Volume 5 Chapter 43: That Escalated Quickly.

"Keith,"

"What's the matter, Jack?"

"About Herrick?"

"What about him?" Keith had an uninterested look. It has been a few days since the competition. With the loss against Arlo, Herrick had to make do with the wager. Herrick continued to have a book and egg on his head throughout the day. The expression he made was something.

Carolyn and the others could only shake their heads as they watched him.

"Are you really not going to do something about him?" Jack questioned as he felt terrible.

"Nope. Herrick lost his wager and has to own up to it,"

"Shouldn't we tell him still?" It seemed the guy still didn't understand why Keith told him to do this

"Nope." Keith denied. It would only affect his growth if he kept telling him the answers.

"But this is really horrible." Jack felt the whole mood go down because of him. Herrick really did not understand any of it.

"Nah, just let him keep going," Keith smiled. There was nothing to lose from this. Herrick would have to bounce back from this.

While the two talked,

"Excuse us," Keith noticed some elves in front of him. The two tried to move around them. That caused them to move right in their way.

Jack frowned, "Are you trying to cause trouble?"

"What if we are?!" The elf's expressions were dark as they glared at Keith and Jack.

"Huh?" A thought came to his mind, "Aren't you the two who stopped us before?" Looking at them again, he realized they were the people who did this.

"We told you before not to come near our princess! Do you not have ears?!" An elf cursed at Keith.

I think it's the other way around. Keith wanted to tell them that. Alfia was the one who came to him instead of the other way around! However, there was no way he could say that.

"Alfia is her own person. You have no right to control who she meets up with." Alfia can choose who to go with. Keith frowned when he saw how they were acting. They were treating her like a tool.

"How dare you! Don't speak about our princess like you're close to her."

"I'm closer to her than you guys," Keith retorted.

Snap! That was the last straw!

"Get him!" The elves raised their weapons!

"That escalated quickly."

"You think it's a joke!" Everything in Keith's reactions showed he didn't care at all!

"Yeah," Keith answered coolly. And that did it. The elves charged at Keith with their weapons raised. However, the latter was unphased.

"Argh!" The elves were the ones screaming!

"You guys are terrible at holding the weapons," Keith sighed. He saw how they held their weapons. It was not good at all. Smacking their wrist slightly was enough to disarm them. Staring down at them, Keith warned,

"I'm going to let you off now. However, don't pull your weapons out again. I won't hold back." With those words, Keith walked away with Jack.

"You should have ended them," Jack commented. Those guys were the type to do something again.

"Of course, I can," Keith nodded, "But it's not worth doing all of that." He probably gets an earful from Cadmus and Sohma for doing something like that. He already caused a lot of trouble.

Sending them to the nurse's office would be annoying.

"Let's return home," Keith smiled. There was no need to worry about them as they returned home.

...

"So you guys have failed?" Iston looked down at the elves who tried to cause trouble for Keith. They were holding their arms. Even after an hour, their arms still hurt.

"Our apologies, Prince Iston! However, that human was too strong!" The elves didn't account for Keith being that powerful.

"Of course, he would be strong." Iston shook his head, "If he wasn't strong, he wouldn't be capable of beating 50 men!" That settled it. These guys were used as bait to check out. And it was true.

Keith's skills were so much better than any other person. Iston shook his head.

That guy is a threat. He could see it now. Keith was too much of a danger to not keep in check.

"Why are you causing trouble for him? Do you want to make him an enemy?" One of the elves spoke up. He had hair that was the same color as Iston and Alfia's. He was none other than Iston's brother, Licht. He wasn't fully related to Iston and Alfia. He was born to another mother.

"What are you talking about, dear brother? We need to do something about a student being a threat to our sister," Iston said with a light grin.

"..." Do you really think I would buy that? Iston was cunning. He would do things for his own gain. And he would name it for a better cause.

"I know what we have to do,"
