Volume 5 Chapter 84: It Was A Slip, Nothing More
Keith quickly closed down the cart as he rushed over to the nurse's office. His brain couldn't process what he just heard. When he entered the office, what he saw surprised him. In the bed was Herrick.
He was bruised beyond belief!
"Hello, Keith." Noticing the two at the door, Herrick waved his hand. Well, tried to. His arm was wrapped up in bandages.
"What happened to you?!" Keith was in disbelief. How could Herrick be defeated like this?! It was too abnormal. That guy could take on a tank and beyond!
Herrick chuckled, "Nothing, I just slipped on some stairs."
You slipped, and it caused all of that? What kind of stairs did you fall off?! Only a fool would believe Herrick's words. Keith and the others wanted to retort. Well, one person did.
"What do you mean you slipped and fell?! We were ambushed by a bunch of demons!"
"Wait, what?" Jack and the others changed.
"They tried to hide themselves by wrapping their face. But I could still see their horns on their heads" Melor scoffed. Those guys weren't good at hiding their horns.
"Those guys attacked us from all sides. They were definitely trying to defeat us!"
"Wait, why do you look fine while Herrick is that?" Keith was even more confused. Herrick was wrapped in bandages, while Melor looked alright for the most part. Banged up but was fine for the most part.
"That's because the guy didn't fight back!" Melor grabbed his head.
"Relax, it was a slip." Herrick smiled.
"This is not a slip, Herrick." Arlo raised his voice. What happened to Herrick was not remotely a slip. It seemed those demons wanted to kill him.
"No, Arlo. It is. I just slipped and hit myself in the head." Herrick laughed. He turned to Keith, "Keith, this is nothing more than an accident, alright?"

"....Okay." Keith took a deep sigh. When that was said, everyone's expression turned heavy.
"You need to get some rest," Keith smiled. After everything that happened, Herrick needed to get some rest. As they left his room,
"Keith, are we really going to let this go?!" Jack was the first person to speak up.
"What do you mean?" Keith questioned. However, that caused Jack to frown, "You can't let this go. We have to get revenge." Herrick was a member of their island. And someone attacked him. He wasn't the type of person who would take this lying down!
Keith shook his head, "Herrick said it was nothing more than a slip. Nothing more."
"But-"
"We have to accept Herrick's words."
"..." Jack wanted to say more. However, Gabriel grabbed him by the shoulders. The two looked at one another, and Gabriel pointed at Keith's hand.
Jack looked down to see blood dripping down from his hand.
"!"
Keith had clenched it so hard to the point blood dripped. His nails dug into his palms.
"..." It was clear that Keith was the angriest of all. However, he couldn't do anything with what Herrick said.
Everyone sighed deeply before returning to the island with a dark expression.
…
"Prince Iston, our plan was a success!" The elves bowed their heads at him.
Iston smiled, "Good job. The first person has been taken care of."
"Prince Iston, why did we target the beastmen first?" That was something some elves were curious about. Even though they hated beastmen, that didn't mean they didn't need to attack them. Herrick was someone they didn't need to worry. He was crazy in the beginning. However, he was now a meek person.
The others were the ones they had to be worried about.
Iston smirked, "To cause a giant fire, you need a little spark."
"?" A little spark?
"..." Iston said nothing else; only a smirk was left on his face.
...
What happened to Herrick had spread through the class. Herrick was ganged up by a bunch of demons and was sent to the hospital! The beastmen were going crazy.
"Prince! We need to fight back!"
"How could those demons do this to you?!"
"We need to get revenge!"
The beastmen didn't want to take this lying down. For them to take down Herrick was a problem.
"No, we will not fight with them." Herrick shook his head.
"Why not?!"
"Because I said so," Herrick's eyes were stern as he stared at his brethren. With how serious he was, the beastmen could only begrudgingly accept this.
They talked some more before they left.
"These guys need to calm down," Herrick sighed as he lay in bed. This has been happening for quite some time now. Many beastmen came to him, wanting to seek vengeance.
