Volume 6 Chapter 76: Gearing Up

"Hah!" Keith sighed deeply as he looked at the sky. He was lying face up. His body was covered in sweat from head to toe.

"How do you feel?" Cadmus came from the entrance. Keith's smile tinged with determination, "I feel I'm prepared enough to survive almost everything."

"I think you're overprepared." Cadmus shook his head. Keith's words were an understatement in the making. These last few days had been Keith training like a madman. He did everything he could to improve his abilities.

"Better to be over-prepared than under." Being over-prepared just meant you worked more than usual. However, it would have been a pain if he had been underprepared.

"Fine. But you should go take a break. Working out for so long doesn't do a body good." He couldn't enter the dungeon with a weary body. With how long he trained, it would be difficult.

"I will take a rest later. Also, I need to pack supplies for the exploration as well." Titus said they should pack a week's worth of supplies. I need to get that as well.

"I see. Good luck then." Cadmus said nothing more as he walked away. He knew Keith was going to work out even more.

"Back to work!" Keith got up from the ground, his movements swift and purposeful. He couldn't stop himself now. After he did all of that, Keith went to collect some supplies. The first place he headed to was Iron Hilde,

"Skar, are you there?" Keith called out.

"I'm here, Kid." Skar came out from the back. Keith questioned, "Do you have the thing I asked before?" There was no banter between the two. Keith was serious about this.

"Of course. Who do you think I am?" Skar grinned as he brought him to the back. Keith's eyes locked onto one place. There was armor being displayed in the center.

There was nothing flashy about the armor. But that was what Keith wanted. It was only for protection and nothing more.

"What is it made out of?"

"I used the hides of steel lizards to make it. It's more durable than any old iron, and it's flexible as well. So you can move around without thinking about it getting in your way." After Keith left the guild, he came here to ask them for some things.

"I wasn't going to ask for armor," Keith muttered. He was planning to go with the regular armor. But that caused Skar to scoff at him,

"How stupid are you? You're going in there with the most basic gear ever!" Keith's gear was made from the weakest iron ever.

"If it isn't broken, it's workable." Keith had been using the same thing for the last few months. It worked well with him.

"Tsk," Skar sucked his teeth before sighing, "Try it on and tell me if you need any alterations."

"Understood." Keith wore the armor. The first thought that came to his mind was,

Light. It felt light from something that was made out of steel. Keith turned to Skar, "Is it supposed to be light?"

"Mmhmm. The hide from a steel lizard is more durable than steel, but it's also half its weight. It's a popular material to use to make armor."

"I see." Keith started moving his body around, throwing punches and kicks along the way.

"Anything wrong with it?" "The leg part is a little tight on my thigh." He could raise it to the right angle.

"Gotcha." Skar nodded as he started to alter it. While he did, "Also, check out the sword on the rack as well."

"Huh? You made another one?" Staring at it, Keith realized the second sword was made from the same material as the one Skar gave him before.

"I could only make a long sword and a short one." Skar sighed. He wanted to make two long swords. However,

"I think it would be perfect for you."

"Hmm," Keith picked it up and took out the long sword. The longer one was a meter longer. Waving the short sword around,

"It's good." It was lighter than the long one, so he could swing it faster.

"Then use it. Going to an unexplored dungeon by yourself is going to be difficult. And take the armor; it's good to go."

"Thanks." Keith placed the armor into his belt.

"Save it. Just come back alive and bring some material if you find any."

"Gotcha." Keith laughed. He didn't stay any longer as he needed to buy some other supplies before the end of the day.

"To think he would be going on an expedition." The other dwarves muttered once Keith left. It was surprising since Keith hadn't been here for a year!

"He has the skills." "But it's going to be difficult for him."

"Do you guys only know how to talk?! Get back to work!" Skar scowled as he added, "That kid is going to come back alive even if everyone tries to smite him down!" That was something he knew for sure!
