took a deep breath before a long sigh came out. He stated, "Herrick, that's not how you can get stronger."

"Eh?"

"You're making yourself worse," Keith said nothing else as he walked away from him. But that caused Herrick to be even more dazed. What does he mean?

...

At the end of the day, Keith shook his head as he headed to Cadmus's office. When he entered the office, the faculty members smiled, "Student Keith. The principal is in his office. You can go in."

"Understood." It was the usual. Keith had been coming here for quite some time. They got used to the person here.

Keith entered the office, "Grandpa Cadmus, we need to have a little talk."

"Eh?!" Cadmus was sipping on some tea. He was on break.

"Seriously?! Why do you let him come in!" Cadmus stared at the faculty outside! But the faculty backed away. Do you want us to die?! Keith was a walking hazard. There was no way they could deal with someone like that!

The other reason was that Keith already had a reputation as a destroyer. They didn't want to mess with a guy like that!

"Tch!" Cadmus wondered whether or not to put a magic lock on this.

"Anyways, we need to have a talk."
