Volume 6 Chapter 24: He’s As Strong As Cadmus

Someone had cut into their conversation. Keith and the others looked up to see a gentleman. He had a calm look as he walked down from the second floor. Madison greeted,

"Mr. Kaiser."

"Mmhmm," Kaiser waved his hand as he stared at Keith and the others, "There aren't any high-level adventurers right now. How about I test you all?"

"If that is fine with you, thank you." Keith smiled. But that caused Madison to groan; things were going to get hectic. And she was right. The group was brought to the training ground.

"Who's going to be the first one?" Kaiser questioned. He picked up a wooden sword and started to swing around.

"I will!" Herrick raised his hand. He grabbed a heavy sword from the rack.

"We can begin." Kaiser gestured. Like that, the two of them started. Kaiser stood still with his sword up. It was a light and calm stance.

"Why aren't you moving?!" Melor shouted. Kaiser was standing still, but he didn't mind him: Herrick was the one he was concerned with. He stood still. Herrick would charge most of the time, not letting the other person have time to think of his moves.

This was an odd action for the beastman.

Do you think I don't want to? Herrick frowned. That was the first thing he planned to do. However, his body tensed up. No openings. Everywhere he looked, he couldn't find a place where he could attack. What made it worse was how he knew if he charged in, he would be counterattacked!

"Wise move, youngster." Kaiser smiled as he watched Herrick. He continued to be calm. Herrick shifted his legs, trying his best to find an opening.

"Hmpf!" Herrick swung his sword fast, trying to blow through! One concentrated explosive blow. He couldn't wave his sword like a madman. It gave him too many openings.

However, the unexpected happened! Kaiser smacked him in the head!

"You have a lot of power. But it isn't the only thing. You need to be more creative."

"What did he do?" Jack blinked. It was too fast for him to see.

"He redirected Herrick's attack upward," Gabriel explained. Faelyn and Keith nodded.

"But it's Herrick. How could he do that?!" Herrick's attacks were not a joke. Even Keith would have to dodge it.

"He did it so effortlessly," Keith commented. Kaiser used as little movements as possible to move Herrick's blow upwards with his sword. Herrick walked back with a dejected look.

"Who is the next one?"

"I'm up!" Melor got up.

This guy isn't like Groa. One look and Keith could tell this person was one of the strongest he'd seen. His movements were efficient and without equal.

Melor charged in like a madman and tried to take him out. But that left him with a lot of openings. He was sent flying!

"You guys don't need to hold back against him." Keith looked at the rest.

"Hmm?"

"This guy is a lot tougher than all of you. He might be on Grandpa Cadmus's level." That was the feeling he got.

"!" What?! He's on the principal's level?

"Then I will go all out from the start." Faelyn was up next as she raised her spear. If Keith said he was that strong, she couldn't hold back. She quickly circled around Kaiser.

The two couldn't do anything to him. And Faelyn understood why. Facing against him now, there were no openings from all sides.

"Sometimes charging at your opponent is a good choice. But there's no need to do that." It was the same with the two. However, there was something different Faelyn had compared to the two.

"Oh, you fired magic as well." Earth spears flew at him from the side. While she circled him, she was chanting as well.

"Hmpf!" Faelyn jumped into the air, ready to come down on the person.

"She got him," Alfia's expression brightened.

"No." But Keith shook his head.

"That was a good idea." "Eh?" Faelyn's eyes widened as she saw what happened. Her spear didn't land. Kaiser blocked it with his sword.

When did he do it? Kaiser took out all the earth spears and blocked her spear simultaneously.

"You lost." Faelyn had to accept this as she placed her spear down.

"Next person."
